Hello From The Other Side...

Tis the last Thursday of Pride Month. How did I spend the final week of it?! Getting cataract surgery, Yay!

Well now I can see and taking care of one's self is also a form of Pride. You have only one body use it well, wisely and have fun along the way!

Thus in this week's musings column I'm simply leaving you with these parting thoughts regarding Pride. Simple yet, profound and something to reflect on as we move into July and the rest of our lives.

And of course we have the Woman Crush of the Week. It's LGBTQ icon and activist Madonna posing with the flag of our many colors of the rainbow.

As Pride Month winds down I am reminded of two of the things that makes me thankful to be gay. My understanding of camp and good bad movies.

Thus we are going to Hump Day & Chill to a movie that is both of the abovementioned things, Saturn 3.

Here is the plot:

A couple of space-station dwellers are menaced by a scientist and his amorous android. The robot is dismantled but soon finds a way of putting his parts back in the right order and continuing his quest.

I can hear your collective snickers already. Pretty silly no? Yet so damned bad and entertaining!

For the record Farrah looks stunning as per usual and Kirk Douglas is in damned good shape as her older lover. In fact there is scene where we see his quite supple booty and it looks so yummy!

Harvey Keitel does his Harvey Keitel crazy thing that he does and he does it so well. Then there's Hector the renegade robot, one of the best bad cinema moments is seeing Hector lust after Farrah. "Yes" it's terrible, amazing and unbeleivable all rolled into one.

So grab your favorite adult beverage and Hump Day & Chill Minions Saturn 3 is a trip, literally!!!

After viewing an Anna Nicole Smith documentary on Netflix recently, and also that Pride Month is still in full tilt boogie. I felt a combination of two of my favorite things would be in order.

Thus we are going to Hump Day & Chill to LGBTQ ally Anna in the West Hollywood Pride Parade in 2005.

Anna was always on when she was in public and then some. The one take away I had of her was despite the many thoughts and opinions others had, is she was a genuinely a sweet and loving soul.

Her support of the community was 100% sincere as was her love of others in general.

The legendary George Takei is serving up the gay presiding over the to do as the Icon Grand Marshall.

To answer your question "No" I won't be attending. While I love Pride and all that it stands for I don't care for crowds and the pomp and cricumstance that accompanys a parade."Yes" I am basically saying "I'm too old for that noise" LOL!
