AHS: 6

Woo Hoo! It's Friday July 1st which means it's the 4th of July weekend aka vacation time!

I thought the first glimpse/tease from American Horror Story Season 6 or 666 as I like to now refer to it as would be a fun way to kick it off.

By the looks of it this October is going to be a devilish time on FX. My AHS theory that I am sure many of you fans share is this is the season we find out what happened to the demon baby from AHS season one Murder House.

Perhaps little Bartholomew, Lady Gaga's progeny from AHS: Hotel will be along for the ride.

Keep those theories coming and T.G.I.F!!!

American Horror Story: Hump Day

It's In His Kiss
Finn Wittrock & Lady Gaga
Happy American Horror Story: Hump Day Everyone! It's that time of the week when we all tune into FX and get our freak on with American Horror Story: Hotel.

Personally I am loving this season, the shows best since Murder House and Asylum. To all of you out there who thought Lady Gaga couldn't make the grade, suck it!

The story has been unfolding slowly, it is one you had to stick with until around episode three for the motivations, addictions and flaws of the characters truly started to be revealed. Wow! Is all I have to say, and this is the first season since the first two that I have actually found the material to have visceral and truly disturbing undertones.

Here is an image from an upcoming episode of Lady Gaga and Finn Wittrock producing steam for their AHS: Bad Romance, hey is there ever such thing as a Good Romance in the "Horror Story" world? I think not!

Enjoy your check in to the Cortez tonight!

amfAR 2015: Sharon Stone, Sharon Stone, Sharon Stone!

Playing Tricks With Her Crucifix
Sharon Stone
amfAR recently held it's inspiration gala in Los Angeles, CA honoring the man behind American Horror Story, Ryan Murphy and hosted by Gwyneth Paltrow.

For those of you who may not be familiar with the organization, it raises money for AIDS research.

While the event was of course attended by the AHS cast, with Lady Gaga performing at it, let's all pretend to be surprised by that fact. It was Sharon Stone who made the biggest splash of the evening.

Not only does she look amazing, her outfit for the night was the bomb!

Talk about inspiring! Well yes, not only does Ms. Stone inspire because she has still got it at fifty-seven, something you may not be aware of is she has raised millions of dollars for the organization. Yes, that's right, Sharon Stone has championed amfAR for years.

She has even been an auctioneer at an event and a very good one at that, she could get you to buy a rock for a few grand, she is that persuasive.

Cheers to inspiration! Have a good one!

Happy Birthday Matt Bomer!
Matt Bomer of American Horror Story: Hotel is like a fine wine, he only gets better with age. Yep, that's correct the hunky critically acclaimed actor turns, can you believe it? Thirty-Eight today and looks amazing!

With a Golden Globe win for HBO's The Normal Heart and many shirtless scenes in Magic Mike XXL, not to mention a his many gratuitous nude scenes in AHS: Hotel with Lady Gaga, skin never looked so yummy!

For those of you who aren't in the know, Matt is also the father of three boys Henry, Kit and Walker with husband Simon Halls.

Friday, Bloody Friday...

"It's Not The Getting Ready, It's The Clean Up"
Lady Gaga & Matt Bomer
I don't know about you, but after the Wednesday premiere of American Horror Story: Hotel my appetite for all things bloody has spiked.

Vampire type things really hit me where I live as I always wanted to be one when I was a young lad. Yep, it's true!

And nothing beats an orgy that ends in blood lust I always say. That's one of those reasons vampires will always be cooler than us mere mortals.

So I am leaving you with the image of Lady Gaga and Matt Bomer with their blood soaked victims post orgasm for the weekend.

Yes, Gaga and Bomer paid tribute to the the great vampire film The Hunger, by channeling their inner Catherine Deneuve and David Bowie, and I loved it!

I can't wait for next week's episode...bring it, I want more!

AHS: The Hotel Opens For Business This Wednesday

The Woman In Red
Lady Gaga
With the Hotel Cortez opening this Wednesday on FX, season five of American Horror Story had a premiere fit for a countess this past Saturday.

Gaga looked amazing in a red dress which is no doubt a nod to her character on the show, The Countess, and her bloody nature.

