Michael's Musings

Can  You Feel It?
Michael Shinafelt

Hello Minions, so yesterday was 2/2/22 oh my! A marker of place and time for sure. Well someone out in the ether made the "clever" suggestion to make a time capsule on 2/2//22 for 3/3/33.

Wow! I admire their optimism, since I myself wonder if there will be anyone to open it. OK, I'll stop upsetting people with my bad self...Nah!

It has been a full time job staying moisturized this winter

FYI You not liking something doesn't make it "overrated" - not everything is for you 😎

So how has everyone's week been?

A reminder, February is Black History Month

January was a tough year, but we made it

Woman Crush of the Week - Janet Jackson, while I felt the documentary was basically a career overview, I was entertained and Janet shined bright like she always does.

Hump Day & Chill

They'll Be Back!
Jason Biggs & Mariska Hargitay

This week until February 24th is indeed quite Hump Day & Chill because Law & Order: SVU does not make it's way back on the air until then. They are currently shooting new episodes on the intrepid streets of New York.

Thus I bequeath you some behind the scenes action of Mariska Hargitay and Jason Biggs to help quench you thirstiness until then.

I'm quite the giver as you know.

To all you die hard Law & Order: SVU fans, like me, let's try to carry on as best we can until it returns and have ourselves a grand Hump Day & Chill!

Liar's Moon

MVD ENTERTAINMENT GROUP IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE DEBUT OF THE 1982 TEEN DRAMA “LIAR’S MOON” ON BLU-RAY COMING FEBRUARY 2022.

Matt Dillon (The Outsiders) stars in this tender tale of love’s first promise… and its enduring strength. Dillon plays Jack Duncan, an athletic, hardworking boy from the small town of Noble, Texas. Jack is happy just enjoying himself with the local boys, until he meets Ginny Peterson (Cindy Fisher), the town’s wealthiest young lady. Despite their obviously different backgrounds, Jack and Ginny fall desperately in love. Even though their parents have forbidden them to meet, Jack and Ginny sneak out, and finally elope, hoping to find happiness far from their hometown. But theirs is a love that falls prey to the sins of their elders - as the intrigue of two families reaches out an angry hand to its innocent victim in this touching, tragic story of youth, love and hope.

LIAR’S MOON not only celebrates its 40th Anniversary this year, it also cemented Matt Dillon’s status as a leading man in motion pictures (along with Disney’s Tex) after supporting turns in My Bodyguard, Over The Edge and Little Darlings. Along with actress Cindy Fisher (also in her first leading role after supporting turns in Hide in Plain Sight and The Blues Brothers), “Liar’s Moon” features a supporting cast of Hollywood legends including singer / songwriter / actor Hoyt Axton (Gremlins, Heart Like a Wheel), Yvonne DeCarlo (The Ten Commandments, “The Munsters”), Academy Award Nominee Susan Tyrrell (Fat City, Cry Baby), Richard Moll (House, “Night Court”) and Academy Award Winner Broderick Crawford (Born Yesterday, All the King’s Men).

“Liar’s Moon” not only boasts award winning talent in front of the camera. The classic film also features Academy Award Nominated editor Christopher Greenbury (American Beauty), acclaimed Cinematographer John Hora (Gremlins, Explorers) and producer Don P. Behrns (Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives, The Unseen).
Released theatrically in 1982 by Crown International Pictures and originally on home video by Vestron Video, “Liar’s Moon” has been long out of circulation. Award Winning filmmaker Richard Schenkman (Jerome Bixby’s The Man From Earth) has produced some amazing supplemental material for this brand new collector’s edition release that reunites the cast and crew for the first time in decades.

Current Feeling: Euphoria!

I Never Promised You A Rose Garden
Sydney Sweeney

OK, by now you all know I am an avid watcher/fan of the HBO series Euphoria. One particular aspect of it I enjoy is how literal the title is. The show dips in and out of consciousness via Zendaya's Rue Bennett.

Last night's episode culminated in an amazing montage that bounces from character to character observing their individual crises via Rue's drug induced lens.

The most stunning for this guy was the vision of Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) the heartbroken heartbreaker trapped in her vanity surrounded by garlands and flowers.

If you are a Euphoria fan you will understand the power of this image in the context of the show. If not well, that's fine it's still a powerful vision.

Can you believe it's the last day of January 2022?!

Have a Euphoric week!

Sunday Funday

Fatherly Advice
Skeet Ulrich & Melissa Barrera

Caught this behind the scenes photo of Skeet Ulrich and Melissa Barrera on the set of Scream having a Father/Daughter moment. Well sort of, Melissa plays Sam Carpenter who is the daughter of Skeet's psycho killer Billy Loomis from the original Scream.

Got it? Groovy! I assume at this point the bit of information contained above about the current Scream movie is not a spoiler, if it was my bad???

Anyway I love behind the scenes photos as they tell their own story and it's super duper fun to see the actors engaging with one another in between takes.

Hence Sunday Funday amusement for all, from me to you and the WWW to me. Do you follow? Of course you do...

Time to put on your best Sunday Ghostface!

One Night Only

Me, Margaret & Lucia

Last night I did something I, like most of you, rarely do. I went to a live show of comedy and music. Margaret Cho & Friends to be exact.

The one night only to do happened at Largo @ The Coronet, courtesy of my friend publicist extraordinaire Ken Phillips

You know the old adage "laughter is the best medicine?" well I am here to tell you I researched this last night and it truly is!

Me & Ken

Due to pandemic protocols masks and vaccination cards were required to enjoy the evening.

And guess what Minions?! A fun time was had by all!!!

Whatever you do today with your bad self be sure it includes laughter, it is something we all need during these, shall we say, interesting times.

Mic Drop!
