This past week the Supreme Court took a stand for LGBTQ Civil Rights, and it happened during Pride Month, Yay! While I don't even know why basic equality should be held into question, let alone need a ruling by a court this is still rocking news!!!

So, how you doing Minions? Let's hit this noise!

I don't know about you, but I don't trust anyone who can't hold a drink with one hand, just sayin'

"To go Full Karen you must imagine that you're delivering Scarlett O'Hara's "As God as my witness" speech, for your talent competition in the Miss USA Pageant and that if you don't win there will be a lawsuit" - Paul Rudnick

FYI If you've never had the Supreme Court decide if you have the same rights as others you have privilege

Just say no to being a victim of lunar carnivorous activities

Gwyneth Paltrow now offers a candle called "This Smells Like My Orgasm" and is hawking it with the help of her 14 year old son Moses. File this under: "Just when you thought 2020 couldn't get any more disturbing"

ENGLAND IS MINE

When a movie title announces itself in all caps, you know that movie has to be about Morrissey!

ENGLAND IS MINE is a new drama about the early days of Morrissey, the iconic pop star and original front man for the seminal band, The Smiths. Directed by Academy Award® and BAFTA-nominee Mark Gill, the film stars Jack Lowden as the artist formerly known as Steven Patrick Morrissey and Jessica Brown Findlay of "Downton Abbey" fame as his soul mate and muse.

Set in Thatcher's Britain of the 70's and 80's, a time when working class Manchester was beset by unemployment and riots, the film tells the story of 17 year-old Steven (Lowden), a painfully shy, intellectually precocious loner who lives for, and writes about, the burgeoning local music scene-a surprisingly vibrant subculture in an otherwise drab industrial city. Too intimidated to join that scene, he writes reviews from the sidelines, imagining what he would do if he were on stage. When one of his write-ups is noticed by kindred spirit Linder Sterling (Brown Findlay), an aspiring painter, the two become fast friends, and she pushes him to form a band and take to the stage. Steven finally works up the courage to book a club date, and performs a dazzling cover of an old girl-group standard. This is the first time the world gets to hear the distinctive, emotion-filled voice that would eventually propel him to stardom.

That very night, a manager reaches out with an offer. Unfortunately, it's only for guitarist Billy, not the lead singer, meaning Steven will be left behind. His dreams of a musical career vanish and he's left with nothing but wasted days at a soul-crushing civil servant job, and lonely nights holed up in the same bedroom he's slept in his whole life. Only his mother's unwavering belief in his talent, and Linder's constant reminder-"be yourself, everyone else is taken"-give him the strength to keep trying to become the artist he was always meant to be.

Brian Perera
, founder of Cleopatra Entertainment, says "Our company has deep roots in music, so we couldn't more excited to bring this film over here to US audiences and to Morrissey's enormous fan base."

Director Gill, who also wrote the screenplay (with William Thacker), burst onto the international film scene with his 2011 short film, "The Voorman Problem," which earned him an Academy Award-nomination for Best Live Action short, as well as a BAFTA nomination. Lowden's stage work (which has already earned him the UK's highest honor, the Olivier Award) was recently featured in Christopher Nolan's "Dunkirk," and films such as "A United Kingdom" and "'71."

Since capturing, and breaking, hearts as Lady Sybil in the smash success "Downton Abbey," Brown Findlay has also been seen in "Winter's Tale," "The Riot Club" and "Victor Frankenstein."

Baldwin Li, Gill's producer and fellow "Voorman" Oscar-nominee, produced ENGLAND IS MINE along with Orian Williams, producer of Anton Corbijn's "Control," the multi-award-winning biopic of Ian Curtis and the band Joy Division.

Beside Bowie: The Mick Ronson Story

The more you know...

With exclusive voice-over contributions from David Bowie, this film is a celebration of the life and works of guitar virtuoso Mick Ronson, a rock hero virtually uncelebrated despite his direct contribution and involvement in countless compositions, lyrics and recordings that changed the face of music forever.

An Emperor Media Ltd production, documentary special Beside Bowie: The Mick Ronson Story(101:50 minutes) is from award-winning producer/director Jon Brewer. Mick Ronson's humble beginnings in Hull, England underpinned his values and modest, unpretentious personality as he worked with the city's council whilst pursuing his craft with consummate dedication.

