2018 Here We Come!

"Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened" - Dr. Seuss

Christmas 2017 is officially over, don't cry minions, get some backbone and put on a happy face.

Onward and upward I always say. Time to put on your big people pants and brace yourself for 2018, bitches!

With that sentiment I hope you all had a wonderful Yuletide, mine? It was pretty great my Mom came to Los Angeles to visit me with her guy Bob in tow. We got our Uber on and feasted on Mexican Food at Camacho's Cantina located at Universal City Walk.

On to the next Uber ride, our destination? The Arc Light Cinema, Hollywood where we saw I, Tonya, which I loved! Mom enjoyed, Bob not so much.

They got Jack in the Box to go after the fact to take on the Uber to our final destination, home. None of that for this guy since I recently shed 24 lbs.

Yes, we were finally home for Christmas

And now it is the morning after, because there's got to be one, ya know.

Have a good one!

Nothing Says Christmas Eve Like...Katherine Heigl

Happy 10th Anniversary!
Katherine Heigl & Josh Kelley
It's Christmas Eve and what else did you expect here at Entertain Me other than to be thrown a curve ball?

A lot of you are most likely reading today's byline and are puzzled, annoyed or perhaps thinking WTF?! There are of course some of you not engaging in a volatile reaction regarding the divisive Ms. Heigl. Whatever your feelings are, that was the point of today's post, to mix them up this Holiday

Thus I bring you the image of Katherine and her husband of ten years singer Josh Kelley recreating one of their nude photos from days of yore. Ten years after all is a lifetime in Hollywood.

Katherine has sort of been on my mine of late as I stumbled across Unforgettable, a Fatal Attraction type movie she did with Rosario Dawson on an HBO free view that was given to me for whatever the F#ck reason. The movie was pretty forgettable, however I did think Heigl (and Dawson) were good.

Mic Drop! Have a great Christmas Eve!

PS Katherine, it looks like you have quit smoking, congrats!

Culture Club: Live @ Wembley

Do you really want to hurt them?

Rock Fuel Media is excited to announce the release of Live At Wembley from multi-Platinum and '80s icons CULTURE CLUB. A state-of-the-art DVD, Blu-Ray, and CD package, is out now via Cleopatra Records. The concert will be broadcast on TV in 2018, details of which will be announced soon.

For this very special hometown show, all four original band members-Boy George, Jon Moss, Roy Hay and Mikey Craig--reunited for one final show together at the historic Wembley Arena in London.

Boy George states:

"We were thrilled to be back home for the final show of such a highly successful reunion tour. Being able to document this show on film before our hometown fans, friends and family, with all the original members of the band, where it all began for us in London in 1981, makes this concert film release that much more special for our fans to enjoy for many years to come."

CULTURE CLUB returned home for the holidays in 2016 and performed live at Wembley Arena, after a hugely successful 60-city world tour. Featuring an explosive horn section and mind-blowing backup soul singers, the band ignites the stage before a sold-out crowd, as Boy George commands the catwalk with his masterful charm and smooth soulful voice, performing the band's biggest hits, including "Karma Chameleon," "It's A Miracle," "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me," "I'll Tumble 4 Ya," "Church Of The Poison Mind," and "Miss Me Blind." They close the show with a rousing cover of T. Rex's "Bang A Gong (Get It On)."

Live At Wembley showcases why CULTURE CLUB's unique pop, soul and reggae styles resonate with fans 35 years after the 1982 release of their  Kissing To Be Clever debut album. It was produced by award-winning producer, Barry Summers of Rock Fuel Media (Guns N' Roses, Smashing Pumpkins, Jane's Addiction, VH1's Decades Rock Live Series) and directed by Mark Ritchie (Madonna, Kanye West, Jane's Addiction). And All Through The House...

All I Want For Christmas...
Joan Collins & Psycho Santa

With only three days left until Christmas, my Holiday spirit has taken a decidedly macabre turn with memories of a Tales From The Crypt story And All Through The House starring Joan Collins of Dynasty fame.

After that bitch Joan Collins whacks her husband to death with a fireplace poker, she’s left with the messy problem of how to dispose of the body. Meanwhile, the holiday music on the radio is interrupted by a news bulletin warning residents that a psychotic killer has escaped from a local asylum.
And he’s dressed like Santa, naturally.
The killer Santa ends up on her doorstep. She can’t call the cops, with her husband’s body there in the living room, so all she can do is try to keep Santa from getting in. It’s a tense and CLAUStrophobic  little story that in a twisted way leaves you rooting for the Santa gone wild!
Merry Christmas indeed!

Yanomamos Comes Alive!!!

They're Aliiiiiiiiive!!!

Husker Du's Grant Hart returns to drums with the reunion of Yanomamos
"Comes Alive!" hits record stores 29 years after their first release,
"Quizas" (pronounced, Kiss-Ass) in 1988 on New Alliance record

Yanomamos is performance artist Miss Jane Mansfield on bass, Timothy G. Piotrowski on guitar and vocals, with Grant Hart on drums. The three became a tribe adopting their name from the indigenous people of the tropical rain forest in Southern Venezuela and Northern Brazil that were known to be wild, untameable and a force to be reckoned with.

Grant shared a quality with Marcel Duchamp of pursuing an endless quest in pushing the boundaries of creativity. The jammed out psychedelic improvisations of Yanomamos rhythms, riff damage, peaks and valleys galore lace perfectly together with his innovative and masterfully delivered drum tracks.

Tim and Jane's early 80's band Duck Kicking Vulture caught the attention of Grant. In 1987 he offered the band 12 hours of recording time and 12 hours to mix. The deal was made just before Husker Du's break up, then everything fell apart.

Yanomamos came together spontaneously in the summer of 1988 when Grant invited them to Creation studio where he was working on Intolerance. The session was recorded on a boom box and released as Quizas. This was the first post-Husker Du project to hit vinyl from any of its members. At that time the band played a handful of shows, including their infamous "Fire Show" in First Avenue's main room. You can watch a promo clip from the show at www.yanomamos.com

The groups second "Fire Show", also in the main room was a 2011 benefit for Hart after a fire destroyed his South Saint Paul family home. Yanomamos returned to the studio in 2015 recording side one of Comes Alive! as an EP that was never released. In 2017 after Hart's diagnosis with cancer, Yanomamos returned to the studio to turn the EP into an LP. It was one of his favorites projects. The test pressings arrived on the night of his passing.
