Pride/BLM

Dwayne Wade, Zaya Wade & Gabrielle Union
As everyone knows by now Pride Festivals & Festivities are cancelled this year, this being stated with all of the necessary Black Lives Matter protests going on around the world today in Los Angeles the two will join forces.

In lieu of Pride there is a BLM march scheduled to take place at 11 am starting at Hollywood and Highland (the location of the first Gay Pride in Los Angeles) and ending in West Hollywood, the current home to Pride in LA.

While I am not planning on marching because of the current pandemic, I would if there wasn't one. I am wishing all of those who are well and please be safe.

Also Happy 13th Birthday to Zaya Wade, daughter of NBA Superstar Dwayne Wade and Actress Gabrielle Union. Her actual DOB is May 29th whose parents threw her a party this past Friday that combined the themes of medieval and pride.

In case you didn't know Zaya is transgender and proud stepmom Gabrielle had this to say to her on her special day:

"You are such an inspiration and motivation to get my butt up everyday and fight," she wrote. "When I'm weary, frustrated, full of rage, I see your face and your joy and you living your best life and I want that for all of us. I love you sooooo much kid!! Enjoy this day and everyday knowing you are loved, protected, respected, admired and celebrated."

Whatever you choose to do today, make it a celebration

Who's That Girl?

The Name Game
Face Masks may be the best thing to happen to celebrities seeking anonymity in public. Seriously, I swear I saw a friend of mine and her BF the other day, out and about and it turned out to be a couple that merely resembled them. Hey, all I could see was them from the eyes up, so it was an honest case of mistaken identities. Luckily I realized it wasn't them before I went to engage the pair in conversation.

Thus here we have a celebrity out grocery shopping with her mask on. While I most likely would not notice most famous people out and about in their masks, this one I would, hey she's a one of a kind that always stands out. She could wear a potato sack and a her mask and I bet I would still recognize her.

So, tell me Who's That Girl? C'mon I know you know who this is....

If you guessed (As If you would you not know who this is) Miley Cyrus, you have astute observation for the obvious, congratulations!

Carry on -

Michael's Musings

Michael Shinafelt

"You need to just stop
Like can you just not step on my gown?
You need to calm down"
You Need To Calm Down, Taylor Swift

While I understand there are many things to give one pause in the world today, let's keep them in perspective. "Yes" there are some things that should anger/upset/disturb you. Then there's things that the Karen's of the world get mad at.

PS you know who you are and what I'm am addressing, uh-huh, I'm gonna leave that here. Moving on Minions...

Hey Police, my 81 year old Mom has been practicing her falling skills FYI

Doesn't anyone watch Sesame Street anymore?!

There's a sucker born every minute, swallowers are harder to find - The more you know

If you could cure COVID19 by sacrificing just one human, who would it be and why did you choose Trump?

Dear Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute - WTF were you thinking?! Honestly I am surprised this took two years to come out. Neither of you can blame it on your youth either. How entitled of both of you to think you could call the cops on anyone for a crime they did not commit just because you were mad at them for cheating on a friend of yours. Let alone doing it to a Black Woman...Wow, just wow!

Hump Day & Chill

Don't Step On My Blue Suede Shoes
Elvis
"Elvis, Elvis, let me be
Keep that pelvis far from me" - Look At Me I'm Sandra Dee

You ain't nothing but a hound dog this Hump Day & Chill with none other than the King of Skin, Elvis! What?! You weren't actually expecting the King of Rock in the flesh now, were you? Were you???

While this Elvis does have his swagger it's of an entirely different kind, the carnal kind. Wait the other Elvis had that too, Hmmmmmmmm, how to define the difference is the question?

I have the answer to that question, see the difference for yourself by having a Hump Day & Chill moment and clicking on the link below to Tye Briggs Favorite Hunks & Other Things to enjoy the Full Elvis.

That's correct Minions, the Full Elvis, if you get my drift and I believe you do...

Where there's a will, there's a Hump Day & Chill after all!!!

Class Of 2020

The Immaculate Hear Of Mary
Class Of 2020

Michael Shinafelt
Congratulations to the Class of 2020, you made it! Too bad about the pandemic, but there have been many inventive and wonderful ways your graduation year has been and will be celebrated. For instance this past weekend when I was walking by The Immaculate Heart Of Mary they were having a parking lot graduation.

Basically everyone sat in their cars as the ceremony took place, when the students name was called out they were to don their mask and go up to the stage to accept their diploma. Clever, fun and still full of the possibility of the usual Graduation Day embarrassment.

People have taken to the streets to salute you and famous world figures have recorded special messages and songs on YouTube just for you.

Let's face it you special day may not have been the usual pomp and circumstance, but it will always be very special, because of how unique it was, you will have some very amazing memories when you look back on this. I am going to leave you with President Obama and his wife Michelle with their message to you.

Congrats to all of you, well done!!!

Monday Motivation

Black Lives Matter
Hollywood Blvd.

Today's Monday Motivation is real and spectacular! This is Hollywood Blvd. yesterday were it looks like practically all of Los Angeles turned out for the Black Lives Matter protest.

Whats amazing to me about this is not only did this happen during a pandemic, but this is way bigger than any crowd that Orange Caligula has drawn for anything he's ever done. No wonder Bunker Boy is scared and put up a fence around the White House.

Let this inspire and instill our faith in the good of people. I feel it's the perfect note to start your week off on.

"I awakened to the cry
That the people have the power
To redeem the work of fools
Upon the meek the graces shower
It' s decreed the people rule" - People Have The Power, Patti Smith
