I Love A Parade!

Today's Your Birthday?
Bella Thorne & Ruby Rose
Even though there will be no Gay Pride Parades come June there will be plenty of  other parades in the form of drive by Birthday Celebrations

"Yes" It's the pandemic thing to do, keep your Social Distance and such. Check out Bella Thorne and Ruby Rose partaking in a drive by celebration.

For who I do not know, they are keeping it on the DL, down low in the age of Covid 19. Someone needs to write a novel with that title and subject matter, Hmmmmmm...

Anyway if you happen to have a Birthday today, be like Bella and Ruby keep it real, and DL.

It's Monday, correct???

"Street Survivors"

STREET SURVIVORS:
The True Story Of The Lynyrd Skynyrd Plane Crash

Coming to Blu-ray, DVD, and digital formats on June 30th

STREET SURVIVORS: The True Story Of The Lynyrd Skynyrd Plane Crash was scripted and directed by Jared Cohn (Devil's Revenge, Devil's Domain), produced by Brian Perera and co-produced by Tim Yasui for Cleopatra Entertainment. The biopic recreates the story about the ill-fated flight through the eyes of former Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer Artimus Pyle (who narrates the film), who not only survived the plane crash that claimed the life of the band's founder and front man Ronnie Van Zant amongst others, but who also physically pulled the remaining survivors out of the plane wreckage before staggering towards the nearest farmhouse in rural Louisiana to seek help. Pyle also contributes original music to the film's soundtrack.

Says Pyle: "This film's story - MY story - is not just about the plane crash but also about my personal relationship with the genius that was Ronnie Van Zant - whom I loved like a brother and still miss to this day."

Cleopatra Entertainment completed an international festival run followed by a domestic theatrical run, which included personal appearances by Artimus Pyle, who introduced the film and participated in Q&As with the audience. Pyle also performed a live music concert with this band that featured the hit songs by Lynyrd Skynyrd. A worldwide VOD and home video release which will include a stand-alone official soundtrack CD are coming June 30th via MVD Entertainment Group.

Saturday Sinema: Laurel & Hardy

Laurel & Hardy: The Definitive Restorations
coming to DVD and Blu-ray on June 16th
"It's no exaggeration to say that the films haven't looked this good since
they were first released in the 1930s." - Leonard Maltin

The comedy films of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy have been beloved around the world since they were first released between 1927 and 1940. So beloved that many of the available copies are blurred dupes printed from worn-out negatives. Now, the best of their short comedies and two of their finest features have been fully restored. They look and sound as spectacular as when they were first released... Here are a few videos that prove it:

FEATURES

* NEW! 2K and 4K transfers from the finest original 35mm materials in the world.

* WORLD PREMIERES! Laurel and Hardy's legendary 1927 silent "pie fight" film THE BATTLE OF THE CENTURY makes its video debut after being "lost" for 90 years! The only reel of L&H bloopers and out-takes, THAT'S THAT!

* Classic short comedies BERTH MARKS, BRATS, HOG WILD, COME CLEAN, ONE GOOD TURN, HELPMATES, THE MUSIC BOX (the legendary Academy Award winning "piano moving" short), THE CHIMP, COUNTY HOSPITAL, SCRAM!, THEIR FIRST MISTAKE, TOWED IN A HOLE, TWICE TWO, ME AND MY PAL, THE MIDNIGHT PATROL, and BUSY BODIES in addition to the feature films SONS OF THE DESERT and WAY OUT WEST (which includes the team's famous soft shoe dance routine).

* EIGHT HOURS of EXCLUSIVE extras - 2,500 rare photos and studio documents, audio and film interviews with L&H co-workers, original music tracks and trailers plus a full restoration of their one surviving color film, THE TREE IN A TEST TUBE.

* Commentaries by L&H historians Randy Skretvedt and Richard W. Bann

*Restorations provided by Jeff Joseph/SabuCat in conjunction with UCLA Film & Television Archive and Library of Congress.

Show Your Pride

Taste The Rainbow
Evan Rachel Wood
June isn't over yet, thus Pride Month marches on...to keep the love flowing I bring you one Evan Rachel Wood, who happens to be openly bisexual, showing how proud she is at the Los Angeles Pride Parade.

Ms. Wood recently appeared on HBO's Westworld, is seen here at the corner of San Vicente & Santa Monica Blvd. waving a rainbow flag in the air like she don't care. What's that? How did I know what street corner she is standing on? Because I recognize the background clues. "Yes" in case you are out of the loop I live in Los Angeles.

So let the Pride continue and carry on with your bad selves...

Happy Pride!

Proud
Jonathan Bennett
For those of you living over the rainbow, instead of under it, the month of June is official Pride Month. Today is the Los Angeles Pride Parade held in the city of West Hollywood. Thus I thought I would take today and do a special Pride shout out. Oh, and I will be attending the parade as well, because I love a parade...! 😄

So here is a Proud image that caught my attention in a fun way. Well I am sure most of you have seen the movie Mean Girls. They wore pink on Wednesdays for those of you out of the loop. Here we have out Mean Girls star Jonathan Bennett wearing a T-Shirt with a Pride take on the wearing pink thing.

"Yes" Wednesdays are now for wearing rainbows, you know how that connection goes.

Anyway, Happy Pride minions, keep on keeping!

Celebrating Judy Garland

Celebrate!
Mike Clifford & Judy Garland
June is Pride month, and also happens to be the month that legendary gay icon Judy Garland passed. With the 50th Anniversary of her death arriving on June the 22nd former Teen Idol Mike Clifford decided to cover her signature song "Over The Rainbow" in celebration of her life.

