When I was sixteen it was a very good year. I landed my first job as a teenager ever, and it was my teen dream job. What was it? Working in a movie theater of course! 

It was also the year, what would become my favorite vampire film ever came out, The Hunger. Since I worked there I got to see it for free, and that I did, five times!

Visually and conceptually it was stunning with graphic sexuality and vampire blood letting. Catherine Deneuve was born to play the ultimate ice queen vamp, Miriam Blaylock. David Bowie was the perfect compliment are her rapidly deteriorating decades old lover John Blaylock. Then there's Susan Sarandon as Dr. Sarah Roberts who thinks death is a disease that can be cured, little does she know....

With it's bold bi-sexuality, exploration of life & death and perfectly cast actors, this is one vampire fest blood sucking freaks should not miss!

Only 6,6,6 more days until Halloween!

I have a confession to make. When I was a kid I wanted to grow-up to be a vampire, no joke, for real. My Dad and myself used to watch horror movies during the weekend on TV. Dracula has always held a deep fascination with me. That interest of course extended to any other cool vampires that I took an inkling to.

Personally I am going out on sort of a limb here...not! That my intense interest in vamps stems from their powers being intertwined with sex and eroticism. 

My favorite vampire film of all time is the late Tony Scott's The Hunger. Following a close second is season five of the TV anthology American Horror Story: Hotel.

Lady Gaga was a kick ass mistress of the night and Matt Bomer as her paramour gave me a certain stirring in my groin. 

Imagine my surprise when I came across a music video montage of Hotel done to one of my favorite songs ever Tear You Apart by She Wants Revenge.

While the song was featured during season five it was used for a specific scene, this video includes several scenes from Hotel and knocks it out of the fucking park!

I don't know about you, but after the Wednesday premiere of American Horror Story: Hotel my appetite for all things bloody has spiked.

Vampire type things really hit me where I live as I always wanted to be one when I was a young lad. Yep, it's true!

And nothing beats an orgy that ends in blood lust I always say. That's one of those reasons vampires will always be cooler than us mere mortals.

So I am leaving you with the image of Lady Gaga and Matt Bomer with their blood soaked victims post orgasm for the weekend.

Yes, Gaga and Bomer paid tribute to the the great vampire film The Hunger, by channeling their inner Catherine Deneuve and David Bowie, and I loved it!

Alexander Skarsgard who played the vampire most likely to do bad things to you, Eric Northman on HBO's True Blood recently appeared on the red carpet in drag of all things for the premiere of his movie: The Diary of a Teenage Girl.

Was he shooting an audition video for RuPaul's Drag Race? Showing support for one of his co-stars, drag performer Peaches Christ? No one knows for sure, but talk about attention getting!

The Diary of a Teenage Girl,  is based on Phoebe Gloeckner's graphic novel set in 1976, Skarsgård plays Monroe, a 35-year-old man who is dating Chloe (Kristen Wiig) and later begins an affair with her 15-year-old daughter Minnie ( Bel Powley).

This may explain the choice of outfit, being as the subject matter will most likely stir up controversy, so why not add a little more fuel to the fire?

Is Megan Fox A Vampire Lesbian?

While surfing the Internet I stumbled upon this, quite eye catching photo of Megan Fox with her Director/Co-Star James Franco getting into character on the set of her upcoming film Zeroville.

It didn't hurt that this image courtesy of Franco's Instagram was captioned "Vampyros Lesbos" and features Fox and another actress covered in blood and James sandwiched between them.

Yes a few of my favorite things vampires, blood, James Franco & Megan Fox all in one on set photo, I'm so in!

Franco enthusiastically fawned over his co-star by stating: "Megan Foxy is the best!"

Zeroville is based off of Steve Erickson's 2007 novel by the same name, which follows the story of a young actor arriving in Hollywood in 1969 "during a transitional time in the industry." The film also stars Franco's younger brother Dave Franco, and his partner in bromance Seth Rogan.

Color me intrigued...

Having a hit musical can cause scheduling conflicts, especially when it's extended! My congrats go out to Stuart Gordon and his stage version of the hit cult film, Re-Animator! 

Yes, the ubiquitous Mr. Gordon was supposed to give a full length interview to Entertain Me, but due to both of our conflicting schedules it was unable to be made into a reality. Yes, it's that time of the year again Halloween! Every year here on Entertain Me I have fellow horror lover and author M.E. Franco stop by for some tricks, treats, but most of all fun!

I asked her 10 Questions in the spirit of the season, read how she answered...if you dare!

MS: If you were a freak what kind of freak would you be?
ME: From a very young age, I've had this fascination with sword swallowers. It freaks me out and captivates me at the same time. I want to watch, but I don't want to watch, but I have to watch... I'm not the only one, everyone holds their breath when the sword swallower comes out. It's truly scary, but you can't look away. That's what I'd choose to be: the sword swallower.

MS: What did you think of the series finale of True Blood?
ME: Lame comes to mind, but I'll go with a bad vampire pun and say that it sucked, but not in a good way. I was disappointed.

MS: Which character in your supernatural thriller Dion series of books do you have a crush on?
ME: I really wanted to focus a lot on Raith when I started, but when I wrote the second book, Reinn stole my heart. (Don't tell Raith).

ME: Absolutely I would! It's always good to have a powerful sorceress who owes me a favor. Plus, she could probably afford the Cheetos and Diet Dr. Pepper for the trip.

The Horror: Why Traci Lords Avoids Mirrors

Actress Traci Lords is no stranger to horror films, having appeared in all sorts of mayhem related to the horror genre, I mean who could forget her as Racquel "The Vampire Bitch" (Seriously?! Has anyone ever heard of a non-vampire bitch?) in " Blade".

Not to mention her Award Winning role as Mom "Phyllis" to Annalynne McCord's sociopath daughter "Pauline" in one of my favorite psychologically disturbing films of all time Richard Bates Jr's critically acclaimed "Excision" - I highly recommend this one.

She recently wrapped "Devil May Call" about a sadistic killer getting to a girl through a crisis hotline -

Traci has admitted to me in the past that horror movies really scare her even though she knows it isn't real and has acted in them - Tis' the season, so I checked in with one of my favorite people to find out what scares her the most when filming one.

R.I.P: Tony Scott

This writer is indeed sorry to hear of Director Tony Scott's recent suicide, it was revealed today that he took his life over an inoperable brain tumor.

Tony directed many prolific films such as "Top Gun" & "True Romance" - most people forget (since it is so different from the rest of his repertoire) That he directed the elegant and artsy vampire flick "The Hunger".

With three of the most interesting leads in cinema history, the elegant and timeless Catherine Deneuve, the sexy and sensual Susan Sarandon & the enigmatic and never boring David Bowie.

This was a film that shaped me in my youth. Thanks to my late Father I have always had a thing for horror films. Cut to my first job ever in at the tender age of 16 in a movie theatre - and guess what film played in it, you guessed it "The Hunger"...

A modern take on vampire's it was the first time I had seen horror and eroticism blended so elegantly and artistically - this showed how horror could be adult and exciting. Since I got to see movies for free, I watched this at least 10 times! Sadly Hollywood does not make adult horror anymore and that's really a shame, and I think Scott's vampire yarn was pretty close to the last of this breed.

Tony Scott's "The Hunger" is one of the great modern horror films of American Cinema - and it really affected this writer, in fact one of my proudest possessions is the original lobby poster which I acquired on the job, I have it framed in my apt.

While there are many memories for everyone of this late great director of cinema, this is my personal and favorite one.

In a rural house off the coast of Southern California Sookie Stackhouse and her wanna be vampire companion Michael Shinafelt live in harmony.


Every night they are driven in a limo by a mysterious driver, that only Sookie has seen. Tonight she insists they go to a underground club on skid row, Michael is fascinated and frightened all at once, is this the night he becomes a vampire…?

“True Blood” has yet to premiere, but it’s definitely in the air with it’s June 10Th Season Five promotion happening in full force.

While the above scenario is so not from the show, it was an actual dream I had last night, No, I am not joking.

Growing up I always thought being a vampire would be such a cool thing. Living forever, never growing old and always being in the drivers seat.

OK, I am an adult now, but one can still dream… despite the “shark jumping” of Season Four - I am sure the people behind this amazing show realized the error of their ways (Yeah, Marnie effen sucked, and not in a Vampire way).

My hopes for this season? All bets will be off, it will find it’s center again and kick some major a$$!

Thank you , Alan Ball for giving an amazing voice to a childhood fantasy, the one I always imagined.

Waiting sucks, but is worth it! Looking forward to hanging with Sookie, Eric & Bill again.

TV Watch: True Blood Season 5

It has been officially confirmed, after an initial press leak,  that Christopher Meloni, formerly of "Law & Order SVU" (Special Victims Unit, for those who need an acronymn translation) is coming to season 5 of my beloved "True Blood" (A special shout out to Debby Holiday for my intitial alert to the leak) ....

According to the press release he is playing a "powerful and ancient vampire" uh, aren't they all?!

As a fan of both shows this has got this fang banger quite stoked, can I get a heart ripped from someone's chest high five?!

No word yet on whether he is a good vampire or a bad vampire, I am guessing he is a total bad ass, and after last years annoying and lackluster villain Marnie (yes, she of the over articulated voice and a demeanor that only an infant could fear) I can't wait for someone as fierce as Mr. Meloni to let loose his devil inside..!

Here's to plenty of  "doing bad things to you"  on the upcoming season of "True Blood" Meloni style...

7S: Yum, Red Robin, Yum. And also the fact that he comes from the land of booberdoop and there they passed a law where you need to be bobbing at all times! If you are not bobbing and you are caught, you will be shlooped up and thrown in jail. In jail is where they keep the loodleloppers. They are the CRAYZIES. I tell ya, they are CRAZAAY! But that’s besides the point. Anyway, so in jail if you are caught not bobbing, you become part of the group of perdoodles. Those are the really mean ones, they eat all the other creatures brains with a cup of milk and a banana every morning. Evil I say, THEY ARE THE KOOL KIDS, with a K. But only in jail.
