Joan was a comedian who mattered. Not only did she pave the way for females in comedy today, she was flat out ballsy.

She wasn't afraid to call out anyone or anything, including herself.

If something can be learned from her death it is to bend it like Joan: live, love, laugh, cry and above all be fearless.

Project Runway: Shark Eater Out!

It's Mistress Heidi!!!

It's Thursday, and time for another Project Runway!

Last week we saw the elimination of Charketa Glover aka Shark Eater Glover - Which brings me to the reason I love watching PR...It's hilarious! 

Heidi Klum is awesome, she is a dominatrix with Elmer Fudd's voice, and every time she uttered Charketa's name even though she was pronouncing it correctly her lovely accent always butchers someone's name or other words that come out of her mouth. Thus Charketa will always be Shark Eater to me, because honestly that is what it sounded like Heidi was saying. C'mon you know you all thought it too!

I love it when her accent mangles something she says, it makes for a great laugh. While were at it let's address some Heidi-isms that bowl me over too, for instance when she says "You're Out" - even though I know it won't happen the delivery is so stern I keep waiting for her to break out her riding crop and give the losing contestant a good smack on the ass.

Also you gotta enjoy when she says "The color is sad" - I admit that particular one I have replayed a few times, it's always good for comedic effect.

Then there is Tim Gunn the designers mentor. His droll criticism is hilarious and when he does the "Vagina Hands" your know when he touches his finger tips together while looking thoughtful into the "V" shape, yeah you know the "Vagina Hands?"

Well I am betting a lot of you call them that like me, why you may ask? Talent Manager Marki Costello had a reality show on E! called The Drama Queen while she was coaching an actor she yelled out Don't do the "Vagina Hands" like Tim Gunn at them. Suddenly I felt completely validated that I was not the only one whose mind went there, so if someone else thinks and states it other than myself that means there are more of you out there, it's OK now know you are not alone.

A special shout to Nina Garcia who is a class act bitch on the show, her criticism is honest and cuts like a knife, but she still comes off with an air of elegance while stabbing you on national TV.

Oh that reminds me every time Heidi let's Nina's name roll off her tongue it sounds like there is going to be a bitch slapping that never materializes...Honestly who cares who wins, the show is flat out funny!

I don't know about anybody else, but I love this type of thing and after reading about it, this sounds fascinating, I'm so in!

After three years of controversy and legal battles, Shane Ryan's long-awaited, critically-acclaimed My Name Is A By Anonymous is set for home video release. The award-winning true crime film will come to DVD on September 23rd, and soon after will be available on VOD and PPV under the title Alyssa: Portrait of a Teen Killer, courtesy of Wild Eye Releasing and MVD Entertainment Group.

Over two hours of bonus materials fill out the DVD, and include two alternate cuts of the film, short films, deleted scenes, trailers, music videos, and more.

Based on real-life teenage 'Thrill Killer' Alyssa Bustamante, who gained instant worldwide fame when she murdered her younger neighbor in 2009, My Name is A By Anonymous,which The London Film Review called "Bold Daring, disturbing and heartbreaking" is directed by Shane Ryan (the Amateur Porn Star Killer series). Producers include Ryan Nicholson (Live Feed, Hanger) and Kevin Gage (Laid to Rest, May,Heat). Katie Marsh, Demi Baumann, Alex Damiano, Kaliya Skye and Russian pop star Teona Dolnikova (formerly of the band Slot),  star in the film, which has left festival crowds around the world "haunted" and "shaken" and has been universally hailed by critics for its uncompromising, raw style.

Inspired by real events. The search for a missing girl exposes a dark world of lost and emotionally unstable teenagers who are responsible for the girl's disappearance and eventual murder. A disturbing, fascinating portrait of the alienation and despair found in teens who have been left to fend for their own purpose. My Name is A By Anonymous is based on the true crime of Alyssa Bustamante, the 15 year old convicted and currently serving a life sentence for the 'Thrill-killing' of her neighbor Elizabeth Olten in 2009.

Théâtre Raymond Kabbaz (TRK) presents the 2014/2015 Season Opening Night with The Lost Fingers on Friday, September 19, 2014. The evening, made complete with an opening reception, kicks off the 14th season of TRK’s public performing arts series at the innovative performance space at Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles. The Quebec-based and award-winning headliner, The Lost Fingers, is known for transforming pop/rock classics into Django Reinhardt-style gypsy jazz, with a hint of blue grass, taking listeners on a musical journey through reinterpretations from AC/DC to Earth, Wind and Fire; from Deee-Lite to Dolly Parton and Daft Punk. This will be The Lost Fingers’ Los Angeles debut as a quartet, featuring vocalist Valérie Amyot (a finalist on La Voix, Quebec's version of the popular American TV show, The Voice). The band previously performed at TRK in 2010 as a trio, before Amyot joined the group. TRK’s 2014/2015 Season Opening Night with The Lost Fingers is made possible with the support of the Quebec Government Office in Los Angeles.

Th e Lost Fingers, Jazz/Swing/Django/Pop/Rock/Symphony – 
The Lost Fingers, a Canadian gypsy jazz music group formed in Quebec City, are composed of Alex Morissette(backing vocals, upright bass), François Rioux (guitar), Valérie Amyot (lead vocals), and Byron “Maiden” Mikaloff (backing vocals, guitar). The band’s name was inspired by gypsy jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt, who lost the use of two fingers following a fire.

The band takes listeners on a entertaining musical journey, offering unique arrangements of Daft Punk, Anna Kendrick, Earth, Wind and Fire, Guns and Roses, Michael Jackson, Paula Abdul, and Technotronic. Their high-energy show attracts a wide range of music lovers, pop-culture aficionados, and even conservative jazz experts. It's "Freak Show" Friday !

Step Right Up, It's Time For The "Freak Show"

I contemplated doing a post about some wedding that happened this past weekend, but honestly while I would like to congratulate Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, I find the latest promotional teasers for American Horror Story: Freak Show more exciting!

Although I must also give Brad and Angelina credit for being clever enough to have their wedding on a weekend while a major awards show, The Emmy's, was happening to help keep it hush hush and under the radar and all.

These promos are getting me really excited for October 8th on FX. In case you didn't know the month of Halloween and all things spooky is my Christmas and I'd like to thank the powers that be for giving us horror fans this present for the past three years, and now a fourth.

Looking at the image recently released by The Hollywood Reporter above sends my imagination into overdrive.

Here's hoping that Tod Browning's Freaks plays a major influence on this "Freak Show!"

Eric Himan @ Room 5

One of my favorite singer/songwriters, Eric Himan took to the Room 5 stage in Los Angeles, CA last night for his Everything To You Tour.

As usual Eric gave 110% and the audience loved the show, of course! I would like to give a special shout out to the fan who requested Mr. Himan sing his hit song Red Hot Tears since it happens to be my personal favorite by him. Thanks Dude!
