Treat Time: Cindy Alexander "Heels Over Head"

Bubble, bubble toil and trouble...scratch the toil and trouble part. Bubble, bubble poetry and motion would best describe the video for indie artist Cindy Alexander's video for the single off of her latest CD Curve, Heels Over Head.

Yes, you guessed it, OK, maybe not. The video has the Wonderful singer in a water tank. It is poetry in motion, it's beautiful.

Let's hear what Cindy has to say about it:

"Considering the response I am getting from my video, it's obvious I need to have a water tank at all of my shows. But seriously, I am so fortunate to have had an incredible creative team behind this project. I asked for something beautiful and poetic, and I think they nailed it."

Well at least they did not nail it shut like Houdini, yikes!

Sell Naama Kates Your "Souled"

Last night I attended the record release party for Singer/Songwriter Naama Kates third outing Souled.

It was an awesome evening of fun, friends and most of all music by Naama and her band on a way cool outdoor stage under the stars at Mount Cyanide.

Naama and I have known each other since her amazing debut CD The Unexamined Life.  Upon hearing it and seeing her perform I instantly became a fan.

Souled to me is her best effort to date, Naama has really hit her stride as an artist. Last night she really brought it as a performer as well, I felt like I was watching a star declaring themselves. With visuals that perfectly complimented the show, courtesy of Michael Allen, and a band that was top notch. Not to mention great music supervision by Naama's producer Cyrus Melchor, it was a complete feast for the ears and eyes.

Souled is out now. If you haven't done so, c'mon, go ahead and sell your "Souled" to Naama Kates. I promise you will enjoy the experience.

Author M.E. Franco Brings It For Halloween!!!

Tombstone Hugger, M.E. Franco
Yes, it's that time of the year again Halloween! Every year here on Entertain Me I have fellow horror lover and author M.E. Franco stop by for some tricks, treats, but most of all fun!
M.E. is the author of the popular supernatural thriller Dion trilogy, Where Will You Run, Where Will You Hide & Where Will You Turn.
I asked her 10 Questions in the spirit of the season, read how she answered...if you dare!

MS: If you were a freak what kind of freak would you be?
ME: From a very young age, I've had this fascination with sword swallowers. It freaks me out and captivates me at the same time. I want to watch, but I don't want to watch, but I have to watch... I'm not the only one, everyone holds their breath when the sword swallower comes out. It's truly scary, but you can't look away. That's what I'd choose to be: the sword swallower.
MS: What did you think of the series finale of True Blood?
ME: Lame comes to mind, but I'll go with a bad vampire pun and say that it sucked, but not in a good way. I was disappointed.
Look, It's Reinn
MS: Which character in your supernatural thriller Dion series of books do you have a crush on?
ME: I really wanted to focus a lot on Raith when I started, but when I wrote the second book, Reinn stole my heart. (Don't tell Raith).
MS: If birds of a feather flock together, what do bats do?
ME: Hang out. (I'm full of bad puns today)
Adam Levine: I Win Satan!
MS: Satan and Adam Levine both want your soul, who do you give it to?
ME: Have to go with Adam, he has better tattoos Although I hear Satan is quite the singer.
Michael Myers Experiences Frequent Neck Pain
MS: Michael Myers asks you on a date with a nod and a blank stare, what is your answer?
ME: "I don't remind you of your sister or a babysitter, do I?"
Hey Drew, What's Your Favorite Scary Movie?
MS: Name one of your favorite death scenes in a horror movie.
ME: I thought Drew Barrymore's death in Scream was masterful. That whole scene with her was truly creepy.

MS: What type of wine do you enjoy with your Fava Beans?
ME: I think a nice, old vine zin would be a fabulous pairing, although I hear they also go well with chianti.
C'mon M.E. Show Me Those Fangs
MS: You have been turned into a vampire, what is the first thing that you would do?
ME: Bite Gerard Butler. Wait...that sounds creepy, but I don't think if violates the restraining order.
MS: Driving down a deserted country road you spot Morgan Le Fay hitchhiking, do you give her a ride?
ME: Absolutely I would! It's always good to have a powerful sorceress who owes me a favor. Plus, she could probably afford the Cheetos and Diet Dr. Pepper for the trip.

Hi, Remember Me? I'm Laura Palmer.
Laura Palmer: "I feel like I know her... but sometimes my arms bend back."

The mystery that ensued set off an eerie chain of events that plunged the inhabitants of Twin Peaks into a darker examination of their very existence. Twenty-five years later, the story continues...

Dr. Nina's Tips On How To Treat Yourself For Halloween

It's Dr. Nina
Dr. Nina Savelle-Rocklin, Psy.D. aka Dr. Nina has made a house call to Entertain Me a couple of times before.

Nina specializes in eating disorders by digging to the root of where the problem lies. She encourages people to Win The Diet War by finding the real issue at hand. Last year I had her dole out her wisdom about how to navigate what I like to call "The Eating Season," you know that time between Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve.

This year I got to thinking that no one ever really addresses Halloween. So I paged Dr. Nina and asked her if she would be willing to take on my favorite day of the year with her usual flair in the spirit of the season.