Soon word of his talent reached David Bowie, who grabbed at the chance to work with Ronson, in what would become a career-long association, alongside collaborations with other greats such as Bob Dylan, Ian Hunter, Lulu, Lou Reed, Morrissey and John MellencampThe Man Who Sold the World, Aladdin Sane, Hunky Dory, The Jean Genie - all were constructed with Ronson on guitar.

Sadly in 1993, while working on a solo album, Ronson passed away before receiving the recognition he so richly deserved or before taking that final bow. Now, with unprecedented access to archival backstage footage - never before released - and iconic imagery from superstar photographer Mick Rock, this fascinating and at times controversial special reveals the ultimate authentic chronicle of the career of a cornerstone of rock.

Producer and director Jon Brewer commented, "Both Mick Ronson and David Bowie together were the ultimate duo. They performed and recorded like magicians and created masterpieces that will live on forever."

Beside Bowie: The Mick Ronson Story is distributed in the US by MVD Entertainment Group via Blu-ray + DVD, transactional video on demand, and download to own rights from international distributor Content Media following the Parade Deck Films theatrical release .

Holiday Cooking With Morrissey & Nick Cave

I'll show you a Vegan, or two!

Two new, colorful books influenced by two of today's greatest musical icons are out now to help readers survive the holidays.

Defensive Eating with Morrissey invites the reader to create strange and delightful recipes good enough to console even Moz on his saddest days. Comfort Eating with Nick Cave shows the great master of emotional expression stuffing himself with comfort classics while shedding the occasional solitary tear.

While getting over a breakup, Automne Zingg spent a lot of time drawing and listening to music, and these two books are the unique result. Each book features 50 portraits of the artist soothing himself with delicious, comforting meals, from mac and cheez to mushy peas. Every picture is accompanied by a seriously delicious recipe infused with lyrics and humor.

Best yet, all the recipes are vegan, so everyone can enjoy these delights, even Morrissey!

A Few Of My Favorite Things: Morrissey & Pamela Anderson

Pamela & Morrissey Sitting In A Tree...
Two of my favorite things, Morrissey & Pamela Anderson have joined forces for the video "Earth is the Loneliest Planet" a spoken word piece by the big M himself.

I encountered Morrissey once at The Viper Room in Los Angeles when he was there to see a band that I was there to see Girl in a Coma, an all female group with a name that "yes" was a homage to the Morrissey song "Girlfriend in a Coma" thus it made for an overall too cool for school evening.

Also I have interviewed the delightful Ms. Anderson for Instinct magazine when it was good for a great column they used to have "The Chick We'd Switch For."

When I posed the question "If you were gay for one day would you want that experience to be as a man or a woman?"

She enthusiastically said "A man . I have so many gay male friends and hear so many great stories."

To which I replied "What would you want to do as a gay man?"

Pamela quipped "If I was a gay man I would know how to give a better blow job ."

This is verbatim as I just transcribed it from a copy of the magazine with my interview in it.

Yep, you guys made my week!

10 Stupid Questions With: Matthew Duffy

In anticipation of his upcoming EP, "Spunk Pumpers Unite" (to be released February 2012), Matthew Duffy wants to introduce you to his latest single, "Homosapien," which is a cover of the Pete Shelley (Buzzcocks) song from 1981. Matthew also covers (not in the literal sense) "Angel, Angel Down We Go Together" from Morrissey which he recorded as a tribute to the LGBT community. "The increasing bullying, suicides, & isolation of our community makes me so upset and frustrated and when I was growing up this song gave me confidence to never give up" Duffy states. Very well put. OK, Matthew time to get stupid....

MS: Why should Spunk pumpers unite?

MD: To save the world from misery by delivering muscles and magic to the people of earth.

MS: Are you in love with Morrisey?

MD: I really just want to make out with him while simultaneously stroking his pompadour

MS: Girl in a Coma is, do you know who they are?

MD: No but my sources tell me it's really serious.

MS: What song gives you confidence?

MD: "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor

MS: Do you consider yourself a homosapien, too?

MD: I am indeed homo erectus and homosapien, like you.

MS: Define Buzzcock?

MD: Drunk dancing at the east village watering hole.

MS: Is that something you do regularly?

MD: Yes! At least once a day & twice on Sunday.

MS: Peanut Butter & Jelly, or another combo?

MD: Peanut Butter, Thick Cut Bacon, Banana, & Honey.

MS: Because the wind is high it blows your….?

MD: Beef curtains open

MS: WTF, does Matthew Duffy think he is?

MD: He is SPUNKY. Enjoys getting DRUNKY. And he likes Ryan Gosling cause he be HUNKY.
