I bet when you saw my byline you thought I was going to announce a follow-up to the movie Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, correct? 

Sadly that is not the case, but April 2017 will mark an anniversary for the awesome twosome, it will have been 20 years, yes 20, since they took their hilarious road trip to Sagebrush High for their High School Reunion! File this under one more thing that makes me feel old.

Who could forget these two wild and crazy gals and how much fun they were? Mira Sorvino as Romy White &  Lisa Kudrow as Michele Weinberger were one of the most memorable dream teams to hit the silver screen.

So start planning those 20th anniversary screening parties and know that I'm the Mary and your the Rhoda!

Being that it's Monday and such, I thought it appropriate to kick off the week with Katy Perry performing her latest song Chained To The Rhythm at the iHeartRadio Music Awards last night.

Ms. Perry has come a long way from when she was a mere pop tart singing I Kissed A Girl. First off she is no longer a brunette, she is now platinum blonde. Also her music as an artist has grown to new heights with her current 80's style political song Chained To The Rhythm.

Part of the video depicts the customers at the amusement park where it is set going round in circles on a hamster wheel, thus my feeling it is the perfect song to kick off Monday, or not depending on your world view. I personally try to live my life to the fullest and stay positive. Part of that is being aware of everything and taking it all in not just the "good" - I firmly believe part of being happy is being aware.

I will confess I am currently obsessed with this single, I can't get enough of it I think it's brilliant. Yep,I just used the "B" word. It reminds me not to view everything with rose colored glasses on using my favorite medium, music.

It's "Feud" Sunday!

In case you have been living under a rock tonight the FX limited series Feud premieres. What's it about you ask, boy you really need to get out more. It's about the legendary Hollywood feud between Bette Davis & Joan Crawford.

The show has been getting a lot of hype due in no small part to the fact that it pairs two real life acting legends Jessica Lange as Crawford and Susan Sarandon as Davis. While that is all well and a good reason to tune in, there is someone else in the cast who is deserving of just as much attention.

Kiernan Shipka who portrayed Sally Draper on Mad Men is going to set her relationship status to complicated when she appears as the daughter of Bette Davis BD Hyman. 

Shipka is a quite magnetic and gifted actress and is sure to chew her fair share of scenery when she spars with Sarandon as her on screen Mother (read into that word choice what you will.)

It's official. Girls Just Want To Have Fundamental Rights!

Grammy, Emmy, and Tony Award-winning artist and activist Cyndi Lauper has designed and released her official “Girls Just Want To Have Fundamental Rights” t-shirt. Inspired by the menagerie of protest signs using this empowering slogan during the worldwide Women’s March that took place on January 21st, Cyndi has partnered with Omaze in honor of Women’s History Month to raise vital funding for Planned Parenthood and the True Colors Fund.

“As I marched down the streets of New York City in January amongst a beautiful array of people of every sex, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, and nationality, I was blown away to see so many people embracing the message of “Girls Just Want To Have Fundamental Rights’ on their handmade signs,” said Cyndi Lauper. “Seeing this anthem continue to empower so many people to speak out and get involved, I was inspired to find new ways to further spread this powerful message of equality and justice for all. Another week has passed and the Academy Awards made history twice in one show can you believe it?! One time for something progressive and liberal and another for the biggest error on an Oscar telecast ever. So big that even if you didn't tune in, you heard about it all over the news.

Never fear I am here this week to address both of those moments and more. It's time for me to crack that whip!

Moonlight, which happened to be my favorite film of the year, won the Best Picture Oscar. Thus making Academy Award history as the first film with an all black cast to do so.

Whatever actually went down backstage and on stage Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty made Oscar history by announcing the incorrect Best Picture winner as La La Land only to have some dude from Price Waterhouse come and make the situation right.

Am I the only one who sees a commercial for Kong: Skull Island and thinks Kong: Skull Fuck Island?

I was pleased Emma Stone won Best Actress for La La Land. The film, while entertaining was incredibly overrated. She really elevated the material and brought a lot of depth and heart to her role.

OK, Cher fans tell me what you see when you glance at this photo of Nicki Minaj shooting a video in Miami? If you thought Holy Shades of Cher I completely understand and relate as I did too!

Yes Darling Nicki there are those of us out there who recognize this look is a copy of one that the Goddess Cher donned back in her Sonny & Cher days. So that means we are basically old, and don't win any sort of prize other than the privilege to be smug.

Oddly no one has pointed this fact out with the blurbs that accompany this image on the WWW. My guess is either they are too young to know, or perhaps they do know and decided to let old people like myself have a smug time.

Whatever the case Cher wore it best and it shows Nicki has good taste in the inspiration department.