She attended with fiance, hunky Chicago Fire dude Taylor Kinney. PDA All The Way!

Wednesday can not arrive soon enough for this horror geek!

American Horror Story: Funny Girls?

Barbra and me. What a completely amazing woman. #Funnygirls
Is It Really Funny? Time Will Tell...

Things are heating up on the American Horror Story: Hotel set in a seemingly cryptic post on her Instagram, Lady Gaga released this photo with the abovementioned caption.

While both of these women are totes on the amazing scale, it gives one pause to wonder...is the ultimate diva Ms. Barbara Streisand going to be making a cameo on this AHS season of Hotel?

Or did she simply drop by the set to visit since it was in her neighborhood to show her respect to the new generation of Diva, Lady Gaga, passing the torch? The brain does wander and wonder.

Respect between two mega stars? Or co-stars in love?

Time will tell...

If This Doesn't Scare You...

Get him out of here. He broke Stevie!
Lily Rabe
The most titillating piece of casting news from American Horror Story: Hotel was announced this week and it's insane, literally.

Lily Rabe is set to portray serial killer Aileen Wournos who will be the center piece of the AHS two part Halloween episode. Boo indeed!

Rabe will be amazing as the mentally unstable prostitute who killed her johns.

Charlize Theron won an Oscar for her portrayal of Wournos in Monster, I smell an Emmy for Rabe with this casting.

I already love Halloween and this gets me even more excited for the most wicked time of the year...!

No Gaga For This Lady

Lady Gaga Ain't Pregnant
"I'm getting a little older and many people think I'm pregnant but I tell them, 'I'm just almost f--king 30,'" Lady Gaga, 29, told the audience at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles Sunday during her Cheek to Cheek concert with Tony Bennett.

Has she thought about Taylor Kinney knocking her up? Hell to the yes.

But will she in the future? Most likely, but not now.

Case closed. Keep creating Ms. Thang - you'll know when to put a bun in that oven.

Meantime, can't wait to see you in American Horror Story: Hotel!

Nothing says Hump Day like a photo of actor Matt Bomer frolicking in his swim trunks while walking in Hawaii.

Evan Peters: Five For Five

Evan Peters Meet Tate Langdon

Evan Peters will be returning to American Horror Story for it's fifth season. This makes him the only actor to do the show all five seasons.

As we AHS fans all know Jessica Lange is bowing out this season. Although I have liked him in all the seasons my favorite character he has played on the anthology series is Tate Langdon from season one "Murder House."

On American Horror Story: Hotel he will be playing a character know as:

The Prowler, a mysterious young man that can be found hanging around the hotel and dark alley ways - in the early and present day segments.

Sounds like we have another Tate like treat from Evan.

Season 5! Season 5! Season 5! Yay!

Michelle Pfeiffer Fills The AHS: Hotel Vacancy

Bitch, I'm Michelle Pfeiffer
With Jessica Lange out of the picture on the upcoming season of American Horror Story: Hotel I was happy to learn Michelle Pfeiffer is checking in to fill her vacancy.

Michelle, like Lange has always been one of my favorite actresses and like Jessica has earned acclaim for her film work.

The two actually starred together in movie A Thousand Acres which was based on Shakespeare's King Lear. Of course I saw it, duh! Like I would pass up the chance to see two powerhouse actress play off of one another?!

American Horror Story: Hotel centers on what goes on in a shady hotel and is told in three tales

1) Later Hotel Days

2) Present Hotel Days

3) Early Hotel Days

Pfeiffer plays Martina McBride, the previous hotel owner with many secrets in the segment Early Hotel Days.

I can't wait!

Faye, Connie, My Sister, My Daughter

Connie Britton: I'm Faye!
We go together like Connie Britton & Faye Resnick, huh?

Yes, it's true Connie Britton & Ryan Murphy are reuniting, and it feels so good.

Connie as you American Horror Story fans know was in it's virgin season: Murder House, the current star of Nashville will portray Faye Resnick, who Camille Grammer notoriously described as: "The morally corrupt Faye Resnick," on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Britton will get her moral corruption on the freshman season of Murphy's American Crime Story: The People v O.J. Simpson.

As you may recall, Resnick was OJ's slain wife Nicole Brown Simpson's friend.

