Just Because...Brad Pitt

Once Upon A Time...
Brad Pitt
Just Because he's at the premiere in Mexico City. Just Because I loved Once Upon A Time In...Hollywood & Just Because It's Brad, bitch. Here he is the man of the moment Brad Pitt!

While Brad has never had that Schwing factor for me, there is no denying he is one good looking man. Not to mention one good actor as well...

In fact if I were a betting man, which I am not (seriously I'm not) I would venture to place my money on Mr. Pitt finally nabbing an Oscar for his role of stuntman and possible felon Cliff Booth in Once Upon A Time In...Hollywood

Brad is perfection in the film. It's showcases his acting chops and is a good old fashioned Movie Star type turn to boot.

If you have yet to catch Once Upon A Time In...Hollywood, what are you waiting for?! Seriously, what???

Nostalgia's For Geeks

Edward vs Courtney
Edward Norton & Courtney Love
Memory is a powerful thing. It can trigger many emotions, and all of them are fine. I was brought back to a time I remember fondly today, the 90's - it was a Golden Era, for me at least. Movies were great and I actually wanted to see them. Music rocked and I actually wanted to listen to it.

So imagine my my 90's pop culture shock and awe when Courtney Love (yes, I was a big Hole fan. OK insert a dirty joke if you must) and Edward Norton, the it boy of that time. Who starred together in one of the better films of the 90's The People vs Larry Flynt became a couple. Imagine it at the time, do it and do it now!!!

"Yep" I was in a whole lotta 90's fantasia! The Grunge Queen of the 90's paired up with the Actor of the time, damn it does not get any better then this!

I miss that time in my life, in a nostalgic sort of way. But I am at my personal best right here, right now.

OK, time to be present and carry on minions, but always be, be, be nostalgic!

Just Because...Channing Tatum

I'm Gonna Strut
Channing Tatum
Just Because I am feeling loopy today, Just Because pigs are going to fly and Just Because he has a really cool name - here is Channing Tatum strutting the streets of London. Not walking them, then he would be a street walker

While I don't get particularly turned on by Mr. Tatum like a majority you minions do, his presence is quite winning and as stated above, what other actor has as cool a name as he does? Yeah, I knew you couldn't give me an answer to that, because there isn't one.

Moving on, I really don't have much more to extrapolate on regarding al things Channing. Other than Tatum does have a quite well proportioned body and I am sure, despite the fact that he doesn't do much for me in the nether region, he is a really good shag.

Mic Drop!

The Woman Behind The Mask

Peek-A-Boo
Guess Who?
Here is a pic of one of last night's SAG Award nominees for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Mini Series or Television Movie.

She posted it to her Instagram page with the caption: "Who's ready for the SAG Awards? #sagawards #biglittlelies

The nominee also went home empty handed. If you guessed Laura Dern, you guessed correctly. What's that? Do you win something? Uh, no.

While I did not watch the award show, I do enjoy seeing the photos post all the pomp & circumstance.

Particularly of celebrities preparing for their big night who do not shy away from making themselves look silly.

Thus my SAG Award for Best Instagram pre-show selfie goes to Ms. Dern!

Keep on doing you Ms. Thang!

Presenting - Honey West

There's a new Honey West in town...

This bad, old world gets exponentially better today, as HONEY WEST releases Bad Old World (Readout Records), an explosive collection introducing a remarkable and unusual songwriting collaboration between unassuming British rock titan Ian McDonald, founding member of both Foreigner and King Crimson, and noted Shakespearean actor Ted Zurkowski, a pillar of New York’s theater community by way of world-renowned method acting haven The Actors Studio.

Though constructed on the fundamental foundation of two guitars, bass and drums, the mirthful music on Bad Old World ― which multi-instrumentalist McDonald also produced ― is sophisticated and multi-textured, thanks to the indispensable instrumental and compositional talents of McDonald, and the sly, knowing word craft of lead singer-guitarist and co-composer Zurkowski.

McDonald maintains that his songwriting partner’s cunning way with words was hisraison d’etre for joining HONEY WEST in the first place.
“Ted’s lyrics are very smart,” says McDonald. “I like smart lyrics, I like smart music. This ended up being a really good partnership.”

Aiding and abetting McDonald and Zurkowski in HONEY WEST is a troupe of top-shelf musicians including drummer Steve Holley, whose credits include, among other notable artists, Paul McCartney & Wings, and McDonald’s son Maxwell on bass. Bad Old World also boasts a special guest appearance by Graham Maby (Joe Jackson, They Might Be Giants), who plays bass on several tracks.

The Album Launch Event is set for Wednesday, May 24 at Bowery Electric in New York City.

Premiering exclusively on Billboard.com, the self-deprecating first single,“Dementia,” is a perfect portal into the off-kilter world of HONEY WEST, so named after the groundbreaking 1960s TV series about a sexy female secret agent.“Dementia,” the album’s closing track, is a tightly wound, foot-stomping, Saturday-night rocker highlighted by McDonald’s baritone sax – which originally left a memorable imprint on T. Rex’s iconic “Get It On (Bang A Gong).” But Zurkowski’s typically droll, self-deprecating lyrics elevate the song far beyond the typical party-hearty blueprint, and identify its creators as a rock ’n’ force.

