"Who You Selling For"

Don't Even Think About Trying to "Take Me Down"
Taylor Momsen
Photo: Andrew Lipovsky
Life can be so unfair, I have an advance copy of this album and have already given it many a listen, guess what?! It's the fucking bomb!

The Pretty Reckless smashes it! “Take Me Down,” the first single from the album Who You Selling For, has reached #1 on the rock chart, after just 7 short weeks. This milestone marks the fourth consecutive #1 for the band who broke records as the first female-fronted band to have three chart toppers in a row with “Heaven Knows,” “Messed Up World” and “Follow Me Down” (all from 2014’s Going To Hell) - a feat that has not been accomplished since The Pretenders in 1984, over 30 years ago.

The Pretty Reckless’s extraordinary third studio album Who You Selling For is set for release today, October 21. Produced by longtime collaborator Kato Khandwala, Who You Selling For expands the band’s sound to encompass soul, blues and rock and roll. The songs were written by front woman Taylor Momsen and guitarist Ben Phillips. Momsen’s dark lyrics and raw, charismatic vocals are on full display and the band delivers at full intensity with a level of musicianship that raises the bar.

TPR hits the road this week in support of the album, hitting major markets in the US and wrapping on December 6th in Los Angeles.

Michael's Musings

Eat Your Heart Out, Madonna
Michael Shinafelt
It's Thursday and I'm back! It's my wrap up of random thoughts and opinions about this past week headed into the weekend.

Brace yourself. This could be offensive depending on your level of political correctness!

Why the F#@k should Simon Cowell have apologized for jokingly saying to openly gay TV host Rylan Clark-Neal  "I thought you liked the back door" on National TV? The only way this would be any sort of an insult is if he was a total top.

Can you live in only dermatology and water sports?

Accelerate easy, break easy, like making love. That's one way of doing it I suppose.

Tori Spelling apparently wants to give Octomom a run for her money. She is pregnant with baby number five. Six, Seven & Eight, cumming soon!

File This Under TMI - I watch the Real Housewives of New York while sitting on the toilet.

Street Talk: "Hunt the brown worker face." Your guess is as good as mine what that means, especially since a Latin Guy said it.

"For every pussy a pair of shoes will go to a child in need" - Margaret Cho, Green Tea. This should be Trump's last gasp campaign slogan.

How about that episode six twist on American Horror Story: My Roanoke Nightmare last night???

Let's Bounce!

Law & Order: SVU still rulz after eighteen seasons.

Time for a little self care, not to be confused with self love. Ciao!

Turn And Face The Strange...

Believe It, Or Not
Justin Timberlake & Kate Winslet
When I was younger I thought nothing could surprise me. Yeah, you think you have seen it all when you reach your twenties. Well that's a load of BS! That is one of the joys of being fifty you realize life is always evolving and there is always something that will catch you off guard that you never expected.

This brings me to today's post. Who would have ever thought one would see Kate Winslet & Justin Timberlake acting opposite each other in a movie???

In Woody Allen's world, which has a certain bent to it, now you will. The photo above is of the odd couple bouncing creative energy off one another while shooting Allen's latest untitled opus in Queens, New York.

File this under: Wonders Never Cease.

The Horror: Happy Birthday To Me

In the 1980's there was an onslaught of slasher films thanks to the success of my favorite horror movie of all time, John Carpenter's Halloween. Most of them were pedestrian, but there were a few that were a cut above the rest. Ha ha ha ha get it? I'm sure you did, at least once, perhaps twice.

Well Happy Birthday To Me falls into the "cut above the rest cate"gory" - puns are fun BTW

The combination of Melissa Sue Anderson laying to rest her role as Mary Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie, J. Lee Thompson of Cape Fear (the original) fame directing and the promise of six of the most bizarre murders you will ever see, really nailed it, literally.

Happy Birthday To Me is one of my favorites of all time and makes today's bullshit PG-13 horror movie trend look, well, like crap. Enjoy this montage of images from it, courtesy of moi.

