Needless to say I like many was literally caught off guard and truly saddened by the passing of Olivia Newton-John. She has been a part of my life since I was born and now she is gone. She was such a bright light, absolutely magic!

Like pretty much every gay man I know she was my first Woman Crush namely because of Grease, who didn't think she was Totally Hot in that? 

Who knew when I progressed through life that I would be fortunate enough to know her. I've interviewed her twice and she was always so lovely and gracious.

My fondest memory of her though was seeing her play Los Angeles Gay Pride in 2008 with my friend publicist Ken Phillips. He and I reminisced about it yesterday and both concurred we had the time of our lives!!!

Why "Yes" it is Hot Pink Satan Friday here at Entertain Me. In case you aren't familiar with these minions from Hell, well here's your chance to get it:

Hot Pink Satan is a dark electronic adventure. HPS is Clea Cutthroat(Bonaparte) & Jeremy Creamer a.k.a. allinaline (DAATH, Chimaira). They joined forces in 2017 to create HPS, a blend of beats, noise, hooks, and sexual hellfire.

Their debut album Spells drops, well, today. Thus I asked HPS front woman, one Ms. Clea Cutthroat to name five of her favorite spells and give us the 411 on how she casts them. R U Ready?! Abracadabra, Hocus Pocus & All That Jizz of course U R!!!

5 MAGIC SPELLS
1. Purple Paint Protection Spell: For this spell you will need a red cup filled with royal purple paint, salt, a towel, and a crowd of people.

Put on Hot Pink Satan’s UTI, stand in the center and use the salt to draw a circle around yourself. 3 times chant “U suck, go Die, U gave me a UTI” take the purple paint from the red cup and smear it all over your face and body. Now hurl yourself into the crowd of people. Watch in amazement as they scream and scatter. So mote it be. 2. Keep Nipple Tape on During Shows Spell: For this spell you need brick dust, black electrical tape, a photo of Wendy O. Williams, and red chili peppers. Prepare the bowl of dried red chili peppers and present it in front of your picture of punk goddess Wendy O. Williams. Take 4 pieces of electrical tape, make them into 2 “x”s and place in front of alter. Sprinkle brick dust thru the tape. Ask Wendy for her guidance. So mote it be

3. Blood Spell for Youthful Skin: This spell is guaranteed to keep you looking 10 years younger, and you don’t even need to murder like Countess Elizabeth Bathory. For this powerful spell, begin by burning sage at your altar with a picture of the Goddess of the crossroads: Siouxsie Sioux. Prick your finger and mix 3 drops of your pure blood into a cup of strawberry flavored fake blood. Smear this magical ointment all over your body and let dry as you listen to Hot Pink Satan’s album, Spells. When done, shower and revel in the magical results!

4. Spell for a Bountiful Booty: For this spells you will need a pair of stiletto boots, a black lace thong washed in holy water, and a protein bar. Play “Squirt” in the background as you put on your thong, and boots. Pour a cup of holy water (or Florida water) over your head, and squat in stilettos for the duration of the song. Repeat three times. The next time you see Clea, give her a handshake of respect. So mote it be. 5. Guides for Hot Pink Sexual Magic: Sex Magic is a classic High Magik and should be done when one is ready to “receive”. Light 3 red candles, anoint yourself in a bath of sandalwood, rose petals, and 6 drops of blood. Take a microphone chord and wrap it around yourself 6 times thinking to Clea Cutthroat, and focus on receiving blessing of sensual delights from Hot Pink Satan. Fairy Tales Do Come True!

With all the heinous things happening in the world around us, it's nice to witness a real life Fairy Tale - Once upon a time....

Thus let's pop open a bottle of our finest bubbly and toast to the union or Prince Harry & Meghan Markle on this May 19th 2018!

For those of you who think this event is frivolous, you may want to re-think that position. For better of for worse this Royal Wedding matters on so many levels, politically and psychologically.

How so? Let me break it down for you.

On the political front you have two philanthropists getting hitched who, in lieu of wedding gifts gave a list of charities they would like their guests give donations to. Meghan Markle is biracial, while I am at loathe to make this a point since it is 2018 - sadly it is still significant. It's the uniting of two different countries, think about it, but not too hard.

Psychologically with what seems like weekly mass shootings happening and the general state of the planet,this reminds us the magic of love really does exist. We need the escapism and pageantry right here, right now. There hasn't been a Cinderella story like this since Grace Kelly married Prince Rainier of Monaco.

"Yes" people today we are reminded that their is hope in the world and that Fairy Tales have the power to still come true when we choose love over hate. 

Congratulations to the happy couple.Let love rule!!!

Tis' the Season of the Witch

Atlas Obscura presents See/Saw, an evening with performer and award-winning magician Siegfried Tieber. Opening on Thursday, September 14, 2017 and running for seven weeks, Tieber will play host, historian, and illusionist as he guides intimate audiences on an unconventional journey. An immersion into a magician’s mind, See/Saw is an invitation to take a closer look at the art of conjuring with playing cards: a contemporary take on an ancient art form, where the important question isn’t how, but why. This limited engagement will take place at Civic Center Studios in Downtown Los Angeles. Our host’s ambition is to share (and infect us with) his passion for a beautiful but often misunderstood art form.

Directed by Magic Castle/Academy of Magical Arts magician Jon Armstrong, See/Saw will run from September 14 through October 29, 2017; six shows per week, over four days each week. Various showtimes (please refer to the ticketing link). Civic Center Studios – located at 207 South Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90012 – is a secret hideaway nestled inside the historic core of Downtown Los Angeles. Formerly the office of criminal defense attorney Max Solomon (Bugsy Siegel and Mickey Cohen's lawyer), today this brick and steel den is a production studio and cultural center for artists and musicians. While writing about The Holiday Season this year one of my most interesting and favorite Ghosts of Christmas Past memories kept haunting me...

As a youngster I remember watching one of Bing Crosby's Holiday Specials with my parents, when what to my wandering eyes did appear but David Bowie to sing "Little Drummer Boy" with Bing this year.

Even as a kid I was a little taken aback as I was keenly aware of Bowie's reputation as a Rock-N-Roll raconteur and Crosby's as the picture of family wholesomeness.

But this was pure magic to me and truly formed an aesthetic that would be part of the basis of who I became in my adult life.

Of course guess who I became a fan of and guess who stayed my parents singer?

Here is one of the greatest most influential moments in Entertainment history, not to mention my  young life.