The high concept "Dementia" lyric video was conceived and directed by Maxwell McDonald, adding to his duties as the band's bass player. Calling the lyric video “inventive,” Billboard.com said it “merits some attention when Ian McDonald gets excited about something.”

While McDonald’s formidable gifts as an instrumentalist, arranger and producer are front-and-center with HONEY WEST on Bad Old World, they represent a new role for the artist who for decades has been revered as a musician’s musician — the one everyone else would check out … and envy! His sterling rock legacy has been primarily forged in the background as the “secret sauce” if you will, for a wide range of recordings which further extends to the likes of Kanye West, Ozzy Osbourne, April Wine, Angela Bofill, Herbie Mann, Jerry Jeff Walker, Nash the Slash, and beyond.

When Zurkowski’s intelligent and playful lyrics are blended with the musical aptitude of HONEY WEST’s co-composers, sonic sparks can’t help but fly.  Not only is his background as a Shakespearean actor entrenched at The Actors Studio (unorthodox by music-world standards), it also indicates McDonald’s propensity for driving a bulldozer through convention.

As such, Bad Old World by HONEY WEST has given rise to a new name in 2017 for peerless musicianship, a substantial, yet fun, lyrical point of view, and the kind of jump-from-the-speakers excitement which has always marked the best in rock music.

Bad Old World is available now on all major digital services, including iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, and Spotify.  Here's the iTunes link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/bad-old-world/id1223188582?ls=1&app=itunes

Real Men Wear Plaid

Ryan Gosling, Ryan Gosling, Ryan Gosling
Yes, it's the truth. Real men do wear plaid. Ryan Gosling, pictured above is proof of this. See Ryan walking in LA, see him wearing plaid while doing so, walk Ryan, walk...

I really like Gosling as an actor and as eye candy and he could pretty much wear anything he wants and still catch my attention. But when he goes all lumberjack on us well it has that extra added something now doesn't it kids?

Of course my favorite thing to see Ryan in is his Birthday Suit, as if you didn't know that already.

Have a Sexy Saturday!

Son Of A Preacher Man

Preaching: Just Say No
Tom Goss

Remember the classic tune, Son of a Preacher Man by the legendary Dusty Springfield? Well the song has just been turned on it's ass by singer/songwriter/actor/activist and all around cool guy Tom Goss.

The out, bear loving artist has given the familiar staple a powerful gay twist.

"A lot of gay men and women have been condemned by religious institutions. Our goal was to speak to that experience and show how destructive it can be.

We hope that this video reaches people, helps heal people, educates people and provides an outlet to help promote those who are doing so much to curb the pain.

Notably organizations like The Trevor Project and PFLAG."  States Goss

So without further fanfare stop, look and listen to his awesome take on an old hit!

"Life Is Like A Jackie Collins Novel"

"Life is like a Jackie Collins novel" - Michael Shinafelt

This startling revelation caught me by surprise somewhere back in 2010 when I was dating an actor half my age and juggling both our schedules and different friends and careers, mine being of course a writer, actor etc...So I immediately posted my momentary genius on my Facebook page and took it to Twitter!

After having been in Hollywood for 20 plus years it hit me like a bolt of lightning at that point and time in my life that "yes" me and my then boyfriend could easily be a basis for characters in one of her books!

Funny when I was growing up as a young lad in Washington State I used to find her potboilers entertaining, but thought that her statement that the characters and events were based on reality a bit of a stretch.

Yeah, well living in Hollywood I have been proven wrong on the abovementioned notion.

A few of my favorite Jackie yarns? Hollywood Wives was my favorite! Honorable mention goes to Lady Boss and Lucky.

She was a woman who lived a great and fascinating life. Someone who I wished I had met, so I could have had a character based on me in one of her escapist treatise.

R.I.P. Lovely lady, you made reality entertaining.

Evan Peters: Five For Five

Evan Peters Meet Tate Langdon

Evan Peters will be returning to American Horror Story for it's fifth season. This makes him the only actor to do the show all five seasons.

As we AHS fans all know Jessica Lange is bowing out this season. Although I have liked him in all the seasons my favorite character he has played on the anthology series is Tate Langdon from season one "Murder House."

On American Horror Story: Hotel he will be playing a character know as:

The Prowler, a mysterious young man that can be found hanging around the hotel and dark alley ways - in the early and present day segments.

Sounds like we have another Tate like treat from Evan.

Season 5! Season 5! Season 5! Yay!

R.I.P. Cory Monteith Of "Glee"

Wow! Cory Monteith "Finn Hudson" of Ryan Murphy's "Glee" is gone....although I was not a fan of the show, I respected the Actor/Singers on it, they are/were major talents. He was only 31 years old.

Cory had a history of being in and out of rehab - something that thousands of Americans can relate to in this crazy world we live in.

While the final autopsy has yet to determine what The Amazing Cory passed away from, I suspect it has something to do with his addictions.

He had everything, success and talent, but sometimes that is not enough to fill the hole in someone's heart, and Cory had a lot of heart.....

Rest In Peace....Sweet Prince, despite what happened, I hope you truly enjoyed the ride...xoxo....

Enjoy "Glee's" signature song featuring Cory on Oprah covering Journey's: "Don't Stop Believin"
