Today's Monday Motivation secret word is: Jacked as in getting said way by lifting weights. Witness my Boy Toy Zac Efron in jacked to the max form for the Baywatch movie...witness it, do it and do it now!

While I do not want to get as jacked as Boy Zac, Daddy is on his own "Jacked Journey" - say that three time fast. "Yes" minions I added Weightlifting to my repertoire of Spin, Yoga & Abs classes and what a feeling!!!

I honestly remember not really caring for the act of getting jacked when I was younger thus when I was recruited to do so recently by my Toy, there was some reluctance to do so on my part, But my Toy was persistent and I caved, he guided me on which weights I should do and told me what body parts I was doing each for specifically. Everyone should have a Toy as a guide.

So guess what? I am loving this new addition to my life, in fact I find engaging in getting jacked quite addicting.

It's My Birthday & I'll...

It's my Birthday & I'll say what I want to. What did you think I was going to say cry??? Then you obviously don't know me too well. 

So I guess I need to be all reflective and stuff, correct? Of course I do! Today I turn the ripe age of 52, and I am proud of it. Why you may ask? Because the wind is high, it blows my mind, that's why! "Yes" I threw in that lyric reference to F#ck with you youngsters out there.

In all seriousness it's because I'm feeling myself. Translation - I know who I am and what I want, and I'm coming for you 2018, so bend over and take it!

The image above I took this morning, right before I got on the computer to write this post. Why am I in the shower with a glam face filter you might ask? Because I have lost 24 lbs and counting minions, not to mention my body is really tight. 

While my face has a filter, my body does not. I have gone from 213 lbs to 189 lbs and I expect to lose more and get even more ripped thanks to my new love boxing. I punched a bag and I liked it!

Along with boxing I spin 3 -4 times a week, go to yoga once a week and watch what I eat. This is no small accomplishment when one reaches a certain age. 

Thus today I am celebrating my 52 year old body. I am in some of the best shape I have ever been and guess what? Yep, I'm feeling myself today, and everyday.That is always a reason to celebrate!

Filmmaker Gorman Bechard, who has chronicled three of the most influential bands in the history of rock and roll with documentaries about The Replacements, Archers of Loaf, and Hüsker Dü's Grant Hart is turning his camera towards the future with his new film, Who is Lydia Loveless? The feature-length documentary follows Lydia Loveless and her band into the studio as they record their album Real. Along with a chaotic super-charged home-town live performance shot specifically for the film and extensive interviews with Loveless and her band, the rock-doc will delve into the realities, financial and otherwise, of a working musician on the brink of major success. It will examine what it's like to be a woman in the mostly sexist rock & roll world, dealing with cellphones in your face as you sing a heartbreaking tune, piracy, streaming services, and of course answer the question: Who Is Lydia Loveless? "Lydia is the future of rock and roll," director Bechard explains. "She straps you onto an emotional roller coaster of love, lust, drunken mistakes, a little stalking, a lot of heartbreak, an you're left breathless, stunned, happy to have taken the ride." Music journalists from SPIN to Rolling Stone have likewise raved, with her albums always finding their way onto many year-end Best Album lists. "I'm excited to work with Gorman," says Loveless. "He's very passionate about music and about the true meaning and spirit of rock and roll."

The vinyl release, Live From the Documentary Who is Lydia Loveless?, is an exclusive Record Store Day release featuring 6 tracks recorded at a hometown performance in Columbus, Ohio.  Bechard's three previous music docs have all won critical praise. Rolling Stone called Color Me Obsessed, A Film About The Replacements one of "The Seven Best New Music Documentaries of the Year."  The Seattle Times raved about the "raw power and mesmerizing hooks" in his Archers of Loaf concert film What Did You Expect? While Every Everything: The Music, Life & Times Of Grant Hart was labeled "beautifully sad" by The Village Voice.  He is currently in post production on documentaries about Wilco's Jay Bennett, as well as newly-signed Bloodshot Records recording artist Sarah Shook and the Disarmers. Bechard is also the filmmaker behind the ASPCA-award-winning animal welfare documentary A Dog Named Gucci. Congratulations go out today to Kate Pierson of the B-52's on getting married to her longtime girlfriend Monica Coleman over the weekend in Hawaii! They have been together since 2003.

The B-52's are one of my favorite groups. I remember attending the CD release party for Cosmic Thing at the now defunct club Probe in Los Angeles, CA.

It was an exciting evening and the crowd was treated to a live performance by the group who arrived to the party in style on a Cadillac Convertible.

Pierson addressed accepting herself to Spin in it's February 2015 issue:

"All our friends — so many friends are gay or lesbian and transgender. We’re just in that world. We all went through the devastating time of the AIDS crisis and I think that galvanized us to be more activists — AIDS activists. I think through that struggle we’ve tried to do a lot of benefits and stuff. I think the meaning of ‘gay' became more solidified," she told the mag. "One of the things the B-52s wanted to accomplish was for people to embrace their difference and encourage people to be who they are and accept themselves."
