Michael's Musings

Be Your Own Work Of Art...
Michael Shinafelt

I have immersed myself in peaceful creative energy of late. That does not mean that I am unaware of what's happening in the world around me. It simply means there has to be a balance. One of the things I did as you can see above, was to hit the apps and make myself a work of art.

Remember we each are our own work of art, and while chaos surrounds us anchor yourself and make a portrait of yourself for yourself, however you like and whatever that means to you. Now what to call my portrait? It's got the "sex vibe" going thus I was thinking "Sexually Fluid" or simply "Sexual Fluid" what do you think???

Repeat after me "I will commit the sin of empathy today"

FYI Never take criticism from anyone you wouldn't take advice from, the more you know

Isn't Sutton Stracke's Mom on RHOBH a scream? Literally she is like something out of a horror movie!

Been binging Younger on Netflix, it is just what I need at this place and time and Sutton Foster is wonderful in it

No, I will not go on a hike with you. Yes, I will walk 10 miles a day at Disney, that's all

M3gan 2.0 is back to terrorize us on June 27th! While I did not find the first one scary I did enjoy the mayhem!

Elon Musk calling out others for illegal deeds while he is trying to carry out a coup really defines the sociopath

One of my favorite slasher flicks Valentine turned 24 years old on February 2nd, discuss

Happy Black History Month Minions!

Do all you can, by all the means you can. to all the people you can, in all the places you can, as long as ever you can

Time to finish up head to yoga then finish up binging Younger today...

Hump Day & Chill

Seahorse Love

Today we shall Hump Day & Chill to a thing of beauty...nature. Here we have a female seahorse passing her fertilized eggs to a male seahorse so he can carry them term.

"Yes" that's correct Minions, it is the male seahorse who goes through pregnancy and gives birth in case you were out of the loop on that fact.

Thus gender fluid is a real thing, it's natural after all.

Let's just put it this way if there was anyway to use seahorses as a vessel of hate and political posturing I'm sure they would be a target of the current whatever the F#ck you want to call it since we really don't have a President.

For those of us who marvel at the world around us, let's pay the "good vibes" forward and Hump Day & Chill to the thing of beauty that is the seahorse.

Strong

Garcelle Beauvais

Tonight is the night when the ladies of Beverly Hills go at it! That's correct The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs tonight on Bravo.

I spied this portrait of Garcelle Beauvais straight outta her Instagram page and loved it.

Thus I thought I would post it in honor of Black History Month and RHOBH day.

While all of the adjectives apply to Ms. Beauvais I felt the one that encompasses her the most was: Strong.

Being a Black Woman in the Entertainment Industry who is successful takes a lot of strength.

I will extrapolate no further as I can not speak to her life experience past this piece of knowledge.

This being stated I will be tuning in tonight for RHOBH, "yes" it's my Tuesday evening "thing"

Don't put away the snow shovels yet. Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, predicting six more weeks of winter on Groundhog Day 2025...

It already feels like the Ice Age so why not?

Sunday Funday indeed...

LYRICS:

Your eyes looked so tired
That’s what I thought first
You were greatly admired
But you were dying of thirst
There were comebacks
Felt like thumbtacks
On your fingertips so fine
You belonged to the many
Never yours never mine
Weren’t we lonely
Weren’t we sad
Weren’t we beautiful
Weren’t we bad
Funny man
Turn and ran
In the sun
Golden one
Funny man
I’m your fan
When you died
Oh how we cried
I was just a kid
You were just a king
Everything you did
A prayer and a wing
You always got my name wrong
Apologies the same song
That you sang to me
Words that set me free
Weren’t we lonely
Weren’t we sad
Weren’t we beautiful
Weren’t we bad

Weren’t we lonely
Weren’t we sad
Weren’t we beautiful
Weren’t we bad

I can’t forgive you
I can’t relive you
I can’t revive you
But I survive you

Funny man
Turn and ran
In the sun
Golden one
Funny man
I’m your fan
When you died
Oh how we cried
Funny man
Morbid plan
Hearts you wrung
Gone and done
Funny man
How you ran
Always mine
Never die
Funny man
We all do the best that we can
Funny man
We all do the best that we can

On “Lucky Gift,” (which was written by Margaret and produced by Garrison Starr here ) Margaret sings in a sultry-pop tone while playing her double neck mandolin-guitar, “The Mandotar.”  “This is my power pop anthem and the first song I wrote on my mandotar. It’s been 8 years since Margaret released her 2016 Grammy nominated American Myth album HERE

which featured the standout track “Anna Nicole” here written about her friendship with Anna Nicole-Smith.

Margaret says of the forthcoming Lucky Gift album – “I am thrilled to share this album which has been many years in the making. There’s tributes to Robin Williams, lost love, found love and anthems to non- binary and gender non-conforming folx. I collaborated with Garrison Starr and Roger Rocha in different cities at different times but it all feels like it comes from the same place and the same heart.”
