For A Good Cause: O.A.R. & Phillip Phillips

O.A.R. and Phillip Phillips give it up for a great cause, Habitat for Humanity International. Keep the love flowing..

Rock band O.A.R. and singer Phillip Phillips announced today their joint summer tour will benefit Habitat for Humanity to support the organization’s mission of providing safe, decent, affordable housing in partnership with low-income families.

“Home means everything to us. It’s our DNA. It’s who we are,” said Marc Roberge of O.A.R.  “We had the chance to meet amazing people building Habitat for Humanity homes in LA, pouring love and sweat into the foundation, taking pride in the work they were doing, alongside the Habitat partner family, and it was an honor to be a part of that. Words can’t properly describe the positive swell that brought to our hearts. We hope the donation from our tour will help families, like the ones we met, achieve their dreams of homeownership.”

The 24-city joint tour kicks off in St. Louis on June 12 and wraps up in Atlanta on July 26. For every ticket sold, O.A.R. and Phillip Phillips will donate $1 to Habitat. The tour will also host online auctions for a VIP experience in each city, including two premium tickets and an opportunity to meet with the artists. Proceeds from the auctions will go to local Habitat affiliates.

“My team has personally seen the incredible impact Habitat for Humanity can have on lives. We have worked on builds from the Musician's Village rebuild in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina to local neighborhoods in my community,” said Phillip Phillips. “Habitat's roots stem from my home state of Georgia but their reach is now worldwide  I am honored to partner with Habitat for Humanity in carrying out their mission - to build homes, communities, and hope."

The artists will also donate 10 concert tickets to the Habitat for Humanity affiliate in each tour city, for use by Habitat volunteers and staff, as well as Habitat partner homeowner families, who they will meet at each tour stop. Habitat affiliates will be provided with space at each venue to raise awareness about their affordable housing work within their communities.

“O.A.R. and Phillip Phillips share our passion for helping low-income families realize the dream of homeownership,” said Colleen Ridenhour, deputy director of Corporate, Foundation and Institution Relations for Habitat for Humanity International. “We are honored to be recognized during their summer tour and are grateful for their generosity in helping raise funds to create safe, decent, affordable housing.”

Around "A Great Big World" In 30 Days

When Sneakers Collide, It's: A Great Big World
Hitch a ride with A Great Big World this month, they are taking you on a trip for all 30 days of it, impressive!

In 2013, a friend of Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino's challenged them to release one video per day for an entire month. They took the challenge, and the "30 Videos in 30 Days" series was born. Since then, the band has been on a whirlwind ride with their single "Say Something" taking over the radio charts around the world.

Now, one year later, the band is resurrecting the video series to show a side of themselves that their new fans might not yet know. Five videos have been posted so far, including a "Day in the Life," "Fan Q&A," "Axel Fact," and "Why'd They Write That?" explaining the meaning and process behind writing "Say Something." Fans can look forward to more videos including live performances, more behind-the-scenes videos and more personal information from Ian and Chad.

Take a look below and stay tuned for a new video each day this month!

In addition, A Great Big World will be crisscrossing the globe this year when they launch an expansive international run, the appropriately titled "A Great Big World Tour".  The tour also perfectly coincides with the launch of the group's latest single "Already Home"

A Few Of My Favorite Things: Morrissey & Pamela Anderson

Pamela & Morrissey Sitting In A Tree...
Two of my favorite things, Morrissey & Pamela Anderson have joined forces for the video "Earth is the Loneliest Planet" a spoken word piece by the big M himself.

I encountered Morrissey once at The Viper Room in Los Angeles when he was there to see a band that I was there to see Girl in a Coma, an all female group with a name that "yes" was a homage to the Morrissey song "Girlfriend in a Coma" thus it made for an overall too cool for school evening.

Also I have interviewed the delightful Ms. Anderson for Instinct magazine when it was good for a great column they used to have "The Chick We'd Switch For."

When I posed the question "If you were gay for one day would you want that experience to be as a man or a woman?"