She Wants Revenge

Beware Of  Ear Whispering
Lady Gaga
"As I whisper in your ear, I want to fucking tear you apart" - She Wants Revenge, Tear You Apart

I have a confession to make. When I was a kid I wanted to grow-up to be a vampire, no joke, for real. My Dad and myself used to watch horror movies during the weekend on TV. Dracula has always held a deep fascination with me. That interest of course extended to any other cool vampires that I took an inkling to.

Personally I am going out on sort of a limb here...not! That my intense interest in vamps stems from their powers being intertwined with sex and eroticism

My favorite vampire film of all time is the late Tony Scott's The Hunger. Following a close second is season five of the TV anthology American Horror Story: Hotel.

Lady Gaga was a kick ass mistress of the night and Matt Bomer as her paramour gave me a certain stirring in my groin.

Imagine my surprise when I came across a music video montage of Hotel done to one of my favorite songs ever Tear You Apart by She Wants Revenge.

While the song was featured during season five it was used for a specific scene, this video includes several scenes from Hotel and knocks it out of the fucking park!

Halloween is coming lick it up, like I did after the jump!

The Horror: Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho

Who Does Your Eyebrows?
Janet Leigh
Leaving one of the most indelible impressions of any horror film in history Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho is a classic that has endured through the generations. It has spawned three sequels, one remake and a prequel TV series, Bates Motel which is coming up on it's fifth and final season.

Nothing had ever been seen on the silver screen before like Janet Leigh's shower scene death as Marion Crane. Not only was it shocking in it's brutality it was the first time a protagonist had been killed off in the first thirty minutes of a movie.

So for a Halloween treat I have decided to post a montage of images from one of my favorite horror movie deaths of all time, the "shower scene" from Psycho for you to savor.

It's Better With A Ball Gag...

Slave 4 U
Ice-T & Coco
Ice-T is honestly one of my favorite actors. He among many other reasons, is why I tune into Law & Order: Special Victims Unit which has been on the air for a whopping 18 seasons!!! The show is a personal favorite of mine in case you can't tell.

As a side note I also I worked with his daughter in another life at a Talent Agency. She was a receptionist, and I was in accounting. Tell me more you say? Nope, you will have to read my book when it comes out for that story. Hey what would the Halloween season be without tricks?

So Ice and his curvy wife Coco are known for their hot & hotter Halloween costumes

I decided to present you with my fave. The couple dressed hellbent for leather, with Coco in charge and Ice with a ball gag in his mouth.

These guys always make me smile when I see them together because they seem so happy with one another. Keep on keeping you two!

January Is The New October

Pretty In Black
January Jones
After last night's episode of  The Twilight Zone aka The Presidential Debate in which we got to witness Donald Trump again show what a piece of sh!t he is I thought it would be nice to enter another alternate reality. One where January takes over October, Actress January Jones that is.

This pic of her at the Hammer Museum Gala in Los Angeles is hotter than Georgia Asphalt!

It also gives me some Mad Men yearning. Honestly it's the only TV show I have ever really missed once it went off the air.

So I am satiating myself with this image of the former Betty Draper today in an attempt to cleanse my, and your mind of last night's debacle and start your week off on a high note.

Have a terrific day, and watch out for falling poll numbers Trump!

"So Fetch" Lindsay Lohan & Jonathan Bennett

Discussing Math Equations?
Lindsay Lohan & Jonathan Bennett
Everyone loves the movie Mean Girls, right? I know I personally do. Well yesterday this happened Lindsay Lohan hooked-up with her co-star from it Jonathan Bennett, via a FaceTime conversation, Regina George must be so jealous that she went out and boinked Shane Owen in the projection booth upon hearing the news.

"Yes" Aaron Samuels and Cady Heron are reunited and it feels so grool!

The screen shot is courtesy of Lindsay and her Instagram page. Wonder what these two were talking about? It couldn't have anything to do with October 3rd, because the exchange took place on October the 6th. Seriously you two get it together!

Whatever they spoke about it's nice to know the two co-stars still keep in touch. It gives us a nice warm fuzzy feeling like the color pink on Wednesdays.

As Gretchen Wieners would say "T.G.I.F! hope your weekend is so fetch!"

OK, I have made an executive decision. Due to the popularity of this column I hereby decree my musings will now be posted every Thursday. No more Throwback Thursday for this guy. Now every TBT you are going to get my impressions of the past week heading into the weekend.

