Hump Day & Chill

Today is May The 4th as in "May The 4th Be With You." Thus we are going to Hump Day & Chill by honoring the celebration of Star Wars fans everywhere!

What's that you ask? Am I a Star Wars fan? Well yes and no. When I was younger and the movies first came out I was a HUGE fan of the original trilogy. The prequels not so much.

After the prequels (which sucked) I never went back to the series when it had it's recent reboot with The Force Awakens. I had lost interest, out grown the series if you will at that point. Even the originals which I loved dearly in my youth hold little to no interest to me anymore.

But a silly fan celebration like this is always fun to acknowledge and adds some levity to ones day.

Thus I hereby decree we Hump Day & Chill to Star Wars - May The 4th Be With You Minions!!!

"Mouth Shut"

Whether you posted something that didn't go over well, or you accidentally sent a text to the wrong person, we all have had foot in mouth disease at some point. Sometimes you wish you would have just kept it to yourself is the impetus behind Lit’s new single, “Mouth Shut” HERE available today.  You can also watch the lyric video HERE. “Mouth Shut” is off their long-awaited seventh studio album, Tastes Like Gold due June 17, 2022 Via Round Hill Records which you can pre-order HERE.

Lead guitarist Jeremy Popoff says, “We wanted to get back to the old school Lit sound with a modern day approach to the production.  It took a minute to get our heads in the right place, especially with all of the craziness going on in the world.  We started writing and making demos with Carlo Colasacco and YOUTHYEAR and we knew we had tapped into the vibe we were looking for. Tastes Like Gold is the album we wanted to make.”  Tastes Like Gold, produced by Carlo Colasacco, YOUTHYEAR & Lit features No Doubt’s Adrian Young, Butch Walker and American Authors

The band also recently released the track, “Kicked Off The Plane” HERE  and lyric video HERE. Both “Mouth Shut” and the autobiographical “Kicked Off The Plane” follow “Yeah Yeah Yeah”- HERE  (live performance video HERE & official video HEREwhich was the first single from Tastes Like Gold.

Current Mood

Doll Parts
Olivia Rodrigo

Hello to the first week of May 2022. I hope this finds all of you Minions in a good place, or at least one that is solid.

We have arrived at the first Monday of the month and Olivia Rodrigo with a doll on the streets of New York, captures my Current Mood right here, right now.

Maybe it's Olivia's excitement over something so simple, or perhaps the whimsy of the moment that was captured. Whatever the case, this gives me Good Vibes Only and feels fitting to our current month of May.

Hey, to me May has always felt like a new beginning and nothing captures that like Ms. Rodrigo's obvious enthusiasm (say that three times fast!!!)

Thus today I decree we go forth and bend it like Olivia Rodrigo...

Happy May Day!

May Day
Grace Jones

  1. May 1, celebrated in many countries as a traditional springtime festival or as an international day honoring workers.

Hello May and Happy May Day! As you can see there are two different ways to celebrate May 1st. Here in the US we lean more toward the "springtime festival" thing.

At Entertain Me it is a Grace Jones thing. "Yes" Ms. Jones played one of the best James Bond villains ever in A View To A Kill named, May Day, naturally. Hell she was the best thing about that particularly not so good Bond Movie.

So Happy May Day and get your Grace Jones freak on!!!

Saturday Sinema: Wild Things

"[It's got] Neve Campbell and Denise Richards making out, all the plot twists and double-crossing of a James Ellroy novel, Neve Campbell and Denise Richards having a catfight in a swimming pool and Bill Murray as a sleazy neck-brace-wearing lawyer."

     —Tom Nawrocki, Rolling Stone

A spoiled rich kid, a troubled teen from the wrong side of the tracks, a carefree playboy and a dogged detective find themselves all caught up in the sex crime of the century in this steamy star-studded crime thriller from the director of Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. Popular and charming, student counsellor Sam Lombardo (Matt Dillon) is no stranger to being the focus of female attention within the moneyed cliques of Florida's Blue Bay. His fortunes are about to change dramatically, however, when one of the wealthiest students at his high school, sultry siren Kelly Van Ryan (Denise Richards), accuses him of rape. The charge looks sure to stick when another girl from the other end of the social spectrum, Suzie Toller (Neve Campbell), steps forward with her own allegations, but Detective Duquette (Kevin Bacon) smells something fishy, and the truth is as murky and dangerous as the alligator-infested swamps in the hinterlands of this affluent beach community. Presented in new 4K restorations of its original theatrical version and extended 'Unrated Edition', Wild Things is a classic piece of sexy late-90s neo-noir from director John McNaughton and writer Stephen Peters, whose serpentine plotting will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end credits roll.

First Headshot Time!

Since everyone has been posting their first headshots this week I thought I'd play along.

Here I am at 18 shiny and new, like a virgin touched up for the very first time.

I was living in the Seattle area at and the shots were taken by a guy named Steven Strickland.

Being as it was my first shoot, it was a little awkward, but still fun as I recall.

Anyway Happy Friday Minions!