OJ was acquitted - and the killer has never been found...go figure.

Scream! Ryan Murphy Is At It Again!!!

Time To Scream Again, It's Ryan Murphy
Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan the team behind American Horror Story is going straight to FOX with a 15 episode order of Scream Queens, no not Screaming Queens, Scream Queens,  a new comedy-horror anthology series.
The first season, which takes place on a college campus rocked by a series of murders, will premiere in the fall of 2015.
"I knew I wanted to work with Brad and Ian again on something comedic, and we are having a blast writing Scream Queens," Murphy said in a statement. "We hope to create a whole new genre—comedy-horror—and the idea is for every season to revolve around two female leads. We've already begun a nationwide search for those women, as well as 10 other supporting roles, and we're very grateful to Dana Walden and Gary Newman for their enthusiastic support."
No casting has been announced. Hey guys I have some great suggestions, contact me.
Scream Queens will be breaking the sound barrier in the fall of 2015. Eeeeeeeeeek!

AHS: Sarah Paulson Is A Two Headed Freak

Double Your Pleasure With Sarah Paulson
This season on an American Horror Story: Freak Show - it's two, two, two Sarah Paulson's in one.
If you need an explanation for this, hint, hint, this season is subtitled: Freak Show.
The wait is officially over now that we know who Sarah Paulson, aka our favorite Supreme, uh, I thought that was Diana Ross, will be playing when she returns for Ryan Murphy's horror show next season. Paulson announced her character by tweeting a photo of herself with two heads, who are apparently Bette and Dot.
When she took to her Twitter page she had this to say about playing the duo:
"So excited to be playing Bette AND Dot this season. Two heads are better than one!"
Looking forward to more character announcements - Hell to the yes!

Dudley Saunders: "Monsters"

Independent: This is the adjective that best describes Dudley Saunders, and that's a good thing.

From his performance art - to his activism, and first and foremost his music, Dudley could be a spokesperson for The First Amendment.

I first heard of Dudley via his CD "The Billy White Acre Sessions" and saw him perform at Genghis Cohen in Los Angeles, CA. I was hooked.

Dudley is a gifted storyteller, musician and thought provoker who stays true to his personal vision.

His latest CD: "Monsters" is no exception, Mr. Saunders is like wine, he gets better with age.

For those of you out there who are familiar with Dudley, this will be fun! For those of you who aren't well here's your chance to really get to know him. I recently checked in with the man behind the music and threw 10 Random Thoughts at him, and "Yes" he answered...

MS: Performance Art

DS: Uncomfortable. Find the place that makes you want to turn away, and you’ll know that’s where you most need to go. Then you create a brand new form that fits the shape of the uncomfortable thing, which then makes the audience uncomfortable, because they don’t know what to expect. This is very exciting to me as an audience, but most audiences prefer to be comfortable. The audiences that get excited the way I do usually turn out to be great friend material.

MS: East Village

DS: Lost Home. A geographic location where challenge and opposition to traditional modes of expression, as well as traditional subject matter, were normal and the expected minimum. A time and place not meant to stand, and maybe too easy to mythologize. I try not to look back anymore.

MS: "Love Song For Jeffrey Dahmer"

DS: Hidden key. I can tell whether people will like me based on whether or not they want to engage this song. The not-think-about-it people don’t stick around me very long. Susanne Breslin did the best interview about this song, and was not much-liked for doing it:http://www.facebook.com/l/AAQFq8mLvAQEMvlN7GaMkZy-RjEKahMDBvbZ21wPvpv63PQ/trueslant.com/susannahbreslin/2010/04/19/a-love-song-for-jeffrey-dahmer/

MS: Rolling Stone

DS: Immaterial: the magazine traffics so predictably in the mainstream and the “officially-sanctioned indies” that it reflects almost nothing of what matters to me (except for Matt Taibbi’s political reporting). I will be shocked if they ever mention my name, although maybe when I’m 80 they’ll call me “an underground legend” in some article squib. As if they hadn’t participated in making me “underground” by ignoring me. Talk to performance artist Penny Arcade and she’ll give you an earful on that media pattern.

