Apparently there is a new tradition happening in NYC during this time of quarantine. The citizens of the Big Apple take to their balconies at a designated time and bang pots and yell in support of essential workers "healthcare workers, delivery store workers and delivery people." What a great way to boost morale in the hard hit city. Above we see Sarah Silverman enthusiastically joining her fellow New Yorkers in the much deserved recognition. Thus I leave you with this notion, try to do something every day that helps put a smile on you and other peoples faces. Trust me it is amazing. The few times I venture out during the week I always smile at people as I pass them on the street or shop side by side with them for groceries. It's a simple yet powerful thing to do. After seeing E.G. Daily perform an amazing show at the Whisky A Go Go this past November it was a no brainer she would return for another go at the venue. Well yesterday I got an E-mail from the Whisky saying that E.G. will indeed be coming back to play on their legendary stage on the Sunset Strip. Tickets are on sale now for the July 22nd, yes, you heard me correctly it ain't happening until July. Talk about planning ahead, like really ahead... What?! Why do I follow Shay on the internet? Because those who know me know what a huge Pretty Little Liars fan I am - and Shay is terrific as Emily Fields on the show!
Not to mention she looks amazing in this shot, but that goes without saying, I mean seriously the word "Pretty" in the title of the show says it all.
The mind does wonder what draws Shay to flamingos, is she a John Waters fan perhaps?

Margaret Cho is walking the streets to raise awareness for one of her hometown, San Francisco's more pressing problems: homelessness.
Margaret stepped out on Monday to begin what she says will be a daily, two-month commitment to busk on the streets of San Francisco to raise money for the city's vast homeless population
Armed with her guitar case, Cho hit the road and busked a move with a handwritten sign that says, "If you have, give; if you need, take (please remember your fellow man)."
"We have a small amplification system and big hearts," Cho said on Facebook over the weekend. "We will make videos and I have some secret amazing legit superstars who will come and sit in with us. Chillin' Before The Show: Naama & Her Producer Cyrus Melchor
Last night Naama Kates took the stage @ Silverlake Lounge with her producer Cyrus Melchor and their awesome band to preview her upcoming album Souled. The show included video projected visuals that added to the ambiance and presentation of each individual song. Naama also threw in a couple tracks from her first two discs King For The Day and The Unexamined Life for good measure. The show was the first time Ms. Kates got out from behind the keyboard and danced along with her own tunes. The results were amazing, great job to everyone involved! All of the photos of the evening were taken by yours truly.

Christina Aguilera flaunts her pregnancy in V Magazine, and why not? I remember when Demi Moore did it on the cover of Vanity Fair and what a buzz it caused. I also remember being in an elevator with studio executives at the now defunct Orion Pictures, performing my first industry job in the mail room, and them making fun of her. Typical money men, not one ounce of artistic expression or creativity in them. What I felt was a beautiful and bold move at the time is now the norm for female artists. Stone & Banderas: Seriously Does This Look Like Two People Dating?!

As a journalist I do not want to remotely be thought of as a hack or someone who does not know the facts before they shoot their keyboard off. When I first saw this item that Banderas and Stone were involved via a post by a "journalist" on my Facebook home page, while I do not purport to know either personally, I was suspect enough of it not to post it here on Entertain Me. "Antonio is a brother to me, and Melanie (Griffith) has been with me for each and every birth of my three children, They are my family" Sharon told the Daily Mail. The photos of them taken together at the Cannes Film Festival, like the one above, do not show any signs of flirtation or romance. They look like two good friends who have an affection for one another. All you would have to do is look at them for proof that this rumor is false. Yes, they do look amazing together as beautiful people usually do and let's hear it for both them proving over fifty is hot, hot, hot and leave it at that. Dear fellow "journalist" if you insist on still calling yourself that, who posted this via Facebook, please stop giving other people in the field a bad name and check yourself, before you wreck it for the rest of us who report responsibly. That's Margaret Cho talking about the Dorian Gray like portrait she has hired artist Vincent Castiglia to do of her with 18 millimeters of her own blood. That's right Margaret is going to have a portrait of herself in blood, how truly wonderful!
And I did not make that comment in jest, referring to the quote from Cho above I am completely on the same page as her...I once had a primal piercing done because I wanted to experience something that raw. It was a huge rush!
It was in my ear, they put a sharpie mark on my lobe where they wanted the hole to be, numbed it with ice and then took a double headed hollow needle aimed and jammed it through my ear, the adrenaline rush not to mention the shooting blood was a pretty amazing and an experience I will never forget!
Margaret has known Vincent for a couple of years, but was a fan of his macabre collection of work, painted exclusively with the artist's own blood — long before the pair even met.
"I loved what he was doing, his art is so finely detailed. This is exciting to go through this process of collecting my blood and getting a portrait painted.”
Ms. Cho expects to use her bloody portrait for album covers and tour art once completed.
As a footnote this is the first time Mr. Castiglia has used anyone else's blood other than his own in his work, the piece should prove historical.

James Durbin kicked off his 2014 acoustic tour last night at The Viper Room in Los Angeles, CA -
and of course I was there!
This is the way I like James live and raw, his voice is simply amazing on it's own without the recording studio wizardry.
So all you Durbinators out there, if James is coming to a venue near you, get yourself to one, or miss out big time!
My personal favorite of the evening was when James let loose on an acoustic version of "Higher Than Heaven" - Wow!

Note to self: Kevin "KO" Olusola is an astounding and expressive cello player....That sums it up people.
The instrument loving one fifth of the amazing acapella group Pentatonix Kevin "KO" Olusola continues to push the boundaries of what that means with his solo videos. The current being a cover of "The X-Factor" Judge Demi Lavato's "Heart Attack".
Ya' know I can't really say too much more other than listen. This group is full of amazing talent, together and doing their own thang.
Keep on doing what all you guys are doing, it's off the hook!
My friend EG Daily has just done an amazing, quite raw cover of the Katy Perry song "Wide Awake" I wanted to share it with everyone and check in with EG herself about her thoughts on it...
MS: So you recently went viral with a video of you and a piano player covering Katy Perry's "Wide Awake" I loved it!
EG: It's my favorite Katy Perry song, I got with my piano player, and I wasn't going to post it because I thought it was so raw. Me in my living room my piano player, Lee Miles and I playing around with the material....then I thought: "Fuck it, post it"!
MS: It's really funny, I'm not a huge Katy Perry fan but I really like this song.
EG: The song is really good, right? It's a great song.
MS: Totally!
EG: I didn't think I liked it until I heard my piano player playing it one day and I said how beautiful the song sounded, he said it's the Katy Perry song, I told him it didn't sound like it. Then we started messing around with it, and I told him how much I loved it, good lyrics, good song.
MS: The lyrics are amazing, the best thing about it. Very healing, things are so rough for everybody right now.
EG: Yeah Honey, I know.
MS: Your cover is really raw, but I like raw.
EG: I do too, it's the real thing.
MS: You are completely Fucking awesome when you are raw!
EG: You are so sweet! It's a cover that I love and it's a beautiful song.
