Strong

Garcelle Beauvais

Tonight is the night when the ladies of Beverly Hills go at it! That's correct The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs tonight on Bravo.

I spied this portrait of Garcelle Beauvais straight outta her Instagram page and loved it.

Thus I thought I would post it in honor of Black History Month and RHOBH day.

While all of the adjectives apply to Ms. Beauvais I felt the one that encompasses her the most was: Strong.

Being a Black Woman in the Entertainment Industry who is successful takes a lot of strength.

I will extrapolate no further as I can not speak to her life experience past this piece of knowledge.

This being stated I will be tuning in tonight for RHOBH, "yes" it's my Tuesday evening "thing"

Don't put away the snow shovels yet. Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, predicting six more weeks of winter on Groundhog Day 2025...

It already feels like the Ice Age so why not?

Sunday Funday indeed...

LYRICS:

Your eyes looked so tired
That’s what I thought first
You were greatly admired
But you were dying of thirst
There were comebacks
Felt like thumbtacks
On your fingertips so fine
You belonged to the many
Never yours never mine
Weren’t we lonely
Weren’t we sad
Weren’t we beautiful
Weren’t we bad
Funny man
Turn and ran
In the sun
Golden one
Funny man
I’m your fan
When you died
Oh how we cried
I was just a kid
You were just a king
Everything you did
A prayer and a wing
You always got my name wrong
Apologies the same song
That you sang to me
Words that set me free
Weren’t we lonely
Weren’t we sad
Weren’t we beautiful
Weren’t we bad

Weren’t we lonely
Weren’t we sad
Weren’t we beautiful
Weren’t we bad

I can’t forgive you
I can’t relive you
I can’t revive you
But I survive you

Funny man
Turn and ran
In the sun
Golden one
Funny man
I’m your fan
When you died
Oh how we cried
Funny man
Morbid plan
Hearts you wrung
Gone and done
Funny man
How you ran
Always mine
Never die
Funny man
We all do the best that we can
Funny man
We all do the best that we can

Margaret previously announced she will release a brand new album via her Clownery Records label on February 14, 2025 with the first single and title track, “Lucky Gift” HERE out now. The full album of Lucky Gift is also available to pre-order HERE

On “Lucky Gift,” (which was written by Margaret and produced by Garrison Starr here ) Margaret sings in a sultry-pop tone while playing her double neck mandolin-guitar, “The Mandotar.”  “This is my power pop anthem and the first song I wrote on my mandotar. It is definitely giving gay pop in the best way and it’s my favorite song I’ve ever written.” states Margaret.

It’s been 8 years since Margaret released her 2016 Grammy nominated American Myth album HERE

which featured the standout track “Anna Nicole” here written about her friendship with Anna Nicole-Smith.

Margaret says of the forthcoming Lucky Gift album – “I am thrilled to share this album which has been many years in the making. There’s tributes to Robin Williams, lost love, found love and anthems to non- binary and gender non-conforming folx. I collaborated with Garrison Starr and Roger Rocha in different cities at different times but it all feels like it comes from the same place and the same heart.”

Michael's Musings

Michael Shinafelt

I suppose one could qualify the above quote straight outta Dorothy Parker as a "Current Mood" type of thing given the climate. Hey, one always has to be ready for a take down these days and honestly it's not that hard to do given the mindset of most people.

Yeah, I was born ready baby! Hi ho, hi ho, it's time for the more one knows...

Please do not feed the pigs, that's all

These days I watch serial killer documentaries to relax, discuss

Why is gay bashing considered free speech but saying Happy Holidays is religious persecution?!

Plant City here I come!!!

Did you ever think you'd see the day when eggs were like contraband

Cardi B got her butt crack pierced, and aren't you happy???

How can you defund cancer research and claim you are pro life

Pee Wee Herman comes out posthumously in his documentary. Uh, I never thought he was in.

Woman Crush of the Week - Reese Witherspoon as Bradley Jackson on The Morning Show.
Her portrayal of this multi faceted character is pitch perfect!

Josh Lucas is so hot on Palm Royale!!!

Have you seen the commercial Cher did for Uber Eats? Epic!

It's Thursday, or as I refer to it Law & Order: SVU day, so there!

So if my friends lose rights and you are okay with that or celebrate it, get the F#ck out of my life!!!

Now for some peace of mind, "Yes" I mean yoga at the cemetery

Hang with me here -

Hump Day & Chill

After a long year let's Hump Day & Chill to some pussy, as in Catherine Deneuve with her cat that is (I know what you were thinking...)

Some of you out there are cool, but no one will ever be Catherine Deneuve cool.

While I am a admirer of her work my most favorite film she did was Luis Bunuel's Belle de Jour. Where she played a bored housewife who turns tricks at a local brothel during the day.

Actually I can not in good conscience fail to mention my other favorite film she has done. She was cast to perfection as Miriam Blaylock in The Hunger. Where she was so chic, and "yes" cool as as a centuries old vampire.

See I told you none of you could ever be Catherine Deneuve cool...
