With Baby Driver currently hot, hot, hot it seemed only fitting to show off it's even hotter star Ansel Elgort baring his upper body and pretty much the rest of it as well. Yep, Ansel is darn near naked in this photo of him in a barely there swimsuit, lucky us that he's such a giver. Although I have yet to see it, I hear Baby Driver is quite good and eventually I will give it a watch, but until them I will be content looking at this image of Ansel and wondering what's underneath those trunks. Join me won't you? Happy Saturday & other things! Ansel on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ansel/?hl=en
Lycan marks the feature debut of Bev Land. The horror / thriller based on the popular urban legend of the "Talbot County Werewolf". Parade Deck Films will handle the movie's theatrical release, followed by disc, digital and VOD platforms from MVD Entertainment.
Synopsis: When six college kids in a sleepy Southern town are assigned a group history project, one of them sets in motion a horrific fate when he proposes they head into the Georgia backwoods to uncover the truth about the hundred year old urban legend of Emily Burt, the "Talbot County Werewolf".
Lycan stars Dania Ramirez ("Devious Maids" X-Men: The Last Stand, American Reunion, Premium Rush), who will be starring this Fall on ABC's hit show "Once Upon a Time" as princess "Cinderella." The film boasts a strong ensemble cast that includes three-time Emmy Award nominee Gail O'Grady ("NYPD Blue", "Revenge", Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo), Parker Croft ("Little Big Lies", "Lewis and Clark"), Vanessa Angel (Kingpin, Hall Pass, "Weird Science"), Rebekah Graf (Entourage), Kalia Prescot (The Hunger Games), Jake Lockett (Transpecos), Alina Puscau (X/Y, Conan The Barbarian) and Craig Tate (12 Years a Slave, USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage).
Making his directorial debut with Lycan, Bev Land talks about his experience in bringing his vision to life with his co-producer and star (and wife), Dania Ramirez. "I knew that the journey of making this film independently would be a challenge filled with a tremendous amount of blood, sweat and tears (pun intended) and I know we have something special that genre fans are going to appreciate. Fortunately for me I was lucky enough to be able to take this journey with Dania, who I not only respect and adore as an artist, but someone I also love as a human being."
Lycan producer and star Dania Ramirez agrees...
"I am a firm believer that with hard work and dedication anything is possible. I have been in front of the camera for quite some time and I feel blessed to have been able to help lead the team that made this movie possible. When I met my talented husband, I said to him "I want to produce films"and Bev looked at me and said "Then let's do it together... I will write you a leading character with the dimension and depth that you are capable of playing but haven't had the opportunity and YOU will produce it for me!" The journey of independent film making doesn't allow much room for star like treatment and producing one proved to be more challenging than I could've ever imagined. Being the producer and star meant making every phone call and scheduling every shooting day also had to correspond with taking the necessary time to put on the clothes of my character and live in her before hearing the word "Action". I also want to add that Latin female leading roles are rare in this industry and this one I think is one of a kind. The sense of accomplishment I feel today having not only brought our baby "Lycan" into this world but now having Eric D. Wilkinson at MVD Entertainment and Michael Ingram at Parade Deck Films distribute the film is overwhelming."
Having followed the film's production and progress on the internet and social media, MVD Entertainment's Director of Acquisitions Eric D. Wilkinson reached out to Peter Van Steemburg at ICM Partners for an introduction to the filmmakers...
"I'm a huge fan of the horror genre and MVD Entertainment has been a long time supporter and champion of independent films. Peter gave me the opportunity to screen Lycan and I just loved it. I won't give away any spoilers but I will say that Lycan messes with your expectations throughout with an ending that you will not see coming!" In regards to getting Lycan into theaters, Wilkinson explains, "MVD has built a great partnership with Parade Deck Films. I was happy to share this movie with them because CEO Michael Ingram has done a great job in exposing some of these smaller movies theatrically, giving independent filmmakers a chance for their work to be seen by audience on the big screen, as they intended, and at the same time, help build awareness for the film after it's theatrical run for the VOD, digital and physical windows for the months following."
Lycan will open theatrically in select cities on August 4th, followed by disc, digital and VOD platforms from MVD Entertainment on September 26th. Pre-order the DVD now at MVDshop.comor at Amazon.