MS: "American Horror Story"

DS: Meta-fiction. Pile up enough standard gothic tropes and they become something more. You start to feel the darker fears and desires that undergird them. This show addresses these old narratives head-on where I just pull pieces of them into story-songs I don’t actually think of as gothic -- like in my song THE ROSEWOOD CASKET, where the murdered woman’s skull asks him to “kiss my skinless face”. I was a little aware that that might seem a little horrifying, but not as much as I now see it is. Really, nothing I write every seems that disturbing when I’m writing it; it’s just after the fact I get all these reactions and go ‘oh yeah ...’ But I wonder now if other people see a stronger connection between me and Ryan Murphy? Usually the artist has the most skewed perspective on these things.

MS: Storytelling

DS: Untold. Most of the stories that matter to me - or would matter to me - go untold. And the heroic model of storytelling, where a hero learns and earns his just rewards, is primarily a lie we tell to assure the evil that they have a right to the things they’ve stolen. I’m drawn to lives with foreshortened narratives -- they get trapped too early, or are broken before they can get to redemption, or the trouble they face doesn’t make them stronger but breaks them into strange distorted shapes. A lot of pop songs just regurgitate the same old stories, and you can tell where they’re going halfway through the first line. That doesn’t make me feel anything. I think the untold people deserve their own melodies.

MS: Act-Up

DS: PTSD. My old ACT UP colleague Spencer Cox just died a few weeks ago. We met for lunch when I was touring through New York in October. We talked at length about how much untreated trauma there is in our activist generation. It was a great discussion, but it turned out he was more of an example of PTSD than I realized: he’d stopped his medication, and in December just couldn’t fight off an infection. It reminds me of something that the writer Sarah Schulman once told me, that the people who create change are rarely the ones who benefit from it. The drag queens from the Stonewall Rebellion mostly ended up poor and homeless and murdered while younger gay people experienced previously unimagined freedom. And so many of the AIDS activists who saved millions of lives are having trouble saving their own. But - and this is very ACT UP - we’ll probably do better if we pull together to save each other.

MS: "Birdbones"

DS: Exorcism. Rageful fragility. Wow, that’s a weird response! This was the performance art piece that got me the most attention, but it also marked a turning point.

Back then, I made art because I had all these horrifying ghosts in the back of my head that I couldn’t quite identify even though they ruled my life. I was a completely tortured, haunted person, but if you asked me what was wrong I had no idea. So I used performance art to make those ghosts manifest themselves so I could see them, feel them and wrestle with them. I used a form I called “witnessing,” which was essentially me bearing witness to these surreal horror stories in the enraptured voice of a psychosexual evangelist - I think the Village Voice used that term. Anyway: like a lot of tortured people, I believed that the pain would literally kill me if I faced it. Which means performance art, for me, felt a little like a suicide mission - but for the purpose of saving my life. In retrospect, no wonder I was such a basket case.

Birdbones got the last of those ghosts out of me and probably saved my life. I also got great reviews, and if the right wing hadn’t decimated arts funding, I might have become an avant-garde art-world star. Maybe I’m glad that didn’t happen: a few years later, I made my first record, RESTORE.

MS: Rainy Days

DS: Falling on the just and the unjust alike. Isn’t that in Matthew, in the King James Bible? It just means that when it rains we are all bound up in one common experience. It’s a gentle version of what happens in LA during an earthquake, or during a power outage in New York. It’s inconvenient but I love it - I’d rather be uncomfortable than disconnected.

MS: "Monsters"

DS: Unseen. Monsters that look like monsters aren’t frightening to me. Reagan’s charming face used to fill me with abject terror. Or the kindly gentle smile of Rick Warren now, filling us with uplifting platitudes while preaching anti-gay propaganda in Uganda that led directly to the deaths of gay people. Most monsters don’t believe they are monsters the way most alcoholics don’t believe they have a drinking problem.

"Monsters" are everywhere athttp://www.dudleysaunders.com/

The Horror: On "Entertain Me"

I'm such a Devil
'Tis the season to get scary, fa la la la la, la la la la - This October 2012 here on "Entertain Me" along with  our typical entertainment blogs, we are introducing a Halloween oriented blog that will be posted throughout the month featuring my fellow lovers of things that go bump in the night called: "The Horror" -

When you see this at the beginning of a blog you can either choose to run or bask in the glory that is gory, scary & fun!

