Shocker, Not Really: Melanie Griffith & Antonio Banderas Split

Griffith & Banderas
Well, at least they are not consciously uncoupling, and think that water has feelings...
"We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalize our almost twenty years marriage in a loving and friendly manner honoring and respecting each other, our family and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together" - Melanie & Antonio
It's been a long time coming in this writer's estimation, and I hear the split is amicable, one of the most unlikely couples in Hollywood to ever get married are calling it quits. You've got to give it to them they lasted eighteen years.
Here's the 411: The famous duo have been married for 18 years and have one daughter together, Stella, who turns 18 in the fall.
Griffith has cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for ending her marriage to the Spanish actor and is asking for spousal support.

Best to both of you.

For A Good Cause: O.A.R. & Phillip Phillips

O.A.R. and Phillip Phillips give it up for a great cause, Habitat for Humanity International. Keep the love flowing..

Rock band O.A.R. and singer Phillip Phillips announced today their joint summer tour will benefit Habitat for Humanity to support the organization’s mission of providing safe, decent, affordable housing in partnership with low-income families.

“Home means everything to us. It’s our DNA. It’s who we are,” said Marc Roberge of O.A.R.  “We had the chance to meet amazing people building Habitat for Humanity homes in LA, pouring love and sweat into the foundation, taking pride in the work they were doing, alongside the Habitat partner family, and it was an honor to be a part of that. Words can’t properly describe the positive swell that brought to our hearts. We hope the donation from our tour will help families, like the ones we met, achieve their dreams of homeownership.”

The 24-city joint tour kicks off in St. Louis on June 12 and wraps up in Atlanta on July 26. For every ticket sold, O.A.R. and Phillip Phillips will donate $1 to Habitat. The tour will also host online auctions for a VIP experience in each city, including two premium tickets and an opportunity to meet with the artists. Proceeds from the auctions will go to local Habitat affiliates.

“My team has personally seen the incredible impact Habitat for Humanity can have on lives. We have worked on builds from the Musician's Village rebuild in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina to local neighborhoods in my community,” said Phillip Phillips. “Habitat's roots stem from my home state of Georgia but their reach is now worldwide  I am honored to partner with Habitat for Humanity in carrying out their mission - to build homes, communities, and hope."

The artists will also donate 10 concert tickets to the Habitat for Humanity affiliate in each tour city, for use by Habitat volunteers and staff, as well as Habitat partner homeowner families, who they will meet at each tour stop. Habitat affiliates will be provided with space at each venue to raise awareness about their affordable housing work within their communities.

“O.A.R. and Phillip Phillips share our passion for helping low-income families realize the dream of homeownership,” said Colleen Ridenhour, deputy director of Corporate, Foundation and Institution Relations for Habitat for Humanity International. “We are honored to be recognized during their summer tour and are grateful for their generosity in helping raise funds to create safe, decent, affordable housing.”

Around "A Great Big World" In 30 Days

When Sneakers Collide, It's: A Great Big World
Hitch a ride with A Great Big World this month, they are taking you on a trip for all 30 days of it, impressive!

In 2013, a friend of Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino's challenged them to release one video per day for an entire month. They took the challenge, and the "30 Videos in 30 Days" series was born. Since then, the band has been on a whirlwind ride with their single "Say Something" taking over the radio charts around the world.

Now, one year later, the band is resurrecting the video series to show a side of themselves that their new fans might not yet know. Five videos have been posted so far, including a "Day in the Life," "Fan Q&A," "Axel Fact," and "Why'd They Write That?" explaining the meaning and process behind writing "Say Something." Fans can look forward to more videos including live performances, more behind-the-scenes videos and more personal information from Ian and Chad.

Take a look below and stay tuned for a new video each day this month!

In addition, A Great Big World will be crisscrossing the globe this year when they launch an expansive international run, the appropriately titled "A Great Big World Tour".  The tour also perfectly coincides with the launch of the group's latest single "Already Home"

A Few Of My Favorite Things: Morrissey & Pamela Anderson

Pamela & Morrissey Sitting In A Tree...
Two of my favorite things, Morrissey & Pamela Anderson have joined forces for the video "Earth is the Loneliest Planet" a spoken word piece by the big M himself.

I encountered Morrissey once at The Viper Room in Los Angeles when he was there to see a band that I was there to see Girl in a Coma, an all female group with a name that "yes" was a homage to the Morrissey song "Girlfriend in a Coma" thus it made for an overall too cool for school evening.

Also I have interviewed the delightful Ms. Anderson for Instinct magazine when it was good for a great column they used to have "The Chick We'd Switch For."

When I posed the question "If you were gay for one day would you want that experience to be as a man or a woman?"

She enthusiastically said "A man . I have so many gay male friends and hear so many great stories."

To which I replied "What would you want to do as a gay man?"

Pamela quipped "If I was a gay man I would know how to give a better blow job ."

This is verbatim as I just transcribed it from a copy of the magazine with my interview in it.

Yep, you guys made my week!