No tricks here, time for a treat!

A shout out to Ms. Summer Rudolph, my cousin who I have not seen in...yeah you get the picture. Loved connecting again at Marix Tex Mex in West Hollywood, CA. Grrrrrrrrrl you rock!

Marla Maples is so gangsta!

Dear twink who insists on sitting shotgun to me in Jessica's Spin Class at Gold's Gym Hollywood. Just stop please. Your energy is annoying and reminds me of a puppy dry humping my leg.

Most of you would be less offended if Hillary Clinton were a man. "Yes" I'm playing the sexism card.

Hello Kim Kardashian, can you seriously not get if there are those who think your being robbed is a publicity stunt?!

Man on Man flirting. To all you men out there, develop the art of flirting with other men whether you are gay or straight. Trust me it works. Especially if you are a gay man flirting with a straight one. It may not get you laid, but it sure will get you what you want.

Marilyn Monroe. Yep, that thought just happened.

Is it just me or is Mark Cuban hot?

Sometimes I like to imagine I am a male version of Miriam Blaylock in The Hunger. What? You think you have a better fantasy? Bring it!

It turns out it really is better with a towel.

"One Man Circle Jerk" Donald Trump

Look! It's A Bitchy Tangerine!
Tis' the season for ghosts, witches & demons, fa la la la la la la...

Halloween is the most wonderful season of the year with many things to make you recoil with fear. Well this year there is something even more frightening than the supernatural. It's that "One Man Circle Jerk" Donald Trump may become President of the United States November 8th. Contemplate that and tell me you aren't terrified!

Here is one of the best written things about Dumping Trump I have ever read. Wished I could claim it as mine, but I can't. The author wished to remain anonymous on here, he knows who he is, and he knows I think it's brilliant! I mean he hits the nail on the proverbial head calling out Drumpf as a "One Man Circle Jerk." Yep, I am going to drive this quote into the ground, it never gets old.

"Trump is a man with a vision for America, not a specific vision, a great vision...the best vision...Trump has a plan to make this country great again....What plan??....a great plan...a plan that will work because it's the best plan.....Why???... because Trump knows good people...which people???....the best people....people that are not stupid like other people....people who know how to get deals done...what deals???...great deals...the biggest deals... because I know words... What words???...I have the best words... I get my information from watching TV... I consult with myself because I have a great brain... A great brain???...the best brain...Trump will also build a big wall to keep Mexicans out and he will make Mexico pay for it!...How....??? its all part of the great plan!...ISIS will be gone very, very quickly...How???... I won't tell you.. It's a secret !!!...

Trump is a “one-man circle jerk” and he is only about entertaining the uneducated who love him and his great plan. He's all air - no substance. And he is their “Champion."

Former High School Musical and Spring Breakers star Vanessa Hudgens brings all the boys to the yard, including Zombies.

You know the sequel where the protagonist Jesse portrayed by Mark Patton was a tortured teen struggling with his homosexuality, yeah that one.

Well here is some great commentary and coverage of it by Tye Briggs from Favorite Hunks and Other Things and of course it is accompanied by images of Mark in nothing but underwear and naked! Boo!

Afraid Of Clowns?

Sexy or Scary? You Decide.
Michael Shinafelt
Photo: Dusti Cunningham
It's October 1st my minions and you all know by now what that means, thirty more days until Halloween!!! Boo-yah!

As you can see I am not clowning around and excited for the upcoming Black Celebration. Yes I just made a reference to a Depeche Mode song that fits the season like that missing piece from a Jigsaw puzzle. (Yes, that was a Saw reference ; )

There are so many reasons to love Halloween more than Christmas. One is Satan, who is my favorite mythological beast. He gets a lot more play this time of year. Two is my favorite horror film of all time is named after it, like duh, the title is John Carpenter's Halloween. Three there is magic in the air, with no judgement calls on the source of it. Four is that Freddy Krueger will be haunting somebody's dreams that night, jamming! Need I go on? I thought not.

Cheers to the month of the macabre on Entertain Me I promise you lots of edgy & downright questionable posts from here on out. All bets are off, and no one is safe...so let's get the party started with Black Celebration below by Depeche Mode, Ghouls!
