Sandy Zacky On Orlando #WeAreOrlando

With the tragedy in Orlando still lingering. I held off on addressing it initially because I wanted to process my own thoughts and feelings. Everyone is still reacting as well they should, it was the biggest mass shooting in the United States ever.

People should be concerned, not just gay people. This is something we must pay attention and attend to. It can and most likely will happen again at a place and time you would least expect.

As a gay man of course I am upset. However it hit me in a more general way, I think about the potential of such an incident in the many familiar places I travel throughout my day. Let's face it no where and no one is safe.

What I wanted to do was give a different point of view on this, perhaps not even mine but something that could add to the dialogue. Here is a fresh prospective. This is from a grandmother who worries about the country and what the future of it holds for her grandchildren. Her name is Sandy Zacky, you may remember her as Entertain Me's resident chanteuse. She wrote this powerful statement the morning of the shooting on her Facebook page:

"I am sure what is on my mind is what is on most people's mind.
I feel sick, angry, helpless and more.

What now? It is my grandchildren and their generation that I fear for the most.

What are we we leaving them? A sick world of people whose only quest is to kill those who don't believe as they do. They think we are immoral but who is more immoral than those who MURDER innocents who just want to live
their lives the way they choose?

Those of you who are that sick may murder but you will not take the US down. You are the cowards we will be the survivors!"

Perfectly stated Sandy. Here is a song she performed with her singing partner Mike Clifford dedicated to the victims and survivors of the tragedy, Love Is Everything -

With congress recently turning a blind eye to the problem at hand, something needs to be done...now, before a tragedy like this can happen again.

Andie MacDowell Gets XXL

Andie MacDowell Feels Up Matt Bomer
Oh My!
Since the Supreme Court has declared Marriage Equality in all fifty nifty United States. I thought to myself, let's celebrate the love by posting this image of the eternally beautiful Andie MacDowell getting hands on familiar with a life size poster of her openly gay co-star Matt Bomer at the Magic Mike XXL premiere in Hollywood.

Hey nothing says equality like a straight woman copping a feel off a gay man in my opinion. It's safe and no one gets hurt.

Have a terrific weekend!

"Independence Day 2" Elects Sela Ward As President

Sela Ward: Kicking Alien Ass!
Portraying the president of the United States in 1996’s Independence Day, Bill Pullman pilots a fighter jet straight into an interplanetary siege and delivers the rousing “We will not go quietly into the night!” speech that ultimately compels the allied human forces of earth to unite in kicking some alien butt.,,
Well that's all going to change in Independence Day 2 landing on June 24, 2016.
There's a new sheriff in town played by Sela Ward. That's correct the US has an ass kicking female leader whose name is President Lanford
Sela Ward has always been a favorite of mine, not only is she a good actress, she is just so damned beautiful. The perfect choice to play the leader of the free world!

"Here we go back, this is the moment

On Tour: Message To Venus

The "M2V" Guys!

Finally! After years of playing local type gigs, Message to Venus is hitting the road for a really big tour...!

The tour will cover 19 States and 30 Cities in the U.S.! Yes, 2013 is the year for "M2V".

Jandre Nadal Lead Vocals/Guitar of "M2V" stopped by "Entertain Me" to give me this quote about the groups mega 2013 activity:

"We have invested so much as a band, mental and physical preparations, sacrificing everything in our personal lives. We have the mind set and the talent, we just need the exposure. We are going to be big and we know it"!

Yes, Jandre this writer agrees. I first heard of the band and chatted with Jandre in May 2012 for Chorus & Verse, oh, you can cut to that full length interview here...

Oh, look it's a cool "M2V" logo!

Speaking with Mr. Nadal and hearing the bands music, I knew then everything he just told all of you above is 100% accurate and, he speaks the truth. Can I get an amen?

"M2V" kicks off their tour this Thursday June 20th 2013 in St. Petersburg, FL with opener Dead Fish Handshake in tow.

Marie Parie "Dating"

Marie Parie is an “alien”. The Parisian pop atist has called the United States home since 2005. Her background gives her music a unique take on American Society.

Dating bewilders her, futuristic music excites her – and art is how she expresses it. To all of you strange creatures out there who don't know who Marie is, well it's time to get to know her.

Letting loose of her inner “alien” on her latest single it's “Dating” time with Marie Parie!

MS: Hi Marie, judging from your single “Dating” you seem to really not like it.

MP: Well...yeah. (laughs) It's not that I don't like dating, but I am from Europe and we really don't have this process of “dating” we don't even have a word for it. When someone asked for the first time if I wanted to go on a date, I'm like “What do you mean”? When it was explained to me what dating is, I was like, “Wow” I come from a completely different world.

MS: At first I wasn't sure what to make of the song and then I realized you were poking fun at “Dating”.

MP: Well what do you do? I decided to have fun with it, French people don't even know what “Dating” is. (laughs)

MS: So what is it French people do then to connect?

MP: You meet people and if you are really interested, you feel it in your heart and you like that person and you feel the potential, you and that person would go together, go have dinner, get to know each other, then you get to talk to the person and see if you feel something.

MS: Basically you are saying, you just like that one person and you go for it.

MP: Yeah, you are exclusive right away and if you want out later that's fine, not every relationship works, you are with that one person and not so many people at the same time. In America it's like Wednesday it's Sabrina, Thursday it's Marsha. (laughs)

MS: I must have been born into the wrong culture because that's what I like to do too.

MP: Part of what I like to do is challenge cultural norms, break down boundaries.