She enthusiastically said "A man . I have so many gay male friends and hear so many great stories."

To which I replied "What would you want to do as a gay man?"

Pamela quipped "If I was a gay man I would know how to give a better blow job ."

This is verbatim as I just transcribed it from a copy of the magazine with my interview in it.

Yep, you guys made my week!

Susan Olsen Remembers Ann B. Davis

Ann B. Davis aka Alice
Ann B. Davis "Alice" the housekeeper from "The Brady Bunch" passed away today. Here with a statement from someone who knew her, and loved her, is Susan Olsen aka Cindy Brady...

I was waiting for it to reach the news before saying anything. Yes, it's true, our beloved Ann B. passed away this morning. I loved her work even before I knew and loved her. When I was five, I got the Hong Kong flu. I missed a lot of school and stayed in bed watching TV. I loved the Bob Cummings Show because I enjoyed Ann B. in the role of his secretary "Schultzy". I was overjoyed when I learned that I would be working with her on Brady Bunch. Already a fan, it was only icing on the cake to get to know her. She always treated us kids with respect and we knew we were working with greatness. I'm happy to know that she never lost her beautiful mind and razor sharp wit. She will be dearly missed by the many who knew her and the many more who felt like they did. I'm sure there is now a bright red sports car tearing up the clouds in heaven.

R.I.P. Ann B. Davis, another great childhood memory

All Hail Angelina Jolie

All Hail "Maleficent"

C'mon you all know you want to get down in a movie theater this Friday with Maleficent, starring the perfectly cast Angelina Jolie, yes, yes you do and so do I!

I have to say I am excited to see Jolie play the biggest Disney villain ever and transform into a Drag Queen, I mean Dragon, but really let's face it Maleficent is a DQ as a well as a bad ass and I am not talking Dairy Queen.

When I first saw Angelina on the big screen it was for her Oscar winning role in  Girl Interrupted and during her press rounds pimping her turn as Maleficent she had this to say about it:

"I really, genuinely thought I was the only character who was sane in the entire film. And if you watch it closely, that's exactly how I was playing it: I am just the only sane person here. I was actually almost upset when people said I was so good at playing insane because I never thought she was insane. She was just incredibly honest, which, I guess, made her seem crazy."

Hey she will always be Angelina no matter what and that's why her fans love her.

Maleficent opens Friday, All Hail Angelina Jolie

Pentatonix Gets Down !

PTX: We're Here To Get Down
Photo: Esther Kaplan
We all know the PTX gang as an amazing acapella cover group. However up until now, have only done an official video for one original song "Run To You" a moving piece of music that I LOVED when I saw them in concert in March.

Time to catch the "Boogie Fever" as Pentatonix has done what I would call a song, dance floor and dance re-mix ready, get down!

"Love Again" does what the best dance anthems do, it features beats that make you want to shake your booty and it is accessible to any DJ to remix and make you want to shout on the dance floor, give it up!!!

Give it a listen and try to stay sitting in front of your computer the whole time, I guarantee you will get up and get down in Funky Town.

Cutthroat & Shinafelt "At The Movies"

Cutthroat & Shinafelt "At The Movies"
In the tradition of "Siskel & Ebert" "Ebert & Roeper" comes "Cutthroat & Shinafelt At The Movies"...

Yes, the resident "Burlesque Biotch" and Bonaparte band member on "Entertain Me" Clea Cutthroat has agreed to discuss five upcoming summer movies with yours truly. It's time for "Cutthroat & Shinafelt At The Movies" In this case the balcony never closes and it's always showtime at the edge of the stage...

1) Maleficent

CC: This is a win-win in my book. A fierce evil bitch, with a bad ass head piece & perfect complexion played by Angelina Jolie. Even if the script sucks, you're sure to score some fabulous makeup tips for your next goth party, fetish event, or Halloween bash. (Who am I kidding !?! I would rock that head gear strolling the supermarket with stilettos at 3 in the afternoon, LOL) All Hail Maleficent!