I promise this is not a trick, Dr. Nina is here with some awesome tips on how to treat yourself for Halloween!

1.  Afraid of the dark?  The scariest thoughts are the dark ideas you have about yourself.  Keep out thoughts like, "I suck" or "I'm too fat/stupid/ugly" or "Who would love me?"    Those thoughts just make you feel terrible about yourself.  And that's truly frightening.

Boo!
2.  Got ghosts?  If the ghosts of the past are haunting you, it's time to deal with them.  If you had a critical parent, teacher or sibling, and you find yourself being equally critical to yourself, that critical voice belongs to others, not to you.  Find your authentic voice, and view yourself as you are, not as others treated you.

3.  Give yourself a treat.  If you find yourself saying, "I'm going to be good this Halloween and not eat a single piece of candy," or "I was so bad because I ate that pumpkin cheesecake," then you're connecting your character to what you eat.  Allow yourself to eat candy on Halloween without feeling guilty.  Deprivation or anticipation of deprivation leads to overeating.   If you give yourself permission to have candy you may actually eat less!

"Just Say No"
4.  Living a zombie life?  Do you feel as if you're the walking dead, doing the same thing day after day, not truly enjoying your life to the fullest?  If so, bring yourself back to life.  Think about one thing that you've been waiting to do "one day" and make today the day you start working towards doing that thing.  If you want to run a marathon, go for a walk or a short run.  If you want to start dating, go online and check out some dating sites.

5.  Be playful.  Remember the fun of going out with your friends on Halloween?  This occasion is about being with other people, dressing up, and having fun.  So, have a great time.  Happy Halloween!!

Adam Levine Is A Stalker

Adam Levine & His Wife, Model Behati Prinsloo
Give Us A Halloween Treat
"Baby I'm preying on you tonight
Hunt you down eat you alive
Just like animals" - "Animals" Maroon 5

That's right, Adam Levine is going as a stalker for Halloween in the video for the latest Maroon 5 single: Animals.

His costume of choice is quite controversial apparently among organizations that are advocates for stopping violence against women.

Everyone has the right to their opinion, and here's mine. Having seen the video and being a fan of horror, to me this is pretty standard fare and no big deal.

Personally I find Anaconda by Nicki Minaj or Robin Thicke's date rape song Blurred Lines way more offensive and degrading to women than Animals.

Animals is essentially a short slasher film about a stalker that has premiered during the perfect time of the year, Halloween. Translation, it's a great video and brilliant marketing, nothing more.

Sorry if I do not share in the outrage over something that is seen in TV shows and movies all the time.

I love the video, it's creepy, sexy and has great imagery, everything a gritty horror movie should be! Check it out below!

Comedian Matt McClowry Has A Fear Of Trojan Condoms

Matt McClowry
Matt McClowry "Uncomfortable"
available digitally on October 7th

Since this is the season of things that scare, Matt McClowry admits to his fear of Trojan Condoms in the YouTube clip posted below.

If you have not ever heard of Matt, well here's your chance to check him out, don't be afraid...

Diagnosed with a high-functioning form of Autism called Asperger's as a teen,
he has spent more than a decade overcoming the syndrome by honing
his stand-up skills on comedy stages across the country.

"McClowry is a tall, clean-cut comedian out of Detroit. His standup is smart and analytical, full of unexpected leaps of logic, and delivered in a deep, distinctive deadpan.
He's funny and engaging." - CityArts

There's no one quite like Matt McClowry. An awkward, gentle soul trapped in a hulking physique, Matt has been surprising audiences for nearly a decade, putting a sharp edge to universal topics like family, relationships, and modern life. Born and raised outside of Detroit, McClowry began his pursuit of a stand up career in 2004 by signing up for a local open-mike night, and his comedy has taken off from there. Over the past 10 years, he has built up both his confidence and writing skills and he now enjoys a reputation as one of the strongest acts in the Midwest.
Part of what gives Matt's comedy a truly unique edge is the fact that he is a high-functioning individual with Asperger's Syndrome. Matt does not fit the stereotypical picture of someone with Asperger's and fans often question him on that point. He finds himself to be much more comfortable on stage than off stage. One common symptom of Asperger's Syndrome is not recognizing humor, and despite being a professional comedian, McClowry is not immune to struggling with that. He has found ways to push past this obstacle and uses Asperger's to influence his career in a positive way.
There have been many highlights in Matt's career so far. He has performed at the Boston Comedy Festival, Gilda's LaughFest, The Laughing Skull Comedy Festival, and The Bridgetown Comedy Festival.

He was a winner at The World Series of Comedy, he has performed at the Oddball Comedy Festival, opened for Whitney Cummings and Marc Maron, and has appeared with Bill Burr at Flappers Comedy Club in Los Angeles. He has been seen on Comcast Television and been heard on Sirius XM Radio.

"With a voice for radio and movie star looks, McClowry can be intense and a bit intimidating in person. He's tall, with broad shoulders and eyes that look right through you. At one point in his life, he considered a career in professional wrestling; seriously or not, one look at him and you can see the possibility. But on stage, he becomes your smart-mouthed brother who dares you not to laugh, and you want to get to know him better - signs of a real star." - Gary Allison, Daily Tribune
