Michael's Musings

"You're A Vile One, Mr. Grinch"
Michael Shinafelt & The Grinch

"You're a monster, Mr. Grinch. Your heart's an empty hole! Your brain is full of spiders, You've got garlic in your soul, Mr. Grinch. I wouldn't touch you with a thirty-nine-and-a-half foot pole!" - You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch

Dear Anyone I offended this year: Work on yourself so you might be spared in 2026, that's all

Never confuse love and pity. I'm terribly sorry I did. The more you know...

Remember if you don't have a chimney Santa will be coming in your backdoor, think about it, but not too much

It's too cold to pull out...stay inside

There's a parallel universe where Mariah Carey is doing her shopping and is sick of hearing me on every store's speaker system. Indeed.

Karma won't do everything.. Learn to insult people sometimes.

This week Trump claimed that 300 million Americans died from drugs last year. The entire population of the United States is only 340 million. I believe we'd have noticed.

Other than aiding in losing weight I just found out GLP-1 drugs help with aging of the brain.
Perfect!

Woman Crush of the Week - Aunt Gladys, watched Weapons for the second time and she is even more insidious than the first time

Loving Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner both wearing orange to the Marty Supreme premiere

Cheers! To the seven Golden Globe Nominations Sinners received. Well deserved!

BTW In case you were wondering, I ask questions, not permission, that's all you need to know

I'm loving the Spring weather we are experiencing in Los Angeles presently

Guess what? I'm turning 60 a week from today!!!

Hump Day & Chill

Uma Thurman & Lucy Liu

Since Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is in release presently I thought we should celebrate with a Hump Day & Chill with this way to cool for me, behind scenes photo of Uma Thurman and Lucy Liu.

It appears to be the scene where The Bride (Uma Thurman)  scalps O-Ren Ishii (Lucy Liu)

Nice to see Lucy survived with the top of her head missing...Ha ha ha ha!

Whatever else you may see this week, nothing will be the epitome of cool like seeing today's Hump Day & Chill post.

That's all...now get to it Minions!

Walking in LA ...

Photo:
Michael Shinafelt

While walking in LA one never knows what one might come across. Like this Snowman trio that I assume is a family. Looks like Frosty finally settled down...

"Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul

With corn cob pipe and a button nose
And two eyes made out of coal

Frosty the snowman is a fairy tale they say
He was made of snow
But the children know how he came to life one day

There must have been some magic in
That old silk cap they found
For when they placed it on his head
He began to dance around"

Christmas "Angel"

Just Call Him "Angel"

This one is for all you Buffy The Vampire Slayer fans, like me. You know it's tradition to use an Angel as a Christmas Tree topper, correct?

Well I am curious as to how many Buffy fans top their tree off with "Angel" as illustrated here.

Hey, it's the way I top off my tree, please tell me I'm not alone in this. I can't imagine I am.

Remember Christmas comes but once a year, but being a slayer lasts every day all year, every year.

Now if you'll excuse me time to dust off my "Angel" and put him on my tree.

“If We Could Live Without Passion, Maybe We’d Truly Know Some Kind Of Peace. But We Would Be Hollow. Empty Rooms, Shuttered, And Dank. Without Passion, We’d Truly Be Dead.” - Angel, Buffy The Vampire Slayer

"The Christmas Song"

Santa's On His Way...
Mike Clifford

OK, it's time for something traditional this Christmas. "Yes" it's that time of the year I post that old classic "The Christmas Song" covered by former Teen Idol Mike Clifford of "Close To Cathy" fame.

Mike has been one busy guy this past year with his covers of The Carpenters "Close To You" and "Wives and Lovers" by Jack Jones. You can find the videos on YouTube. Not to mention enjoying his life.

He wishes all of you a truly wonderful Holiday Season and peace heading in to the New Year.

So what are you waiting for?! Hit the video for "The Christmas Song" after the jump...

Only 18 days until Christmas!

People Who Don't Read "People"

Whilst I never read People Magazine I do follow them on Instagram as it is part of my job to keep up with current events.

People Magazine covers a variety of things and raises awareness for lesser heard stories of, well, people. They aren't just a celebrity centric publication.

Thus when this byline came up in my Instagram feed they lost some of my respect for publishing this "utter nonsense" the other day.

Honestly all this does is lower their standards to that of the current administration. I would expect a lesser publication to have posted this, but People???

As you can see by the screenshot above I voiced my opinion. It has garnered 104 likes so far, obviously I am not alone in my take on it.

One astute comment said "they publish anything with Taylor Swifts name in it"

While I am sure this is the case...Dear People how low can you go?
