"Hopelessly Devoted To You"

AUSTRALIA DAY ANNOUNCEMENT! THE ORION EXPERIENCE COVERS “HOPELESSLY DEVOTED TO YOU” BY OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN’S POWERHOUSE BALLAD FROM GREASE SOUNDTRACK

Latest Single From Upcoming Covers Record CosmiCovers, Pays Homage to Newton-John and Fellow Australian Producer John Farrar with Reworked Upbeat Duet Single Set for February 24

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Orion Experience is excited to announce, on Australia Day no less, the release of their first single of 2023, a cover of  Olivia Newton-John’s “Hopelessly Devoted to You” from the motion picture Grease. Click here to presave the track upon release Friday February 24th.

This latest single from The Orion Experience’s (T.O.E.) upcoming album of cover songs, CosmiCovers pays homage to Olivia Newton-John. So many of T.O.E.’s musical influences come from the land down under, it only seemed right to celebrate the uniqueness of Aussie pop by covering this track. Reimagined with a Motown groove, band members Linda XO and Orion Simprini worked out Stevie Wonder inspired melodies, with a Jackson 5-like rhythm section. Lead guitar player, Reef Roxx laid down an Afro-Cuban style lick that is impossible not to dance to. Like all great cover songs, The Orion Experience wanted to pay tribute to the original work, written by legendary Australian producer John Farrar, while adding their own distinct style.

We challenge all you Rydell High School T-Birds to a drag race at Thunder Road if this cover doesn’t get you on the dance floor for Vince Fontaine’s National Bandstand.

Michael's Musings

Bought Myself  Some Flowers
Michael Shinafelt

Flowers by Miley Cyrus has been my earworm since it dropped. Honestly it's one of the best pop songs ever and propels Ms. Cyrus to even bigger heights than the considerable ones she has already scaled, and that's saying something!

Anyway I don't think I need to carry on further about it, nuff said, it's time to nip the topic in the bud (pun intended.)

Visited my family in WA State for 4 days, it was lovely spending time with them and a much needed rest as well

HBD to Chucky creator Don Mancini who just turned 60!!!

Let's take a journey to the bubblegum pool

I slipped on a slice of cheese last year, and I can finally address it now

Judging by the latest trailer Scream 6 is going to be savage AF!!!

Searched my home to double check that I did not have any classified documents in my possession, affirmative, I don't

Although Jesus was known as a Carpenter he never actually sang on any of their albums

Tuna Shaming is the worst kind of shaming...

Woman Crush of the Week - Mia Goth who is giving us another amazing unhinged performance in Infinity Pool opening tomorrow!!!

I'm feeling nostalgically beachy today

Spread the love, keep being creative

The reason I never order room service is I don't like the idea of a stranger in my room

You aren't really living until you have a lovely collection of feather boas

Lemons are a good way to get rid of unwanted fat

Hump Day & Chill

No Longer Mythical
Jamie Lee Curtis

Well here's something to Hump Day & Chill to, Jamie Lee Curtis as a Unicorn. Actually she may have thought her ever getting an Oscar Nomination was the equivalent of he mythical creature. But after all these years (and a few nomination worthy performances prior) Jamie Lee finally got herself an Oscar Nom in the Supporting Actress Category for Everything Everywhere All At Once!!!

Thus we are going to celebrate by having a Hump Day & Chill to this most excellent news.

Fingers crossed that she could possibly take home the gold dude, but the odds seem to favor Angela Bassett.

It's an honor just to be nominated, right??? Yeah, right...

Team Jamie Lee!!!

Today's Your Birthday!

HBD!
Mariska Hargitay

OK, while I rarely do a celebrity Birthday post, today I felt compelled to do so because today is none other than Commanding Officer Olivia Benson of Law & Order: SVU's Birthday!

In basic terms Happy Birthday Mariska Hargitay!!! Law & Order: SVU is in it's 24th season and .happens to be my favorite show on TV, well, ever actually. So how could I not wish Mariska a HBD? I simply had to.

Doesn't the Birthday grrrrrl look great holding her People's Choice Award for the Drama Star of 2022? A testament to her and the shows enduring popularity.

Born January 23rd in Santa Monica, CA to the legendary Jayne Mansfield and Mickey Hargitay, Mariska is 59 today.

BTW looking forward to this week's episode of SVU, well because it looks like Benson & Stabler finally seal the deal...

Sunday Funday

Bringing Herself Flowers
Diane Keaton

While scrolling through my Instagram feed something caught my eye, a video of none other than Oscar winning actress Diane Keaton getting down to Flowers by Miley Cyrus!

Hence I had to take a screen shot post haste and do a, what else? Sunday Funday blog around it.

I actually was not following Ms. Keaton on IG, it was one of those things that showed up in my feed because people I follow and who follow me liked it. Well thanks Instagram your pushy ways did gain Diane (as I'm going to refer to her from now on) a new follower.

Who knew Diane was so much fun?!

Hey, Diane call me and let's "do lunch"

Check out Diane's cooler than you'll ever be video of her cutting footloose on IG...

The Vagrant

HE'S NOT HOME ALONE! The 90s cult classic is back! Directed by Chris Walas - FX genius of Gremlins and The Fly - The Vagrant is a demented black comedy starring cult icons Bill Paxton (Aliens, Twister), Michael Ironside (Scanners, Starship Troopers), Colleen Camp (Death Game, Clue) and Marshall Bell (Freddy's Revenge, Total Recall) in a grimy blend of satire and grisly terror. Mild-mannered financial clerk Graham Krakowski buys a run-down starter home only to discover a vagrant, living in the empty lot across the street, keeps appearing inside. Attempts to remove the homeless man lead to a feud that spirals out of control and tests Graham's sanity as the vagrant engages him in twisted mind games, defiling his home, and framing him for gruesome murders. Beloved character actor Bill Paxton stepped up to leading man status in The Vagrant and proved his extraordinary range in a role that runs the gamut of emotions and climbs to stratospheric heights of craziness. Newly restored from the original camera negative The Vagrant is a one of a kind movie that deserves a place in any cult film collection.
