"Yes" this mother and daughter are doppelgangers, look-alikes if you will, resulting in a case of: Double Vision.
Seriously though Grier looks like her Mom in her heyday when she was a teen model and movie sensation in such films as Pretty Baby, The Blue Lagoon & Endless Love.

Thus I present to you Invasion of the Body Snatchers from 1956. It's of the science fiction/horror variety and it is considered one of the best and most thought-provoking movies of the genre.
I'm not gonna give anything away, but here's a hint: the title is quite literal.
