Film Buff Friday: Invasion of the Body Snatchers

As we come closer to Halloween expect mass quantities of horror here at Entertain Me. Psssst! In case you didn't know I am a horror fan.

Thus I present to you Invasion of the Body Snatchers from 1956. It's of the science fiction/horror variety and it is considered one of the best and most thought-provoking movies of the genre.

I'm not gonna give anything away, but here's a hint: the title is quite literal.

Wanna know more? Of course you do, so why not saunter over to my buddy Jay Jacobson's Classic Movie Blog and see his detailed and fact filled write-up.

Andrew is a tad more on the modest side than Jonah, he gives us skin, but does not go Full Monty. While Jonah on the other hand is a giver, all the way!

Happiness Is...

Emmy Worthy
Jason Sudeikis

In case you were living in a fog bank, whether you partook or not, last night The Emmy Awards happened.

"Yes" happiness is winning an Emmy Minions. While I am thrilled that Kate Winslet and Jean Smart won. I am shall we say excited in a different kind of way that Jason Sudeikis won for Ted Lasso.

Why you are asking? Just look at him, that's correct I said look at him. So adorbs and just downright yummy!

Very rarely do I crush on a celebrity, but there's something about Jason. Judging by his popularity I am quite sure I am not alone in this infatuation.

Roll into your week with all things Jason, Jason, Jason. Marcia, Marcia, Marica has nothing on him!

Songs From The Vault

Lo-Flo Records to Release

Songs from the Vault: Reel #2

Featuring the Voice of Tami Lynn

The Second Installment of a Series Dedicated to

Exploring the Archives of

Prolific Songwriter Jane McNealy

Out September 17, 2021

Lo Flo Records to release Songs from the Vault: Reel #2, the second installment in an ongoing archival series which aims to explore the immense songwriting catalog of artist Jane McNealy. Truly unable to be pigeon-holed, McNealy follows up Reel #1’s soft folk Americana offering with these three soulful R&B ballads written in 1979/1980 featuring the incredible performances of vocalist Tami Lynn. Songs from the Vault: Reel #2 will be out September 17, 2021. To learn more about McNealy and her work, please visit https://linktr.ee/loflorecords.

This upcoming release collects three compositions from McNealy’s catalog: “Where Are You Now,” the opener, “Make It Happen,” and the jazz standard “One Day At A Time.” Although each track is unique in its own right, these songs are connected by McNealy’s keen ability to write about matters of the heart. The first song, expressing bittersweet memories conjured by a past love, sets the tone for Reel #2. These deep emotional stakes of romance continue with “Make It Happen.” If the previous song is a plea to an old lover to take her back, “Make It Happen” is a wish that the first stirrings of love will grow to something beautiful and lasting. Finally, the direction of Reel #2 changes with the jazzy “One Day At A Time.” This song is actually an alternate recording of a track included in McNealy’s June 2021 album of the same name. It features McNealy’s talent for emotional storytelling through the eyes of a weary traveler speeding through a metropolis on a train. With Songs from the Vault, Reel: #2, McNealy truly showcases the power of love and longing as captured by song, and Tami Lynn’s performances glide effortlessly from passionate and assured to searching and heavy heartbreak.
