Venom

On March 25th, Blue Underground proudly presents the world premiere of the British horror-thriller classic Venom on 4K UHD + Blu-ray, in a brand-new 4K restoration packed with bonus content.  

Venom stars Susan George (Straw Dogs) and Oliver Reed (The Devils) as a maid and chauffeur who conspire with international terrorist Klaus Kinski (Nosferatu the Vampyre) to kidnap the grandson of their rich boss Sterling Hayden (Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb). Their simple plan falls apart when the grandson brings home a snake that turns out to be a deadly Black Mamba. The aggressive reptile gets loose in the posh London apartment and the abduction turns into a fight for survival.  

Venom was directed by Piers Haggard (The Blood on Satan's Claw) and is based on the novel by best-selling author Alan Scholefield (Great Elephant). The kidnapping drama/horror film features an all-star cast, including Nicol Williamson (Excalibur), Sarah Miles (Blow-Up), and Cornelia Sharpe (Serpico).  

The 4K UHD + Blu-ray Edition’s special features include an archival audio commentary with Director Piers Haggard; new audio commentary with film historians Troy Howarth, Nathaniel Thompson and Eugenio Ercolani; new video interviews with Editor/Second Unit Director Michael Bradsell, Makeup Artist Nick Dudman, Author & Critic Kim Newman, and The Dark Side’s Allan Bryce; Trailers; TV spots; and Still Gallery. First Pressing includes embossed slipcover and collectible booklet with essay by Michael Gingold.

This past weekend I visited the Magic Kingdom at Disneyworld in Orlando, FL  with one of my oldest and dearest friends Karen Castrischer-Stegall, it was indeed magic! The above photo is of me watching the fireworks show, Karen being the savvy photog she is captured the moment. Looking up into the night sky with the colorful, happy light display brought joy and hope to my being and made me think dreams and wishes do indeed come true.

"Yes" Minions that is a cow standing amongst the foliage in the Kissimmee River, FL. How did I get to see this unusual site? I was on a airboat tour with my friend Karen on said river, that's how. BTW if you ever get a chance to go for a tour on an airboat I highly recommend it! 

What the heck was the cow doing in the river you ask?! Judging by it's demeanor and the fact that temperatures were in the 80's this Cool Cow is chilling.

Un-bothered by anything this Cool Cow just stood there like everything was groovy. This being said Karen and I also saw many alligators and their offspring in the river as well.

Here's hoping the Cool Cow didn't become an alligator's dinner! Hump Day & Chill Minions!

"Pretty girls should always smile!" - The Substance 

Did you catch Demi Moore winning for Best Actress at The Critics Choice Awards? I didn't I did however see the speech she gave online the next day. Congratulations Ms. Moore between this and the Golden Globe (and most likely SAG Award) you are Oscar bound! 

Deservedly so! I watched The Substance for the second time with a friend this weekend and it loved it even Moore! (pun intended) You see more layers and detail making the impact of everything going on in the film bigger!

So did you catch Demi's sly fashion choice on the Red Carpet designed by Schiaparelli? "Yes" it was a homage to her character Elisabeth Sparkle in the film, ya know where she gets stitched up by Sue.

Loved it! Demi Moore for the win!

Here are some words of inspiration from The Sword in the Stone for some Monday Motivation. Along with me trying to pull the actual sword from the stone at the Magic Kingdom in Disneyworld resort in Orlando, FL this weekend.

Did I succeed and get to fly like all men want? Alas I did not, but that doesn't mean I'll give up trying. If not extracting the sword from it's stone throne, then I will find another way.

Welcome To Tampa, FL

I'm sure many of you know of the notorious John Waters movie Pink Flamingos? Well when I spied this lovely sight it was the first thing I thought of.

"Yes" Minions I present to you Pink Flamingo. It was the first thing of beauty I saw when I entered the Tampa International Airport yesterday as I was headed to baggage claim.

I loved seeing this majestic beast as a welcome to the city of Tampa, FL.

So in case you haven't guessed I am here, to visit with my friend Karen and today we are headed to Disneyworld.

"Yes" I am going to regress and get Younger (which I am currently binging on Netflix)
