Full Moon's classic family film PREHYSTERIA 

comes to Blu-ray for the first time ever this Fall

This remastered, high-definition transfer taken from the original 35mm camera negative arrives in a special Blu-ray + DVD combo package on October 9th

Legendary horror and dark fantasy film studio Full Moon Features (founded by producer / director Charles Band in 1989) is world-renowned for wild films like PUPPET MASTER, CASTLE FREAK, SUBSPECIES, EVIL BONG and many, many more. But nestled among Full Moon's vast entertainment universe sits Moonbeam Entertainment, the beloved '90s imprint that housed Band's series of imaginative (and successful) fantasy films.

 

Beginning in 1993 and continuing well into the late '90s, Moonbeam Entertainment released dozens of remarkable (and hugely popular) horror, sci-fi and fantasy movies made for children and families. Now, Full Moon is thrilled to be bringing back many of those marvelous pictures from the Moonbeam library, starting with the film that started it all: PREHYSTERIA!

Anticipating the success of JURASSIC PARK, this 1993 VHS-era favorite follows the misadventures of Jerry Taylor (Austin O'Brien, THE LAST ACTION HERO), a 12 year old Elvis-loving kid and his sister Monica (Samantha Mills), whose raisin farmer dad Frank (Brett Cullen, GHOST RIDER) accidentally brings home a bundle of rare eggs unearthed in the rainforest by Rico Sarno (Stephen Lee, DOLLS), an sinister museum curator. Suddenly, the eggs hatch, unleashing a pack of diminutive dinosaurs that the kids name after their favorite rock and pop music stars - Elvis, Jagger, Madonna, Paula, and Hammer. But when Sarno finds out about the dinos, he'll stop at nothing to get his hands on them and its up to Jerry and Monica to protect their new "family".

 

This wild and hilarious comedy / fantasy classic features top-notch stop-motion special effects by the great David Allen (PUPPET MASTER, LASERBLAST) and is ready to be embraced by a new generation of children and kids of all ages looking for charming, eccentric retro-genre entertainment. About Last Night...

What's Under The Dress???

While I can't say I actually watched The Enemas, I mean Emmy's. Especially since the small portion I did see was unwatchable. Seriously who wrote that awful patter betwixt presenters?! There was one thing that was more fun and entertaining than the sum of the whole show's parts....Tiffany Haddish's rainbow gown was giving people life at an otherwise dreary affair.

Of course being a gay man my mind immediately went to the Rainbow Flag, which I suppose is a valid interpretation. Only I came to find out that Haddish explained that her dress was inspired by the Eritrean Flag which is a tribute to her late Father's home country. Thus I was in the zone going to the flag place when I saw it. 

Then there was the Social Media take, peeps comparing it to the giant parachutes they used to play with in grade school. 

Whatever your interpretation for my money Tiffany was the belle of the award show. Makes me wish I had seen her red carpet arrival, but as stated, well you know....

Monday Motivation

I'm Gumby Damn It!

Even though it doesn't happen until Wednesday I am planting the seed of motivation today, Monday. "Yes" Monday Motivation for a Wednesday ayem yoga class. For some inexplicable reason I have missed hitting the mat for the past two weeks and I really need to go as yoga does wonders for me and my body, not to mention my mindset as well.

Thus I have enlisted the very flexible, not to mention agile, Adam Levine to give me the kick in the booty I need to reach the mat at 8 ayem Wednesday morning. 

While at this point and juncture I know I will never achieve Gumby flexibility like Adam, one of my goals is to become more so. 

My body does actually give more than it used to in the bending department than it did when I started my yoga journey. That's why I am kicking myself for missing it these past couple of weeks...Grrrrrrrrrr.

OK, my mind has been programmed I know I will be in a downward dog come Wednesday. Join me?

Just Because he got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to publicize the upcoming season of Will and Grace. Just Because his pose is giving me life on a Sunday morning & Just Because I wanna be sedated. Here is Eric McCormack peeps!

While I was never really a fan of the original Will and Grace ("yes" I am a bad gay, or perhaps bad ass gay depending on your take) I am even less of a fan of the cartoon like reboot.

This but and however does not mean I find Eric untalented. I find him very much so and am glad that the powers that be decided to pimp his ass out for publicity for the second coming of the revived show by gifting him with a star on the HWOF. 

Hey, the going price is $40,000 and that's pretty cheap in terms of the publicity it buys. Obviously NBC deemed McCormack the one from the cast who should get one. Also so did the Walk of Fame committee.

So there you have it in a nutshell Eric going yogi on your ass and receiving his Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame zen style.

All proceeds from the evening’s event will be donated to the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Texas. The Goonies: Live! features an eclectic crew of stars from television and film such as: Gina Rodriguez, Joe Lo Truglio, Brittany Snow, Haley Joel Osment, Nicole Byer and more. “The footage coming from the border over the last few months is sickening. It’s not just that it’s heart-wrenching; it is a helpless sort of rage, the rage that comes from knowing you cannot drive down to Texas and forcibly hurl your body against the fences. You can’t crash into those cages and scoop every child into your arms and swing to the rescue. There is no magic wand to wave that will undo the damage that’s been done. But that does not absolve us from the responsibility of trying.

That’s The Goonies in a nutshell: we keep fighting even when it seems like a done deal – a home in foreclosure, the papers all but signed. RAICES has been on the front lines of this humanitarian crises from the beginning. They haven’t stopped. They won’t stop, but they need our support – now more than ever, in these days when every week in the news cycle brings something worse than the last. They need us to keep paying attention.”
