Michael's Musings

Here It Goes Again
Michael Shinafelt

I remember when I got the above T-Shirt after I gave a donation to the HRC around the time you know who became "President."

Well it is a timely statement yet again, with the current shape of things. What's old always ends up being new again for better or worse. Let's have some fun now shall we? We shall!!!

Look! It's another pair of edible panties!

Tortillas are a gateway drug, the more you know...

Please allow me to hold your artificial leg while you eat chicken

Annoying flesh monkeys, discuss

Can't wait to see The Batman this weekend!

If one of your computer keys is stuck should you get a new computer? Asking for a friend.

Sorry Minions, I don't believe in fairytales, but happy endings on the other hand...

Booze take the wheel, that time I had an Uber driver named Gin

Woman Crush of the Week - I decided to see who the "IT Girl" was the year I was born and was pleased to find it was Elizabeth Montgomery of Bewitched fame. Who didn't have a crush on her as Samantha Stephens?!

Speaking of which it's Women's History Month

I made this jar with a lid, wanna see?

How about that season finale of Euphoria, I have unresolved questions that I guess I'm gonna have to wait two years to get answers to..."sigh"

You are always worthy of happiness, respect and appreciation

If you're happy and you know it _______ it's blank and it's your to fill

Hump Day & Chill

Go Wild!
Madonna

Hump Day & Chill - Girl Gone Wild

And I want so badly too be good...

And no one can put out my fire
It's coming right down through the wire

Girls, they just wanna have some fun
Get fired up like a smokin' gun

I'm about to go astray, my inhibition's gone away
I feel like sinning

I got that burnin' hot desire
And no one can put out my fire

I know, I know, I know I shouldn't act this way
I know, I know, I know good girls don't misbehave

Hey-ey-ey-ey-eh-ey
Like a girl gone wild, a good girl gone wild

Oink!

Hey Minions, today is National Pig Day, Oink! Thus I thought I would put it out there that last year's Pig starring Nicholas Cage is the most overlooked film this awards season.

You heard me, and I'll say it again if you like. But I think in this case once is enough.

Even though it surely deserved Best Picture recognition the biggest faux paus is Nicholas Cage's overlooked performance in it...in one word: Amazing!

Cage has no problem reminding audiences that he is an Oscar Winner capable of incredible range and depth in this poignant story.

So there I said it.

Hey Academy, you blew this one!

Time Line Cleanser

Milan Dreaming
Sharon Stone

With all the carrying on about last night's season finale of Euphoria (which I don't mind) and the SAG Awards (did anyone actually watch them? I didn't) I thought we all deserved a diversion.

Thus here it is: Sharon Stone slaying during Milan Fashion Week.

See Queen Sharon attending the Dolce & Gabbana boutique event. See Queen Sharon stun, See Queen Sharon make you forget there was anyone else there...

Yeah, that sums it up nicely, no?

It's the last day of February 2022, make it count Minions!!!

Who Let The Cat Out?

Hello Kitty!
Elizabeth Taylor

"Maggie the cat is alive. I'm alive" - Maggie, Cat On A Hot Tin Roof

Whilst Tweeting this morning this photo Elizabeth Taylor from Cat On A Hot Tin Roof came through my feed.

It brought me back to a few things. One how great the film is and two how truly immortal Ms. Taylor is.

That's correct Minions, while I know she has passed on Elizabeth Taylor's place in the history of cinema will live forever and her humanitarian work, especially her AIDS activism is her legacy.

Nobody did it better than Elizabeth, while many have come close she was a one of a kind trailblazer and talent.

I now believe it's time for me to view Cat On A Hot Tin Roof again...STAT!

See ya!!!

Weekend Vibes

I Can't Control It
Dua Lipa & Miley Cyrus

Since I'm feeling quite, shall we say, down with my bad self this weekend I felt like reflecting those "vibes" in a a single image.

Please welcome Miley Cyrus & Dua Lipa straight outta their video for their song Prisoner! Applause please!

While I won't break down the details of my "vibe" I am guessing you are getting a pretty strong impression of what it is, right here, right now...

Anyway, I've got to tend to my bad self and keep on keepin' if you know what I mean, and I think you do.

Film Buff Friday: Camille

"Hollywood films of the 1930s were in many ways, the most bewitchingly glamorous of any period in cinema history. They offered escapism through beautiful actors, dazzling decors, sensational clothing, and gripping stories - all larger than life. As the saying goes, it was the “stuff dreams were made of", and “Camille” is a shining example of this intoxicating time. This tragic romance showcases the brilliance of director George Cukor, the magnetism of Greta Garbo, and the mesmerizing elegance of 1930s films - in particular, those made by MGM Studios. The world it creates is so lavish and rich, you can’t help but long to be a part of it. “Camille” is breathtaking, highly emotional, and an apex in melodrama and romance. It earned one Academy Award nomination, for its star, Greta Garbo."