MS: Maleficent is the best Disney bitch ever! She kicks the Evil Queens ass from Snow White, after all she can turn into a dragon and the Evil Queen can only turn into some old hag who hands out poison apples.

2) 22 Jump Street

CC: You lost me at 22. I may live in Berlin now, and have no idea what this is...but I don't even wanna google it. Is "22" the clever idea of a sequel to that hot-mess remake of 21 Jump Street? I'd rather spend the night exfoliating.

MS: Me? I'd rather have my ball hairs burnt off than be subjected to this.

3) Transformers: Age Of Extinction

CC: Must I really? The title says it all: "Age of Extinction". Transformers, please go away.

MS: I heard Michael Bay added nostrils to the Transformers this time so they can snort cocaine.

4) Jupiter Ascending

CC: I think that we should take the money that we saved from not seeing 22 blah blah, Transformers, and this movie and go to Disneyland!!! We can kidnap hot sexy Mila, all take pics with Maleficent together & get high before going into the Haunted House. Score!

Ok...Disney is still a bit more expensive than the entrance for 3 movies put together...but, we could at least go to the bar.  First round of margaritas on me! (Mila's got the second round for sure ;)

MS: Yeah! Margaritas and Mila, good times!

5) Sex Tape

CC: Whereas "22 Jump Street" lost me at it's title, this movie has already made a giant fan out of me. Two of my favorite things: "sex" and "tape".

Hmmmm, I would say more, but now I can only think about sex.

Well, regardless if I go on a date by myself, or with someone else, this film should surely lend itself to a "happy ending".

Two thumbs....waaaay up. Pun completely intended ;)

MS: My boyfriend and I made one of those, and we watch it when we...Hey, why watch strangers when you can let your inner narcissist out and get off on yourselves?

XOXO,
Clea Cutthroat

Sh!t Faith Says...!

Faith Choyce
A long time ago in a town known as Los Angeles, CA I went to a comedy show, yeah don't get too excited it doesn't happen that often, that a friend of mine was performing in.

Well what to my wandering eyes did appear but a comedian named Faith Choyce, but damn! Where were the reindeer?!

Faith was the best thing on the bill and I have kept in contact with her ever since. She makes me laugh everyday with her Facebook and Twitter posts, so to entertain and amuse you here is some "Sh!t Faith Says" you have no Choyce!

1) There are some things you should never say out loud to another person, like "I make my own snuff films" or "I don't like chocolate".

2) Hey hipsters! Here's a free baby name for you: Chi-chi, except it's pronounced "Shy Shy". It's glittery, ambiguous, & from the streets.

3) Most male strippers are just paying their way though fireman school.

4) Bacon is like sex; it makes everything more awesome and if you don't like it, it's only because your religion makes you feel weird about it.

5) A great way to not take responsibility for your actions is to scream "I need my insulin!!!" everytime you do something crazy.

6) "Soooo, how's the comedy thing going?" -Horrible question to ask a person in stirrups. #DoctorsWithoutBordersOrBoundaries

7) If Justin Bieber had any fans with upper body strength he'd seriously be able to take over the world.

8) Whoever said "You can't have your cake and eat it too", CLEARLY doesn't understand how cake works.

9) Guys always talk about how they wish they could blow themselves but never mention whether they'd spit or swallow. #AllTalkNoWalk

10) Okay, ladies of the internet, keep pretending that "fiery and passionate" doesn't just mean you're kind of a crazy biznatch.

11) AWESOME GROUPON GUYS, HALF A LIFETIME OF THERAPY FOR ONLY 6 YEARS OF CHILDHOOD MEMORIES. #SharingIsCaring

12) If you think you're young now just remember that in a few years you'll hit on someone who thinks it's really weird you were born in the 1900s.

13) Somewhere, there is an adult working in clear heels whose parents named her Candida. On purpose.

14) When a lesbian runs into an ex and realizes she forgot her name, it's called clamnesia.

15) I had a dream that Shawn was secretly always trying to bang Topanga then my whole childhood came crashing down around me.