Oh and what a cover it is. Clifford who actually knew Judy (she attended his singing gigs around the Los Angeles area) - Always found her to be kind and supportive of his music career. Of course it was a big deal for Mike that he actually was friends with his idol.

Clifford delivers one of the best vocal performances of his career with his rendition of the song classic from The Wizard of Oz

Let your troubles melt like lemon drops and celebrate Judy's life by hitting the video below...

Happy Pride Month

Monday Motivation

Now This Is Motivation!
Gerard Butler
It's another Manic Monday and another opportunity to find fresh motivation to kick off the week. Today is Monday Motivation at it's finest in the form of one Gerard Butler. Funny I had a boyfriend told me Gerard was his ultimate type and that I was his "Gerard Butler" thus I guess this post is somewhat narcissistic by proxy.

Whatever. Today I need the power of Butler to get my tired booty into high gear and the great thing about this photo of Gerard shirtless (well there are many, but I will focus on the general one) is you can project pretty much anything onto it for a call to Monday action.

So here is what I am using: "Gerard is up and at em' - having done his morning yoga, he is now ready for his coffee and the Monday ahead of him. He's got his motivation on!!!"

Works for me, now I am ready to take on Manic Monday - time for me to motor peeps, and you should too.

I hope myself & Gerard were a helpful way to kick off the last Monday of June...Michael is leaving the laptop!

Happy Gay Pride Los Angeles!

Closets Are For Clothes
Michael Shinafelt
June is officially Pride Month & today is Pride Day in Los Angeles, CA. I remember I came out officially at the age of 25. It was the best thing I ever did for myself.

Since then life has had it's ups and downs just like anyone else's, but the one thing being true to yourself does is it alleviates you of the burden of living an life that is not authentic.

If you can't love yourself, how can you love anyone else?

Today is a day for celebration of our true selves, be who you are and be proud of it.

For those of you out there who might be struggling remember it's OK to seek and ask for help. That is something to be proud of as well.

On that note, it's time to get the party started, Michael has left the closet...

Michael's Musings

Are You There Leather? It's Me, Michael
Michael Shinafelt
It's the second day of November and aren't you happy??? Halloween came, and went, this year the West Hollywood Halloween Carnival was fun, because I was with friends. But lackluster in terms of costumes and smelling like ween spirit.

Translation? I did not see one motherf#cking person in celebratory dress that I wanted to photograph or be photographed with.

Yep, time to pull my broomstick out and stick it up someone else's ass!

Thirty days has September, April, June & November - the more you know

Oh what a feeling when we're dancing on the ceiling!

80's music was plentiful at this year's Halloween Carnival in West Hollywood. Not sure why that was, but this ghoul likey!

"And this curve, is your smile, And this cross, is your heart, And this line, is your path" - Kate Bush, Red Shoes

Wendy Williams collapses. While I wish no one ill will, I really can't think of a woman more deserving. Think about why I chose the word woman instead of person, but not too much.

I saw an ecstatic headline on E! about Starbuck's unveiling their new Holiday cups. Seriously?!

Last time I checked I weighed in at a mighty 197, down 16 lbs. from 213. I have been so on the run this week and not to the gym, yet eating healthy on the fly I wonder what the tally will be Saturday before spin. I say I lost, not gained. Place your bets!

Sometimes you feel like a slut, sometimes you don't. Pick which one I'm feeling today

Nicole Kidman vows to work with a female Director every 18 months - Just Sayin'

Headline: Dustin Hoffman sexually harassed me when I was seventeen. Yeah, I know, most of you reading this are like, Dustin Whoman

Pussy Man
Dear Kevin Spacey, you are a coward, your House of Cards is going to fall!

Every time I see the "Fake News" it makes me want carrot juice - it's really not that ambiguous of a statement

10 Seconds With: Hayla

Multi-Cultural Singer/Songwriter Hayla, whose current dance hit “I’m Free” was written in support of an ex-boyfriend she found in bed with another man.

Hayla was raised by two lesbian moms and is the daughter of a gay hairstylist, Hayla had her first number one hit at seventeen.

After experiencing prejudice during her youth Hayla’s message is a simple one: “Love and Compassion”

It’s time for the one and only Hayla!

MS: How are you this morning?

Hayla: Amazing!

MS: I was giving a listen to “I’m Free” just before you called I love the multi-cultural influence in your music.

Hayla: Really? Oh that’s awesome, I bet you have some musical talent.

MS: Actually I do have a background in music.

Hayla: Your comment made me think you did. I really hope you are going to come to the show at Los Angeles Pride on Saturday June 9th.

MS: I’m planning on being there.

Hayla: Yay! It’s going to be amazing! I’m headlining and will be on at 8:30. I’m going to have four hot male dancers, you are going to love them! (laughs) They are absolutely amazing, and Marco Marco is designing out clothes…I will also be performing with a live band, amazing people, really, I couldn’t ask for more.

MS: Speaking of Gay Pride, the background story for your song “I’m Free” is certainly interesting.

Hayla: Can you believe that? The funny story is, with the background I came from, that I didn’t figure it out. (laughs) That my boyfriend was….

MS: Gay? (laughs)

Hayla: No, no he’s Bi, he’s Bi (laughs)

MS: Well Pride is a great place for you to perform given your parental background.

Hayla: Oh yeah, and Mom’s going to be at the concert she’s flying in from Israel. This will be the first time she is really coming out of the closet, for real.

Check out Hayla at Los Angeles Gay Pride on the main stage Saturday June 9th at 8:30
