Monday Motivation

Here's Looking @ U
Michael Shinafelt
"Food, glorious food! Hot sausage and mustard! While we're in the mood --
Cold jelly and custard!" - Oliver!

"Yes" today's Monday Motivation is you guessed it, food! What I eat does not consist of any of the things mentioned above. Of course I am not a starving orphan being fed gruel. But I did play one in a musical production of Oliver! That's correct minions I was once a thespian.

Moving onward, losing 50lbs is never easy for anyone, especially when you are in your 50's. Ya know 50/50 😛Thus one must do what they do food wise to drop the weight. Whilst that does not mean to starve thyself it does mean you can't eat hot sausage with mustard.

It means when you eat you have to do it clean and healthy. I would say stick to this pretty strictly in the beginning before you have cheat days. That's what I had to do at least. Once you lost a good amount of the ole' bulge then add the cheat day, but do not, I repeat, do not go overboard!

Also cut out, or simply cut back on drinking. I am wine type of dude who cut back. I like it in to cap off my day and would find it hard to completely kick it to the curb. Call it my cold jelly and custard.

Now get out there and get motivated minions!

Just Because...Giving

We Crave a Different Kind of Buzz...
Prince Harry & Meghan Markle
I stumbled upon this gem today about Prince Harry & Meghan Markle asking those who wish them well to go to...Ha! Kidding. They have actually asked them to make Charitable Donations in lieu of Wedding Gifts.

Personally I love these two, there I said it. Not since Princess Diana has anything "Royal" really grabbed my attention.

Their obvious happiness is infectious. But what I adore most about them is how philanthropic they are. They hand picked seven charities they would like people to give to in honor of their special day, they are as follows:

CHIVA (Children's HIV Association), Crisis, the Myna Mahila Foundation, Scotty's Little Soldiers, StreetGames, Surfers Against Sewage and The Wilderness Foundation UK.

Giving is something that is important whether it be money, food or time.

I feel one should give back any way you can. Do I give? For the record "yes" I practice what I preach.

Just Because...It's Weird

It's All Fun & Games Until...
Miranda Kerr
Just because it's weird, just because it's visual & just because it's Miranda Kerr, here is yet another one of a kind image from Tokyo.

That's right kids just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful photo op of Ms. Kerr and a Japanese food company mascot who goes by the name Marukome Kun. Yeah, you read that correctly, I don't get it.

All I know is it has something to do with promoting food, but honestly I find Marukome to come off more than a little disturbing. With his big blank eyes and wide open mouth...I will stop short of going there, think about it, but not too much.

Miranda is giving good face despite what I think is a totally awkward and perverse situation. Seriously would you want to be photographed with that?! I thought not.

Be disturbed, be be disturbed!

It's "The Dr. Nina Show"

Dr. Nina is on a mission to help you "Win The Diet War" with her practice, podcast and her award winning blog.
Just when you thought there was nothing else the amazing Dr. Nina could pull out of her hat along comes her bi-weekly broadcast on YouTube - "The Dr. Nina Show"!
Dr. Nina's advice is very sound and logical and she offers very simple tips on re-thinking how you relate to yourself in terms of food. That's right people, it's not about the food, it's about the importance and power you put on it in your life.
Let's check in with Dr. N and see what she has to say about all this jazz:
"If people are struggling with overeating or binge eating, I tell them that whatever is going on with food is a "symptom" of the problem, not the actual problem (although it feels like "the" problem). Overeating is a "frenemy" - it helps you cope with painful or upsetting things, but it also hurts you.
It's important to address the underlying reasons you turn to food in the first place. When you can identify and work through those core reasons, and when you can use words for comfort and/support, you won't need food to cope".
Oh Dr. Nina knows of what she speaks having had my own set of circumstances that have taught me to look at things in a whole new way. This reprogramming of ones self is key to everything in life, not just food. Try it, you will be surprised at how much better your quality of being is, and if food is your issue, watch it's hold on you diminish with the most awesome show I have ever heard on the subject.

Japan’s TsuShiMaMiRe release their new concept album “Shocking” as well as an extended version of 2011’s “Giving Blood” album entitled “Giving More Blood” on May 1 2012 via Good Charamel Records

Humans are the only living thing which can love FOOD and love ROCK ‘N’ ROLL.

“Kufuku and Kuhaku”(“Hungry and Empty”), people feel empty in the world that is filled with only objects and information. The 3 main ingredients departed the planet “SHOCKING” on the UFO called “SARA” (It also means plate in Japanese); these ingredients names were; Cabbage Wild, Marice and Mizevi. They landed on the planet earth, and started becoming people’s messiah, “Meshiya”...

As you can see, Japanese Female Alt Rockers, TsuShiMaMiRe have found another way to express themselves.
The “Shocking” album follows a theme throughout the album with a storyline, Shocking is “Concept Album”. You know, like “Ziggy Stardust” by David Bowie, “Berlin” by Lou Reed, “Sargent Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” by The Beatles or “Tommy” by The Who….you get it.

Shocking” consists of 12 stories of Space themes. We are not going to mention the theme and stories here as we don’t want these notions to get in the way of your own imagination.

TsuShiMaMiRe started their own label “Mojor Records” in Japan and established the environment to be able to create their work without any pressure or restriction. Sound engineer Soichiro Nakamura, who was a part of Guitar Wolf and Yura Yura Teikoku engineered this album. And on May 1 Good Charamel Records will release the “Shocking” concept album in North America!

After numerous tours around the world with acts such as The Suicide Girls and Peelander Z, TsuShiMaMiRe continues to push out their boundaries and create new, stimulating sounds that set this unique group of women apart from the rest.
Good Charamel will be releasing this amazing album in North America in 2012 as well as simultaneously releasing an extended / remastered version of TsuShiMaMiRe’s 2011 release “Giving More Blood” with bonus material and remixed tracks.

Please press “Play”… and that will launch the rocket. Please Enjoy “Shocking” the new album by one of Japan’s most creative, cutting edge musical acts, TsuShiMaMiRe!
