Happy Halloween Minions! Today's secret word is "Redrum" - I'm sure you never would have thunk that based on the image I used for the High Holy Day...NOT! So what are you doing for Halloween? Are you a treat or a trick? Actually the way I phrased it the two are pretty much simpatico. I'd say it's time to get down and dirty, but I believe I've covered that... Is there anything you wouldn't do for a Klondike Bar? If so, name it after me The worms crawl in, the worms crawl out. Get a MotherF#cking shot for that! Ever think to yourself, what does Jason Vorhees do for Mother's Day? Leslie Grossman is so bad ass on AHS: 1984 - end of discussion Dr. Sleep looks like it will keep me awake "Since I am dead I can take off my head to recite Shakespearean quotations.” - Jack Skellington, Nightmare Before Christmas
MAGA - Halloween 365 days a year!
"This isn't a dream! This is really happening!" - Mia Farrow, Rosemary's Baby. Sad but true, that film obviously saw the coming of the son of Satan, Donald Trump.
Woman Crush of the Week - It's Halloween, how can I not choose the amazing Jamie Lee Curtis?!
Sometimes ya just gotta carve a pumpkin
Witches if your horny
Death Becomes Her, why not?
There once was a Headless Horseman...tragic (if you get my drift)
Here it is, whether you like it, or not. It's my blog and I like it, so there! It's my annual Halloween chat with author and fellow horror fan M.E. Franco. Who penned the popular supernatural Dion trilogy. Grab a butcher knife, it's going to be a bloody ride!!! MS: Hello Ms. Franco we convene again. What would you give me as a gift of worship on my altar?
ME: Vampire Gerard Butler. You're welcome
Suck Me!
Gerard Butler
MS: Who carries the corpses in your house?
ME: What corpses? looks around nervously
MS: Name the most decadent trick you have ever played on an unwitting individual for Halloween?
ME: I hate when teenagers go around trick or treating with no costume at all. I don't mind older kids going out, but at least make an attempt to dress up as something besides "irritating teenager trying to get free candy." So, now I buy a bag of Dum Dum suckers that I hand out to them. I still give the good candy to anyone in a costume.
MS: You wrote a quite popular supernatural trilogy, the Dion series. Any chance we are going to get another one? ME: Thank you! I have done a little work on a fourth book, but I don't know what the future holds for that one.
MS: Why are there so many songs about rainbows, but none about the transgender witch community?
ME: It would have to be an amazing song. No one wants to piss off a witch.
MS: Are you donning a costume this year? If so spill, what is it?
ME: I'm going to be Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas. I love that movie!
Heeeere's Sally!!!
MS: Is there a favorite Halloween jingle you like? ME: This is Halloween from Nightmare Before Christmas.
MS: Did you see The Banana Splits movie that aired on the SyFy Network? They made it into a horror affair.
ME: I had heard about it, but I haven't seen it yet. Just checked out the trailer. I love the Banana Splits, so I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about the show being made into a horror movie, but it looks like it might be actually be fun.
MS: If you saw Michael Myers and Jamie Lee Curtis hitchhiking on the same deserted road, who would you pick up?
ME: Jamie Lee. Love how her character has developed in the movies! I share her paranoia. Well, paranoia is an irrational fear, so maybe she's just prepared. Yeah...that's it...prepared.
MS: OK, how excited are you for next Halloween when "Halloween Kills" hits theaters? ME: I can't wait!! I thought they were going to end it with the last one, so I was stoked to find out it's going to be a trilogy!
MS: Say you are a horror movie villain, what is your weapon of choice?
ME: Classic butcher knife. Very scary!
MS: What do you wish for people this Season of the Witch?
With merely three days to Halloween today's Monday Motivation is the adage "Follow Your Heart." In keeping with the Season of the Witch I have provided a macabre to some, delightful to others illustration of this. "Follow Your Heart" is a personal thing that I can not, therefore will not define for you. Let's just say it is for certain not the "Tell-Tale Heart" now that's something really scary! The other can be too just not in a supernatural sort of way. Thus today I am going to go where my heart leads me. Except I will not have mine outside my body on a leash. Yeah, if I did that I would be dead, and unable to get my bliss on. Only if I was a Zombie that could work, and then I'd most likely gnaw on it or something to that grotesque effect. It's time, you have your Monday Motivation mission, get to it minions!
While on Facebook yesterday an app came through to plug in your birth year to find out what was the big horror movie at that time. So for the thrill and chill of it, I did just that. Well guess what came up from the great beyond? Roman Polanski's Repulsion starring Catherine Deneuve, oh alright, the year was 1965. Here is the synopsis: "A sex-repulsed woman who disapproves of her sister's boyfriend sinks into depression and has horrific visions of rape and violence." While I did not see it the year it was out, duh, I did happen to view it in my twenties, not knowing it was the big fright fest of the year of my birth. I knew that being born a snake was cool, now it has been solidified. It is time for another viewing of this classic, with me being older and wiser. While I liked it when I first saw it, I believe this is a film, like so many, that gets better with life experience. Besides who can resist the eternal beauty of Deneuve and the Directing mastery of Polanski? Yeah, I thought not...only four more days until Halloween! Survivors' firsthand accounts of the wild times, the 72 hours leading to the crash, the crash itself and its aftermath
At the height of their fame in 1977, southern rock band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, was struck with tragedy -- a plane crash that killed the band's founder and lead singer Ronnie Van Zant along with Steve Gaines, backup singer Cassie Gaines, assistant road manager Dean Kilpatrick, pilot Walter McCreary and co-pilot William Gray. I'll Never Forget You: The Last 72 Hours of Lynyrd Skynyrd chronicles the story of three survivors: security guard Gene Odom, lead backup singer Leslie Hawkins, and guitar tech Craig Reed. These survivors give their firsthand accounts of the wild times of the band, the 72 hours leading to the crash, the harrowing crash itself and its aftermath.
The documentary features original behind-the-scenes film footage of life with the band before the crash, dramatic reenactments illustrating key dramatic scenes, and high-end CG animations--including a simulation of the plane crash that matches the NTSB report. Rare interviews with four first responders were also captured, filmed on location at the crash site in Gillsburg, Mississippi. Based on Gene's book, I'll Never Forget You, this documentary offers the fond remembrance of one man's journey with this legendary band, but more importantly, the loss of his dearest friend. Gene's unique perspective and down-to-earth sensibility grants unique access to the behind-the-scenes story, the celebration and the tragedy.
The film weaves the three survivors' stories together to paint a picture of what might have been and the web of tragic decisions leading to the plane crash that forever altered their lives -- and Lynyrd Skynyrd's place in history.
When her husband dies in a tragic accident, widow Corrine Dollanganger (Victoria Tennant, The Holcroft Covenant) takes her four children to the ancestral family home she fled before they were born. Locked away in the attic by their tyrannical grandmother (Academy Award® winner Louise Fletcher, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest), it falls to older brother and sister Chris (Jeb Stuart Adams, The Goonies) and Cathy (Kristy Swanson, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) to care for their younger siblings. But with their mother growing increasingly distant and erratic and a mysterious sickness taking hold, will any of the Dollanganger children survive to escape the clutches of the house's cruel matriarch? Originally published in 1979, VC Andrews' novel Flowers in the Attic was a smash hit, spawning four sequels and going on to sell over 40 million copies worldwide. With undercurrents of incest and child abuse and a haunting score by Christopher Young (Hellraiser), Flowers in the Attic is a dark and chilling Gothic suspense thriller in the classic tradition.

In case you don't wrap your head around my look and quote this week, it's all about me letting loose my inner Norman Bates courtesy of Sir Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho. Which just so happens to be one of my favorite films of all time. It's only one week until Halloween minions, get in formation! I'm gonna lick Satan's _______ fill in the blank. There is something you want from Satan I'm sure! Ghosts have fashion rules, deal with it. "Before Trump I was not aware of how many different ways a person could be awful" - The Tweet Of God When that cute guy at the gym pulls down his pants and shows you the stitches in his booty, and you didn't ask to see them Is having “no filter” just a way to avoid empathy? In case you were wondering...Martha Stewart has some thoughts about Felicity Huffman's prison ensemble. Cool fact of the week - John Cena is now following me on Twitter, Oh Daddy! "It doesn’t matter who or what you are, I’m going to torture you in hell just the same as everyone else" - Satan
Woman Crush of the Week - Rose McGowan"Scream" I always liked my women strong & sassy Pardon me, did I hear you say spinach?! It's time for Skeleton on Gelatin Moving on up to the gutter Let's have a Raveyard! "In the midnight hour babe more, more, more, With a rebel yell more, more, more" Rebel Yell, Billy Idol Yep, this pretty much sums it up for me today. Rebel Yell by Billy Idol is my current state of mind. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, it simply means it's time to break out minions and go for it! I have officially activated my inner beast mode, he's ready to rumble, how about you? What's that you ask? Why is Miley Cyrus in the photo with Billy? Well they did a duet of Rebel Yell at an iHeartRadio concert and it's quite rousing. Thus that is what I am going to bequeath on you today. Billy & Miley tearing it up on Rebel Yell! Your Welcome...
Wow! Only 10 more days until, well you know...Halloween!!! I am having a bit of an issue jump starting my day. Thus I, like I am sure many of you do, need me some good old fashioned Monday Motivation. Today I have enlisted someone to help you get that MM running, literally, it's a totally different MM, Michael Myers! Since Halloween is his jam I thought "Who better?" I mean seriously, if Michael wielding a big ole blade at you does not put some pep in your step, well then I guess he's already killed you. "Yes" you are lazy and unmotivated if MM came at you, that you didn't get motivated enough to get it together and run! BTW next Halloween MM is back in the follow up to Halloween 2018, Halloween Kills. Oh yes, and there will be blood, yours specifically if you don't get your Monday Motivation cranking full speed ahead into your day. Right here, right now....remember The Boogeyman is real! With only 11 days left until Halloween, I promise not to talk about Fight Club, but I will talk about Zoe Kravitz & Karl Glusman dressed as Marla Singer & Tyler Durden for the High Holy Day. Fight Club stars Brad Pitt and Edward Norton as Tyler Durden and Helena Bonham-Carter as Marla Singer for those of you out of the loop on that. From the looks of it I am guessing Mr. Glusman is going more for the Brad Pitt "Durden Look" than the Edward Norton version. Kudos to Zoe Kravitz for really nailing the body language Helena Bonham-Carter used in film. With Halloween closing in, do you know what your costume is going to be yet? Me either, start conjuring up something, and conjure it now!!! Fight Club on Wikipedia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fight_Club
Kristine W returns to the dance floor with Love and Lies, the first part of her three-episode Issues double-album that includes the #1 single “Stars” and her brand new single, “Just a Lie”. Being distributed globally through The Orchard, all eight songs on Issues Episode 1: Love and Lies deal with love in its complexities: the deception from others as well as the lies we tell ourselves. “Just a Lie,” the album’s second single, releases today. The song was originally about death and the loss felt by those left behind, but it morphed into the single it is today after Kristine experienced a painful divorce. “I realize now how similar divorce is to a death,” she explains. “The grieving is intense. It’s mourning the loss of the relationship, the breakup of the family, the betrayal, the time invested; so many things. I was with my husband for a long time and we worked through so many challenges, I initially assumed we’d find our way through his infidelity, but what starts as just a lie sometimes grows into a tornado of betrayal and sometimes it’s best to just let go and let God guide you to your next chapter in life.” Kristine W’s “Just a Lie” is available now on Apple Music (https://music.apple.com/us/album/episode-one-love-and-lies/1480309972) and all digital retailers via Kristine’s own imprint, Fly Again Music Productions. The Issues Episode 1: Love and Lies album will be available February 2020; available for pre-order now.
“Learning there was a third person in our marriage turned out to be only the tip of the iceberg,” Kristine W reflects. “There were layers of deceit including my ex leveraging our family home to purchase a house for his other family.”
“My friends have been rocks for me during this hard time,” she continues. “Also, my kids have been incredibly supportive and so strong. They serve as reminders that while the marriage may have given me the biggest heart break I would deal with in life, it also gave me my two greatest blessings in the world: my beautiful son and daughter.”
“Just a Lie” was produced in Amsterdam by Bob Sandee / Subgroover aka Crossnaders and they manage to give the emotional track a very cool, progressive, funky electro house vibe. “I love the unique sound of the track,” Kristine says. “The Bass line, in particular, is infectious.”
Kristine W hails from Pasco, Washington. After winning titles as Miss Tri-Cities and Miss Washington and placing first in the talent competition at the Miss America pageant, she went on to pursue her educational and musical dreams in Las Vegas. There, she found success headlining her own show at the Las Vegas Hilton, winning several 'Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year' awards and being officially sanctioned as the entertainer who performed more live shows at the Las Vegas Hilton than any other performer in its history, including Elvis. The award led to June 28th being officially sanctioned Kristine W day in the state of Nevada.
She began recording pop and dance tracks in 1994. Her first track, “Feel What You Want” reached #1 and since then, Kristine W has had a steady flow of chart toppers. Her latest single, “Stars” became her 17th Billboard #1. She now ties Mariah Carey for the sixth-most No. 1s since the chart’s August 28, 1976, inception. Madonna leads the chart with 46.
It’s been five years since the release of Kristine W’s last full-length album, New & Number Ones. The 13-track album included re-edited versions of six of her classic songs as well as hit single “Everything That I Got”, “So Close to Me”, and “Love Come Home.”
Divorce is not Kristine’s first life struggle. She is a leukemia survivor, celebrating 15 years in remission this year. She is also a survivor of the music industry that melted as a result of the digital revolution; a battle she counts as her biggest feat in life.“Frankly, it has been a lot of work,” she concedes, “but I firmly believe in the power of music and it has certainly helped me through the toughest episodes of life.”
The three episodes of Issues are intended to take listeners on a journey, with songs relating to the subject of each episode.Following Issues Episode 1: Love and Lies, Issues Episode 2: Struggles will deal with life’s battles including those associated with relationships, work, time management and self-esteem.Then, Issues Episode 3: Redemption will celebrate life's small victories. All thirty tracks of Issues will be released as a double album in early 2021.
“Life is about love and loss with fabulous triumphs and heart wrenching experiences,” Kristine W attests. “No one is getting through this journey unscathed. We need to be there for each other with a sympathetic ear always remembering what may appear as ‘Just a Lie’ is likely more significant and complicated for the person going through it.”
Kristine W’s “Just a Lie” is available now on all digital retailers via Kristine’s own imprint, Fly Again Music Productions. The Issues Episode 1: Love and Lies album will be available February 2020; available for pre-order now. Fly Again Music is a diversified entertainment company devoted to producing, uncovering and revitalizing the very best of dance, pop and jazz culture. Counting down to Halloween I thought I would get Freaky Friday on your collective souls and give you one of the most unexpected celebrity Halloween costumes I came across while ghosting on the WWW. Behold celebrity vampire Dolly Parton as, witch cackle please...Veruca Salt from Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory! You know the spoiled brat who uttered this infamous line: "All I've got at home is one pony and two dogs and four cats and six bunny rabbits and two parakeets and three canaries and a green parrot and a turtle, and a silly old hamster! I WANT a SQUIRREL!" I'll take Dolly's version, much cuter and less toxic, to say the least. This creative and out of left field costume gets an A + from me. The only thing "Freaky" about it is who'd of thunk that Ms. Parton would ever conjure this diabolical idea up? Dolly on IG - https://www.instagram.com/dollyparton/?hl=en

Warren will get the nomination but will not win the office" Damn! If I ever get this self loathing, impeach my ass!!! Just watched AHS: 1984 - WTF?! Is Camp Redwood Pet Sematary?! BTW celery juice is not the answer Why "Hello" Snacky Dumpster Let's go butt hole sunning I don't know about you, but I'm feeling witchy Jennifer Aniston joined Instagram, yeah that's fun in a certain way To appease the gender neutral trend I'm going to start saying: Listen up F#ckers!!! All I want for Halloween is to set Twitter ablaze I have a dream, to be a 17th Century opera singer who kills people in duels