Me on "The Lair"
Every subject of a blog with this caption is a lover of all things macabre and other worldly or directly involved in a project that is reflective of that sensibility -

So, here is a little something on yours truly, I love horror, I can't wait for the premiere of "American Horror Story" on October 17th! My favorite horror movie of all time is the original "Halloween" - Alfred Hitchock's "Psycho" is a close second.

I love haunted houses and hay rides and if I could be a supernatural creature I would love to be a vampire - oh and the late great Tony Scott's "The Hunger" is my favorite vampire movie ever.

The devil would be a second choice as a hot supernatural creature to be.

Also I have been in two horror projects, the Here TV Show "The Lair" where I played a "Leather Daddy Vampire" and the hot award winning flick Joe Castro's "The Summer of Massacre" where I play an undercover cop who gets his skull crushed in by The Boogeyman...!

"Entertain Me" Turns One !

Photo: Jay R. Lawton
Yep, it's hard to believe September 14, 2011 I published the first posting on this blog an interview with singer Graham Colton about his then current release "Pacific Coast Eyes".

Since that time there have been plenty of other interviews - Margaret Cho, Traci Lords & James Durbin come to mind.

Not to mention my geek guy thoughts on things I am a fan of: "American Horror Story", "Pretty Little Liars" and "Revenge".

This blog was started for me to have an outlet where I could write about who and what I wanted with regard to the Entertainment Industry. The things, people, music, movies....blah, blah, blah that I like and or find interesting.

In honor of turning a year old today I thought I would re-publish the #1 post on this blog.....or to put it a little more simply, the posting that has had the most hits of all time on "Entertain Me".

And the number one blog post is, drum roll please..... Traci Lords "Last Drag" !!!

Enjoy your weekend...!

TV Watch: American Horror Story: Asylum

I'm so excited, and I'm not gonna hide it..."American Horror Story: Asylum" looks amazingly creepy, violent and scary, everything we horror fans loved about the first installment of the FX anthology series.

From the promo trailers and artwork to the cast of returning and new actors: Jessica Lange as a sadistic nun who runs the asylum anyone??? Are perfection!

Also I am excited to see Adam Levine as one half of the characters referred to as "The Lovers" as I am sure with a character moniker like that he will inherit the "Baring Your Booty" legacy of Dylan McDermott.

Seriously October 17th 10pm on FX can not come soon enough, in the meantime here are some of my favorite images and a clip thrown in for good measure - that are building my anticipation to a....fill in your own blank my fellow AHS fans and have a macabre Labor Day Weekend...Boo!

Sister Sadistic: Jessica Lange

Obligatory Hotttie: Adam Levine

I'll Be Your Nympho Tonight: Chloe Sevigny

TV Watch: "Revenge" & "American Horror Story"

Two of my most favorite shows ever debuted last year..."Revenge" & "American Horror Story" and while I know I am a little slow on the draw with writing about the latest casting news, well whatever, I was busy writing about other things, so there and bite me!

So now I write as a fan of both shows who is over the moon or licking an udder about two of the most juicy pieces of casting evuh!

You got it, this is a fan gush, get over it. First off how brilliant was it of for the peeps behind "Revenge" to cast one of my favorite actresses, Jennifer Jason Leigh as Amanda's Mom?! She will more than go toe to toe with Madeline Stowe, she will obliterate that beotch, "Single White Female" anyone? JJL glad to have you back in a major role in a high profile project, the last time I saw you was at a Harmony Gold screening of your directorial debut with Alan Cumming - "The Anniversary Party" - "Yes" I know it's not the last time you worked, but it's the last time I saw you...go grrrrrrrrrrl, you are fierce!

Oh, and lest we forget one of the hottest men and stars on the planet, Adam Rivai Levine is on the second cycle of "American Horror Story".

Wonder if he will show butt like Dylan McDermott, odds on bet? "Yes" - hey he is sexy as heck and no proper hottie remains clothed in a horror opus.

Yep, I can't wait for the debut of these two shows, until then...I guess there is always "The People's Court".

Until they premiere tune into:
