Love Will Keep Us Together

The Look of Love
George & Amal Clooney
While I am not in the habit of doing this in general, I feel strangely compelled during another day of over the top heat in Los Angeles to wish George and Amal Clooney a Happy One Year Anniversary !

Yeah, you remember it was the gasp heard round the world when perpetual Hollywood bachelor, George Clooney married the then Amal Alamuddin. Not only is she beautiful she is also a very accomplished Human Rights Lawyer.

So go figure when Barbara Walters interviewed Mrs. Clooney as her most intriguing person of the year all she could babble on about was how she nabbed her husband. Barbara really, retire completely not just from The View, please.

Not only are these two a media outlets wet dream of a couple, more importantly they seem like the perfect fit and in a year where an exodus of couples splitting has been a weekly occurrence it is nice to see two people who look like they were meant for each other.

Happy Sunday peeps!

Andie MacDowell Gets XXL

Andie MacDowell Feels Up Matt Bomer
Oh My!
Since the Supreme Court has declared Marriage Equality in all fifty nifty United States. I thought to myself, let's celebrate the love by posting this image of the eternally beautiful Andie MacDowell getting hands on familiar with a life size poster of her openly gay co-star Matt Bomer at the Magic Mike XXL premiere in Hollywood.

Hey nothing says equality like a straight woman copping a feel off a gay man in my opinion. It's safe and no one gets hurt.

Have a terrific weekend!

You Are My Sweet Baby: Love Song For Jeffrey Dahmer

Dudley Saunders
Dudley Saunders latest is disturbing, haunting & beautiful....

Since nobody extrapolates on their own creations better than Dudley here is what he has to say about it:

Here is the seventh lyric video from IN THESE BOXES (and also the album THE EMERGENCY LANE).

The unusual thing is that I removed the song title for IN THESE BOXES, which made it more of a straightforward S&M love song (depending on how straightforward you feel an S&M love song can be). So it was an interesting bit of artistic re-purposing.

Here's the text from the performance, which nods lightly toward Dahmer without tipping into serial murder, keeping it in the sphere of perverse romance:

"This memory was murdered.  This life was a secret.  It did not require drugs to be released.  He was transformed, as a hero should be in a proper story.  He found happiness.  The happiness was so upsetting that much care was taken to blot out any memory of it.   To ravel the story so it’s pattern could not be seen.  But his happiness had been here, in that Detroit basement that was soundproof."

Prepare yourself and watch the video after the jump.

"Independence Day 2" Elects Sela Ward As President

Sela Ward: Kicking Alien Ass!
Portraying the president of the United States in 1996’s Independence Day, Bill Pullman pilots a fighter jet straight into an interplanetary siege and delivers the rousing “We will not go quietly into the night!” speech that ultimately compels the allied human forces of earth to unite in kicking some alien butt.,,
Well that's all going to change in Independence Day 2 landing on June 24, 2016.
There's a new sheriff in town played by Sela Ward. That's correct the US has an ass kicking female leader whose name is President Lanford
Sela Ward has always been a favorite of mine, not only is she a good actress, she is just so damned beautiful. The perfect choice to play the leader of the free world!

OMG! They're Naked! Chelsea Handler & Nick Offerman

Extra, extra! "Women & Men: An Issue About Our Current Difficulties" that's what the current issue of Esquire proclaims to be all about. Yes, the mag stakes claim that the entire issue is "devoted entirely to how men and women interact." Men & Women interacting, oh my the drama.

While we are all quite accustomed to viewing Handler's ample and beautiful breasts, we are not nearly as used to seeing her derriere.

The usually clothed Offerman, who is one of the stars of Parks and Recreation is no stranger to flashing his junk. He bared everything in 2014 on Deadwood. That being stated he is not someone we see doing this on a regular basis.

"I love performing -- and I'm not an exhibitionist, I'm not a Kardashian, by any stretch. And I'm not built in the way that people regularly ask me to bare myself," he told Flavorwire of stripping down on camera. "But when things call for it, I've done it on stage, I've done it on screen...I enjoy the beauty of nature."

Bounce those hot booty's you two!

Bump Out! Kourtney Kardashian

Looking Good, Kourtney Kardashian
Yes I know it's Kourtney Kardashian, but she is nine months pregnant and looks amazing! She recently posed nude that way for Du Jour Magazine.

Also those of you who follow this blog know I  find the image a a pregnant woman nude quite beautiful.

Kourtney is no exception to my rule. I have featured Alicia Keys and Christina Aguilera - thus I feel in all fairness to my standard of what I find aesthetically pleasing I must include Ms. Double K.

Having no personal knowledge about her other than what is put out there in the media, I have no real opinion on her other than she is a beautiful woman making a life and sharing the process with the world.

In this writer's opinion that is a wonderful thing.

"I Like You" Debby Holiday

One of my favorite singers and people, Debby Holiday is back with a new twist on a chart topping classic "I Like You."

The song celebrates the 30-year anniversary of Phyllis Nelson’s original. It was a #1 hit on the Billboard Dance Chart in 1985.

I checked in with Debby to get an exclusive comment for Entertain Me on her current gem:

"What an amazing journey this has been with Tony Moran. From the first phone call when he told me about the song - to our time in the studio & filming the video! Tony works with passion & focus like I do … & I'm thrilled to hopefully honor the beautiful & talented Phyllis Nelson. Music … what a blessing!"

Yes, it was Mr. Moran's idea to cover the Phyllis Nelson original and he asked Debby to do the honor. I for one am glad he did.

This is Ms. Holiday's third collaboration with Tony - hey if it ain't broke, keep going!

They're All Going To Laugh At You, Kelly Osbourne

Kelly Osbourne: Have A Bloody Good Halloween!
Happy Monday and only 11 more days until Halloween! Yes!

I thought I would kick off the week with one of my favorite celebrity Halloween costumes, worn by one of my favorite celebrities.

Let's celebrate the season with one of the coolest people on the planet, Ms. Kelly Osbourne paying homage to one of my favorite movies with actors in their mid to late twenties  playing teenagers, Carrie.

That's right KO is dressed for the prom as the one and only Carrie White, with the must have accessory of the season, pig blood doused all over her beautiful dress.

Only she could have come up with such a great costume, and pull it off.

I love Kelly she is a tough woman with a mouth like a trucker and a heart of gold. Currently on Fashion Police, Kelly has come a long way since her The Osbournes days.

Kudos Kelly! Have a great week everyone!

Treat Time: Cindy Alexander "Heels Over Head"

Bubble, bubble toil and trouble...scratch the toil and trouble part. Bubble, bubble poetry and motion would best describe the video for indie artist Cindy Alexander's video for the single off of her latest CD Curve, Heels Over Head.

Yes, you guessed it, OK, maybe not. The video has the Wonderful singer in a water tank. It is poetry in motion, it's beautiful.

Let's hear what Cindy has to say about it:

"Considering the response I am getting from my video, it's obvious I need to have a water tank at all of my shows. But seriously, I am so fortunate to have had an incredible creative team behind this project. I asked for something beautiful and poetic, and I think they nailed it."

Well at least they did not nail it shut like Houdini, yikes!

Christina Aguilera: The Name Game

Christina Aguilera, Has A Baby Girl
With last weeks deaths of Robin Williams and Lauren Bacall, I thought it would be great to kick off this week with a celebration of life and to congratulate Christina Aguilera and her man Matthew Rutler on the birth of their baby girl this past weekend.

"So proud to welcome our beautiful daughter Summer Rain Rutler into the world,"
Love the baby name! I Have a cousin named Summer and have always thought it a great name for a girl.
Ms. Aguilera hits the studio again on August 11th to start work on a new album and wrote on Instagram:

My Bump, My Lovely Baby Bump: Christina Aguilera

She's Pregnant & Proud! Christina Aguilera
Look! She has a baby bump, she's pregnant and proud of it, check it out, don't be shy.
Christina Aguilera flaunts her pregnancy in V Magazine, and why not? I remember when Demi Moore did it on the cover of Vanity Fair and what a buzz it caused.

I also remember being in an elevator with studio executives at the now defunct Orion Pictures, performing my first industry job in the mail room, and them making fun of her.

Typical money men, not one ounce of artistic expression or creativity in them.

What I felt was a beautiful and bold move at the time is now the norm for female artists.

There is something amazing about a lovely portrait of a pregnant woman.

Thank you Ms. Aguilera for this stunning image that never gets boring. It reminds everyone of the wonder & miracle of life.

"The Day The Light Went Out" The Strange Familiar, Returns

The Strange Familiar
The Pop/Rock Band The Strange Familiar are back! After the success of their album "Chasing Shadows" the group took some down time for various reasons. That down time went on to shape their new, and in my opinion best effort yet, "The Day The Light Went Out."

I caught up with the band front woman, Kira Leyden Andrea to get the 411 on their latest, and the things that life throws at you...

MS: Hi Kira, I was watching a "Pretty Little Liars" rerun before you called I remembered when songs  from TSF's "Chasing Shadows" were featured prominently on a previous season. What about songs from the new CD? Do you think they will be heard on the show?

KLA: I hope so, I believe the music supervisor for "Pretty Little Liars" has a copy of the album. I'm hoping they'll use it, I think they are kind of waiting for something super emotional and dramatic to happen, but hopefully they will. (laughs)

MS: "Pretty Little Liars" is always super emotional and dramatic so I am sure it will happen. (laughs) While listening to the album last night all I could think was: "Wow, this is really good."

KLA: Awwwwww, Thank You!

MS: Reading some of the comments you guys made about the album, like how much more personal and deeper it was than your previous efforts, "Well, yeah." Talk about that.

KLA: We did the songs on the album at two different times and somehow they ended up fitting together. The first couple of songs we wrote were "Surrender" & "Painkiller" we had those for a little while, we played them live, sort of "road tested" them you might say, we noticed they were getting a great reaction from fans. The songs were totally a different direction than what we had done on "Chasing Shadows" in the sense they were coming from darker places.

"Painkiller" is asking the question about going through life and living it numb and letting all of these things pass you by. It started with those two songs, then when we went to do the second half we had "Rain" which we didn't even think we were going to end up using. We were really short on songs, honestly (both laugh) we had a few that we liked and we thought were good, and solid, we knew we needed more and it needed to fit with the other stuff. But we didn't know if the producers would go for it, we showed all these songs to them including "Rain" and they said this is definitely going on the album, I thought: "Really?" We really thought of it as just this cute little song, this little lullaby - we kind of went with it. I like the song on the record because it does fit. It talks about being in the desert, and it talks about being in a dark, tough place in your life that someone is bringing you through. It's a cool thing.

We went through a lot of that too, like having the baby and when I was sick for a while...you  know I was in intensive care after I had the baby, and it was scary. I was really, really sick with an abscess and I think that plays into the rest of the record. That's "The Day The Light Went Out" so, yeah.

MS: I remember seeing that on your Facebook page, I believe your husband Jeff posted it, about how ill you were. One can definitely see how it influenced the album, sometimes the best stuff creatively comes out of the most challenging of times.

Kira And TSF's Latest CD

KLA: To me the message of the album is you can experience horrible things and tragedies in your life, but out of those, that's where you really become who you want to be. It's where you become stronger and you grow so much, while you're in it, it's like: "Whoa!" But when you look back at it, you think I wouldn't be who I am today without that, believe it or not it's a good thing actually.

MS: If you actually make it through you do become a different and better person.

KLA: Yeah, I think so.

MS: Me too. What was it like being in the hospital for you?