"Come on everybody, I say now let's play a game, I betcha I can make a rhyme out of any body's name. The first letter of the name' I treat it like it wasn't there" - The Name Game, Shirley Ellis For some random, yet most likely not one this song came into my mind this particular week. I am not about or above calling names when they are deserved. However I am responding to the timelessness of this song and it's many interpretations. Especially the iconic performance of Jessica Lange's rendition of it on American Horror Story: Asylum. This week we play the name game. Male sure you always wear underwear. David tells Variety magazine http://variety.com/2017/music/news/american-idol-david-cook-gimme-heartbreak-inspiration-halsey-1202497475/ that he made “a conscious effort going into the production to incorporate more cinematic pop elements.” Taking inspiration from recent releases — “I was listening to Halsey’s ‘Badlands’ record,” he reveals — Cook also leaned on “old standbys like Nine Inch Nails and Massive Attack” to find “vibes” for a new direction with “Gimme Heartbreak.”
“Gimme Heartbreak” is the lead track from David’s forthcoming untitled EP, which is slated to be released later this fall. David is again involving his fans in the EP making process via a PledgeMusic Campaign www.pledgemusic.com/davidcook.
“Gimme Heartbreak” is available on all digital providers and is the first new music from the multi-talented and multifaceted singer-songwriter since 2015’s Digital Vein album release, which debuted in the top 5 on Billboard’s Pop Chart. “Gimme Heartbreak” features David’s impressive strong vocals backed by synth beats "Gimme Heartbreak” feels like a new chapter to me. New direction, new energy. A new sound that I'm excited to share and build on,” says David.
Look on the on the red carpet in Berlin, Germany - It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Charlize Theron at the world premiere of her movie Atomic Blonde! Hooray! Yes, according to the hype Charlize will be portraying the first female 007, you know as in Blonde, James Blonde, although she seems to have a slightly more violent streak given the trailer I have seen and the films R rating. No matter, Charlize is one of the few women in film that audiences buy kicking ass. If I were going to see a movie of this ilk, AB would be it (and who knows I just might.) Charlize looks amazing as per usual, in her Dior outfit, no I am not a fashion queen it says Dior on her bra top, duh. Moving on July 28th is the day the Atomic Blonde drops, that's so lit! A pioneer amongst women in comedy, Margaret doesn’t take anything for granted as she continues to tackle difficult subjects with sensitivity and her razor sharp insight with her takes on addiction, abuse, activism and Asianness. It's all about the politics of disgust and what is disgusting about politics. Aptly titled, “Fresh OffThe Bloat,” Margaret says:
“Fresh Off The Bloat” is my sickest show to date. My grandmother said "You look like bloated as if you've been found dead in a lake after several days of searching." Koreans are the most savage of all the Asians. My new show is all about being fresh off drugs and drinking and suicide and coming back to life - finally fished out of the river Styx. It's meta. It's magical. It's me.”
The initial “Fresh Off The Bloat” tour dates go on sale Friday, July 21 here:http://margaretcho.com/tour/ - Please note that the December 6 show in Belgium will go on sale July 20.Additional dates to be announced in the coming weeks.
Margaret’s new TV project Highland has been picked up for pilot by TNT Network. Highland will chronicle what happens when two extended, dysfunctional Korean-American families who share the same patriarch must come together after tragedy strikes. As it turns out, the most reliable person in both families is the one who just got out of rehab.
"Executive producer Liz Sarnoff (Lost,Barry) and Margaret Cho's brilliant script exposes Margaret's warm heart and bracing humor, balancing powerful emotional truths with laugh-out-loud scenes and characters," said Sarah Aubrey, executive vice president of original programming for TNT. "Highland continues TNT's commitment to bringing diverse voices and worlds to television. We look forward to making a pilot with such a singular talent as Margaret Cho.”

Look it's Val Chmerkovskiy and he's striking it rich in the Duck Tales money bin at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, on Friday. Yep, the Dancing With The Stars pro has turned amateur and is trying to grab his loot from the vaults of Scrooge McDuck. That duck better have his money because I'm sure Scrooge, given his name, will do everything in his power to hold onto all the money he's got, whether it is his...or not! Be careful Scrooge I have a suspicion Val can go all gangsta on you Rihanna style if need be, and we've all seen how THAT turned out. As a special bonus he will dance on your grave too! It's just another Manic Monday after all. Val on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/iamvalc/?hl=en
