Who's Your Daddy?

Call Me Daddy
Michael Shinafelt

Happy Father's Day Everyone!

I was not really sure what to write about today since my father passed away from cancer quite a spell ago.

Something a little cheeky perhaps, yeah I am sort of feeling that way thus the byline and accompanying image. Mixed with something a little reverent, yep, that's where this next part comes in.

F#ck Cancer! Cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide. It has touched so many people's lives that I know, including mine, and is a hateful disease. It shows no mercy and leaves the host ravaged.

Sometimes it's a slow painful death in the case of my Father and other times it's quick and painful. Either way it's merciless.

Currently I can name off a few people who I know it is working it's voodoo on and I hope they beat it. This shit deserves to be put in it's f#cking place!

Me & My Dad
So, I am taking Father's Day and dedicating it to the memory of mine, Bill Shinafelt February 23, 2009 who passed away from lung cancer.

Love Is A Dirty Word

Let's Give Them Something To Think About

Tilted Field, in association with VS. Theatre Company, is proud to present the World Premiere of Giovanni Adams’ new play Love is a Dirty Word, opening in Los Angeles on Saturday, June 17th at 8:00pm. The solo work, performed by Adams, with musical accompaniment by Arturo Lopez, is about a young man finding redemption when he is deemed too dirty to love. This autobiographical piece is rooted in Mr. Adams’ experience as a black, queer, Christian man crossing lines of identity, affinity and ideology. Love is a Dirty Word was developed and directed by Becca Wolff (No Static at All, Outstanding Solo Show, 2015 NY Fringe Festival). The play will run through Saturday, July 15, 2017 at VS. Theatre on Pico. For more information please visit http://vstheatre.org and https://www.facebook.com/events/835544223260279.

The story begins and ends in Adams’ hometown of Jackson, Mississippi. The songs are originals by Mr. Adams and arranged by Mr. Lopez. Designers include Melissa Trn (costumes) and Rachel Myers (set). The 80-minute show will run Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00pm at VS. Theatre, which is located at 5453 W. Pico Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90019. The first show on Friday, June 16th is a preview performance. Opening Night is set for Saturday, June 17th. Tickets are $30 each and available by calling the box office at 323-739-4411 or online by visiting Brown Paper Tickets at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2951780

Adams and Wolff began developing the show in the summer of 2015 when “...the perceived abject otherness of blackness was being made visible in the most horrific fashion. The spectacle of black death gone viral was a wake up call and a reminder that to be born black in America is to live with a heightened awareness of your out-of-placeness,” says Adams. “Safety can be real hard to find. This got me thinking about my own complex relationship to love and home. Is there such a thing as being too different – too dirty to love? That’s the seed of the story that we’re trying to tell. This story is a meditation of my childhood memories in Mississippi, accompanied with music and images. It traces my journey back home to reconnect with the little boy buried on the inside of me…a liberating act of love."

Just Because...Gerard Butler

Nothing Comes Between Me & My Kilt
Gerard Butler
After the week that was would could be better than kicking off the weekend with Gerard Butler? Well of course the answer to that is Gerard Butler in a kilt, duh!

When I saw this image of the humpy Butler dude rocking a kilt I just had to share it with all of you and fellow Gerard lover author M.E. Franco, who I am sure will make mention of him again in our annual Halloween chat.

As if, he couldn't get any sexier, he had to wear one of the hotter things a man can wear. Why is a kilt hot you may ask? The answer should be obvious, but I will extrapolate, because most men do not wear underwear beneath them and you start hoping that certain something that the guy is packing will somehow flop out so you can get an eyeful.

Yes, it's that whole accidental, or perhaps on purpose, voyeur aspect that accompanies such a wardrobe choice that makes it highly titillating.

It's safe to bet Gerry is free balling under his kilt and I for one want to take a look...in fact I'm going to go do that right now!

Have a good one!

Michael's Musings

Contemplating My Navel
Michael Shinafelt
It's that time of the week again where I am mostly peace, love and light, and a little go f#ck yourself.

Trying to keep the negative to a minimum because there just isn't enough of that going down every single day.

Shall we commence? Yes, we shall...

Best headline of the week: Wonder Woman Tops Tom Cruise - cheeky!

During the week, it's the Tranny Bike

What are you? A sex machine with a cash register between your legs?

This week on Pretty Little Liars Aria got busted for being shady AF, Hanna & Caleb got married, Spencer & Toby had sex, only two episodes left, and the world keeps turning.

All Demi Moore wants for Christmas is her two front teeth

Ooooooooo, I too am dying to know if Beyonce is in labor, not!

Why is it everyone is so obsessed with seeing celebrity babies? They're going to look like a baby, we've all seen one before, get a grip.

Lipstick & Muffin Girl, think about it...

The first thing I do when I get home is take off my pants

On this season of the Real Housewives of New York, Sonja Morgan is a total jealous loser

A health conscious hooker, how 90's

Is there anything Katy Perry won't do to sell her latest album?

On that note so to speak it's time for me to start getting ready to hit the spin bike, ciao!

Moore Teeth

Less Is Moore?
Demi Moore
Bet you'd never thought you'd ever hear the phrase "Moore Teeth"...

Well in the case of Demi Moore "All She Wants For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth?" Yes, Virginia she really does and I am sure will be getting them via cosmetic dentistry with or without Santa's help.

Apparently Demi told Jimmy Fallon she sheared them off due to stress. Which is entirely possible if she grinds them in her sleep, which it sounds like she does.

Even though she said she managed to take out her two front teeth Demi showed a photo on the Tonight Show missing only one. Hey one missing looks startling enough people could you imagine if she went teeth to the wall and showed both gone?!

Demi was on the show to promote her upcoming appearance with Ty Burrell as a married couple on the prowl for a three way in Rough Night.

In that particular case less, teeth would be Moore. Think about it, but not too hard.

It Rough

Rough Night?
l-r
Scarlett Johansson, Zoe Kravitz & Ilana Glazer
There are a lot of rough things in this world. Some rougher than others. Well this isn't one of them.

Check out Scarlett Johansson, Zoe Kravitz & Ilana Glazer at a photocall for their upcoming comedy Rough Night. Doesn't look too rough to me, how about you, do you think this is rough?

From what I gather from the trailer the comedy is about a group of friends having a bachelorette party and a male stripper they hire ends up dead. Now that scenario actually does sound rough.

But probably not as rough as that one night I had when I was 35 and...yep there's another one that will be in the book I am writing. So you'll just have to wait for it.

Hope your week isn't too rough!