KLA: Well, you are really going in and out of morphine la la la feelings. (both laugh) In my situation I did not know how big my abscess really was. You can't see it and you feel horrible. One day I remember this one Doctor came in, one I had never seen before and said: "Where changing your antibiotic" and he did to this really super strong one, and I'm like, Okaaaaay. I was freaking out about all these antibiotics, and the Doctor says: "You have to you are in intensive care and you are really sick." That's when it started to sink in that "Dang this is serious." We were scared and it was a really dark time, I just wanted to go home and be with my baby, I feel like I can appreciate things so much more, there are people who are stuck in the Hospital who don't get to leave for months. You can relate and empathize more with them. That's part of what feeds into the album and it's title, "The Day The Light Went Out" a lot of it too does have to do with my faith.

Because I am a Catholic, a Christian, I just like to be honest the song does have to do with that. You don't have to believe anything I believe - to appreciate the message of the song that out of something horrible and dark can come something beautiful.

MS: One of the things I like about you guys is that I get the message you put out there is an inclusive one.
Hey Everyone, It's Us!

KLA: Yeah, it doesn't matter at the end of the day we are all human beings. We are all going to go through suffering, experience loss...we can all relate to each other and that is the message I want to bring to as many people as I can.

MS: It's a good message. All the songs do fit together well, "Surrender" was a particular favorite of mine.

KLA: Very cool, that's actually my favorite. We are going to shoot a video for that one, that is our next big thing, to try and get that video done. (laughs)

MS: "Surrender" is the perfect choice for a video! So let's talk about something a little lighter, (both laugh) how is your daughter Rayne?

KLA: She is great! She is so full of life and so fun, the happiest little child. She is starting to talk and walk now.

MS: My goodness, that went quick!

KLA: She's a total person walking around, she says Mama, Dada, door...(laughs) Also she has to say "Hi" to every person she sees.

MS: It so much fun to be around kids because they see the world so differently.

KLA: Everything is exciting, everything is an adventure and everything you do is fun when you are a kid. (laughs)

Shirley Temple Remembered By Susan Olsen

Shirley Temple
With the recent passing of Shirley Temple I really wanted to say something that truly honored who she was in this great big universe.

Something eloquent and meaningful, well even though I personally did not write this I found what I was looking for.

The following is a truly awesome tribute to Ms. Shirley Temple, written by Actress, Susan Olsen best known as "Cindy Brady" from the TV show "The Brady Bunch" who was gracious enough to give me permission to post it:

It is unfortunate that Shirley Temple is associated with my least Favorite episode of "The Brady Bunch." Having me imitate Shirley by singing “Good Ship Lollipop" would have been a great idea when I was seven but at age twelve it was painfully awkward. By that age, I (not Cindy) would have preferred to emulate Shirley Temple the adult. That is the Shirley that I love most.

I read Ms. Temple’s autobiography several years ago and found myself overwhelmed with respect for her. I did not know that she had continued to act as a beautiful woman before embarking on a career in politics. What was most impressive was how truly grateful she was for her unusual childhood. She had absolutely no regrets. There were no sordid tales of being the victim of wicked Hollywood, an industry that does tend to eat it’s young. There was no resentment for any lost childhood; there was only gratitude for a blessed childhood filled with wonderful people and adventure. She even bore no grudges toward her parents who had invested her money foolishly.

As an adult, she did not have the wealth one would have presumed but she had no complaints. Instead she had compassion for their errors and rather than dwell on past mistakes, she looked forward to future opportunities. Were she to try to write such a positive memoir today, she might have a very hard time finding a publisher. Nobody wants to hear about the former child star who goes on to have a great life away from the camera and a past with no regrets. No, they want to hear about the ones who feel discarded by the Industry, the drug addicts, the train wrecks, the victims – not the heroes.

But Shirley most certainly was a hero – definitely a hero of mine. She will be missed but I hope that she will be remembered not just for the darling little girl that she was but for the truly class act she became. I’m so sorry I never had the honor of meeting her.

Thank You Susan!

EG Daily Is "Wide Awake"

My friend EG Daily has just done an amazing, quite raw cover of the Katy Perry song "Wide Awake" I wanted to share it with everyone and check in with EG herself about her thoughts on it...

MS: So you recently went viral with a video of you and a piano player covering Katy Perry's "Wide Awake" I loved it!

EG: It's my favorite Katy Perry song, I got with my piano player, and I wasn't going to post it because I thought it was so raw. Me in my living room my piano player, Lee Miles and I playing around with the material....then I thought: "Fuck it, post it"!

MS: It's really funny, I'm not a huge Katy Perry fan but I really like this song.

EG: The song is really good, right? It's a great song.

MS: Totally!

EG: I didn't think I liked it until I heard my piano player playing it one day and I said how beautiful the song sounded, he said it's the Katy Perry song, I told him it didn't sound like it. Then we started messing around with it, and I told him how much I loved it, good lyrics, good song.

MS: The lyrics are amazing, the best thing about it. Very healing, things are so rough for everybody right now.

EG: Yeah Honey, I know.

MS: Your cover is really raw, but I like raw.

EG: I do too, it's the real thing.

MS: You are completely Fucking awesome when you are raw!

EG: You are so sweet! It's a cover that I love and it's a beautiful song.

Marie Parie: 5 "Beautiful" Things

"Alien" Marie Parie is back. The Parisian pop artist has called the United States home since 2005. Her background gives her music a unique take on American society.

Bewildered with "Dating" she now delivers her personal take on beauty in the world with her new single "Beautiful".

Marie has appeared on "Entertain Me" before and I also did a full length interview with her which you can read at "Chorus and Verse" http://www.chorusandverse.com/content.php?id=20121005A

Here to list 5 "Beautiful" Things is Ms. Marie Parie...!

1. The innocence of a child

2. The simplicity of nature that made us to a perfection, no matter what our judgment is

3. The love that bind all of us as one connectedness. never goes away no matter what chaos we caused to nature

4. The brain to understand one another

5. The heart to forgive what our brain can't explain

"Beautiful" is a journey to innocence “back to childhood, children and the inner child”. When we lose the innocence, we lose ourselves.  We are all here, and we all make theories to what make us real or not real, or what makes us human or non human “I  personally believe I’m an alien, ”, and we try to extract the truth in all that. Well, in all what we are, perceive, touch or feel; there’s beauty" - Marie Parie

James Durbin's "Rock-N-Roll Fantasy"

James Durbin & Nikki Sixx

American Idol finalist, James Durbin, is gearing up for the release of his album “Memories Of A Beautiful Disaster” on November 21st, and is giving fans a taste of what’s to come as he reveals his first two singles from the highly anticipated debut. The anthemic lead single “Stand Up” will go to rock radio and the power-charged “Love Me Bad” will hit the Top 40.

James is living out his dreams, I caught up with him to speak of his fantasies, his rock-n-roll fantasies…

MS: Hey James, it’s amazing you are living your dreams right now, but every performer is always setting the bar higher for themselves, so let’s talk about some of your Rock-N-Roll fantasies.

JD: Sounds good!

MS: What band in your wildest dreams would you front if you could?

JD: This is going to sound cheesy, but I have always wanted to create my own destiny. I never wanted to try and rehash someone else’s old dream. So I am going to say, my band.

MS: Awesome! So who would you most like to write a song for you?

JD: Jared Leto. “30 Seconds to Mars” is my favorite American band in the last 10 years.

MS: Name the person you would most like to duet with.

JD: Again, Jared Leto, or Steven Tyler.

MS: Pick the venue you would most like to headline.

JD: The Rock Am Ring Festival in Europe. I watch videos of bands performing on those stages over and over, and the view from those stages is just great!

MS: Which magazine cover would you most like to appear on?

JD: Obviously, “Rolling Stone.” (laughs) It’s the cream of the crop.

MS: Tell us which song you would like to cover as a single.

JD: “Rainbow in the Dark” by Dio. It’s a song I used to sing in karaoke all the time, I would have everyone on their feet like it was a freakin’ rock show!

MS: What would you like your musical legacy to be?

JD: All I have ever wanted was to be a working musician. To be able to support myself and support my family. Because of the awesome opportunity on “American Idol” I have gotten a lot more than that. I’m taking it one step at a time.

Follow James on Twitter and Facebook here:
